I use daily airplay data and the pop bars to make a prediction for the hot 100. Last week i had almost the complete top 10 right, so maybe it is a good predictor. This week is definitely going to have some very tough competition. Right now I am expecting like:
Song - Sales - Airplay
WA - 150k - 115M Payphone - 120k - 130M CMM - 145k - 112M
WA should have a slight advantage over the two in terms of Sales and Airplay but should be a bit behind on streaming.
Payphone and CMM are practically tied in terms of Sales and Airplay, and streaming should be quite close as well.
This will be really interesting......

Watch "Payphone" take #1.

Lol hopefully it does, that way Nicki can have the record for the longest run for a song that debuted in the top 10 and didn't hit #1.

This reminds me of when "Give Me Everything" sneaked out a week at #1 after looking like it'd be held out of the top spot -- I don't particularly like "Payphone" but for a song to spend nearly 4 months stuck in the #2 or 3 spot, it'd be nice for it to snag a week.

Yeah, GME was a huge song and got stuck between RITD and PRA. Could be something like CMM, PP, and then Lights or Whistle. Those two increasing the most on streaming, which now being a huge factor makes them seem most likely to be the biggest hits.

Yeah, crazy. Just bad timing I guess. How will Payphone have much of a chance though since its lacking in sales, and its starting to rapidly decrease in airplay?EDIT: Just viewed today's update, and PP has leveled out a bit. Still think next week will be strictly between CMM and WA, with Whistle jumping both the following week.

The sales for Payphone have let it down... It can't seem to close the gap between CMM. I think WA will take it instead.

I know it isnt likley, but if CMM held on to number one, and the following week Lights took over, we'd have 4 artitst getting number ones with their first charting singles in a row.

It Katy can make it to #1 with "Wide Awake," I wonder if Capitol will try and pull something to re-issue TOTGA to get it to #1. Or they are kicking themselves for deciding to release it.
On the other hand, they will have another shot at Whitney's record leading into her next album.

I don't see how TOTGA would get to #1 at all?? It had a remix, discount over the CHRISTMAS season, and an accoustic version. Really, anyone who wants the song has bought it already. Its shot at #1 is long gone.

Y'all imaginations are something else. 'TOTGA' never had a chance w/all its antics. If 'WA' just so happens to go #1, 'TOTGA' would live up to its title b/c it would truly be the song that got away from breaking MJ's record & challenging Whitney's record.

Wouldn't she have broken both records, if WA and TOTGA both hit #1?

She would've broken Nippy's record for having 8 consecutive #1s.

Well you said "breaking MJ's record" while only "challenging Whitney's record."
So your word choice made it sound like those 8 #1s would only break MJ's record, and only either get close to or tie Whitney's record.

Yes. She would've broken MJ's record for having the most #1s off an album. I only threw in challenging for Nippy's record b/c 'WA' isn't #1, yet, if it goes #1 :)

But you started out saying "If 'WA' just so happens to go #1" so that's why I assumed all 8 would have been #1 then.
