I doubt that she'll be performing more than two or three songs. That's usually the cutoff. She's performing 5 songs, per Twitter. I wish she would just skip 'Triumphant' and do some other uptempo track in its place, but I can't imagine that she's going to neglect her current single, especially since she seems to love it so much.

She again asked what the fans want to hear "for the nostalgia". Must be pretty confident in her voice. Unless she considers Touch My Body nostalgic.

I hope we don't get "Touch My Body." Although, TMB live I actually like better than the recorded version, in terms of the arrangement. If we get a couple 90s smashes in her setlist, I'll be fine with that. And I think we will, she's not stupid. If you're Mariah, this is a nice chance to remind a wide audience of people that you can sing. I'm also guessing we may get WBT too.
And if she's doing 5 songs, I wonder if all 5 songs will be televised or if they'll only do one or two.

The show is an hour, and it's her and No Doubt. No way that 10 full songs will be aired live. I'm guessing it'll be 2 or 3 aired or it'll be shortened versions and a 10 minute set.

I'm glad she's as confused as we are as to what she should sing at an NFL event. I just don't see much of her catalog complimenting football all that well, no matter how inspirational some of her songs are.

I just don't see much of her catalog complimenting football all that well, no matter how inspirational some of her songs are. It has nothing to do with complementing football. Few artists have a catalog that does that. That's why she should probably go out there, sing an uptempo number or two that people recognize to set a party mood and good atmosphere.

If she thinks she could do Fantasy, I'd like to see her do the def club mix live. With a marching band like the brazil performance a couple years ago.

Yeah. No ballads please. No "Triumphant" either. What's the point?

If she thinks she could do Fantasy, I'd like to see her do the def club mix live. With a marching band like the brazil performance a couple years ago. The show is in four days and she's not sure what she's going to sing, so that makes me wonder if this is going to be more low-key. I have a feeling at least one of the songs will be a ballad, which I think is a good idea. The most captivating Mariah performances usually are ballads where it's just her and a mic -- no worrying about angles, posing, etc. I liked the def club mix of "Fantsay" live. I think the original would elicit the nostalgia she's going for moreso than a remix most haven't heard, but any version would be great. It should be a cool performance -- No Doubt is doing "Settle Down," something with an acoustic guitar (my guess is either "Don't Speak" or "Underneath It All") and "Spiderwebs."

Yeah. No ballads please. No "Triumphant" either. What's the point? I guess she could dedicate it to Lighty's family. I wouldn't mind the omission, but I'm sure there are big fans who would. Still, she's not really performing for the fans. This seems more like an AI-primer to me.

Out of the 5 songs, only one will air according to MariahDaily. Hopefully the rest show up online soon after.

Great she is going to sing 4 good songs but the only one heard out of the 5 will be Triumphant, hope the rumours that she will be part of the MTV Awards tribute to Whitney is true, would love a song this time around.

Oh, what a sin it will be if Mimi hasn't logged in some studio time with the A+mazing Jeff Bhasker before the album is complete....

No iam not sure hence "rumor" comment, i have though in the last two weeks read on a few blogs but even then it was worded in we assume, we think, we hope, so not even close to anything substantial, but i hope its true and i do think its MTV's turn to pay homage to the queen.

Only if he can give her some "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" or "808 and Heartbreak" type productions. String work, dark and lush beats, and just full and interesting sonic experiences. No basic piano cords and drum beats like the stuff he does for Alicia. The boring stuff from JD and B Cox already checks that box.

I hope she goes back to taking a sample and making it hot and fresh, at this point with the producers she is working with that might be the best route for the lead single in Jan, worked well for Fantasy, Heartbreaker, The Roof, Breakdown (i think that was a sample beat?)..... @spooky, Triumphant knocked out MCSummer12 before it even began, she couldnt stay on her toes and get of the ropes

With a hot producer, they could take elements of this song, and take it somewhere else!

Yes "Just Be Good To Me" is the one i was thinking of, i never understood why the woman always does covers of pop/rock and ac songs, her best cover imo was I'll Be There.

That's right. I forget she's already covered/samples a couple of SOS Band songs. "Take Your Time" just sounds like her, though. lol
