ONE-DAY SALES FORECAST: The Now franchise just keeps tickin’, despite—or perhaps because of—consumers’ primary focus on singles. Now 43 (Capitol/EMI) will be next Tuesday’s biggest debut by a mile, just as Rick Ross’ album was this week), with early sales projecting a tally of 110-120k. That appears to be enough to knock Ross out of the top perch, given the typical second-week drop-off. R&B artist Elle Varner (RCA) should have the next biggest bow with 25-30k, followed by country rapper Colt Ford (Average Joe's) with 15-20k and John Mayer’s iTunes exclusive EP (Columbia), with 14-17k. (8/8p)

Not bad for Elle. That should be a top 10 debut

Capitol/EMI's Now 43 will debut at #1 next week, the first time a Now compilation has debuted on top since Now 37 hit the summit in February, 2011, with 151k. For now, it appears that all four major distributors will be represented in the Top 5. Of course, there will likely be a surprise or two, thanks to Amazon MP3's 99-cent Daily Deals. In the meantime, here's how it looks headed into the weekend:
*Now 43 (Capitol/EMI) 110-120k Rick Ross (Def Jam/IDJ) 60-65k Zac Brown Band (Atlantic) 30-35k Justin Bieber (Island/IDJ) 30-35k One Direction (Syco/Columbia) 27-30k *Elle Varner (RCA) 27-30k Adele (XL/Columbia) 27-30k Kidz Bop Kids (Razor & Tie) 24-27k *Colt Ford (Average Joe's) 21-24k Maroon 5 (A&M/Octone) 20-23k Nas (Def Jam/IDJ) 17-20k Luke Bryan (Capitol Nashville/EMI) 15-18k fun. (Fueled By Ramen) 15-18k Carrie Underwood (19/AristaNashville) 15-18k Kenny Chesney (Blue Chair/ColumbiaNashville) 15-18k Of Monsters & Men (Republic) 14-17k Frank Ocean (Def Jam/IDJ) 14-17k
*Debuts (8/9p)

Carrie Underwood's BLOWN AWAY has never left top 25. and it will jump 6 spots to #14 if the forecast is correct.

Carrie's single seems to be doing very well digitally. Is there any chance this may get promoted to other formats. I think it could do well and may get her closer to getting another 2mill seller.

I hate when random compilations are #1. Though I guess it doesn't happen too often. How many CDs from the Now series have hit #1?

Probably just HOT AC radio. She has stated that she will never remix her songs to Pop. That's too bad. But it's also smart of her. It would be a damn shame if she got herself blacklisted at country radio like LeAnn Rimes or Faith Hill (faith to as lightly lesser extent).

I don't even think Carrie's "Blown Away" sounds all that country. I bought it when it came out on ITunes and I normally don't care that much for Country.

I'd classify "Blown Away" as Pop/AC with a hint of Country. I like the song a lot though

"Blown Away" is pop enough on its own to cross over if only they'd give it a pop adds date.

Kanye, Jackie, Jason, DMB, might be a bit optimistic That MJ projection for the Bad re-release looks VERY optimistic. M&S will be closer to 250k IMO

All of that, you should not take too seriously. Like all other 'estimates' it will either be right or it won't but at the end of the day it is still an opinion

^Please. We all know that.
They are estimates done by a major label.
Sometimes they are right (Rick Ross) and sometimes they are wrong (Sparkle).
It's just a good guide to what sales might be.
They are not "law." Not once have I said they are 100% accurate.
Let us have some fun...
