I don't know if there will be a need for a single from Matchox Twenty's upcoming EP, but has there been any mention of a single going to Hot AC or AAA, or even a single to Alternate radio?

The new song on the EP is called Suffer Me. I like the title. I doubt that it will be released as a single. The EP will probably receive very little promotion from Atlantic Records. I think this EP is just for MBT's diehard fans, like me. LOL!! Can't wait to hear the new song.

Yeah, I noticed that "Suffer Me" was the only new track on the CD. Did I read somewhere that this was a track not used for "More Than You Think You Are"? It probably has the best chance of picking up some airplay. I haven't heard "Suffer Me" yet, so I may be way off base.
CD Track Listing:
1) "Crutch" (from VH1 Storytellers) 2) "Push" (live) 3) "All I Need" (live) 4) "If You're Gone" (live) 5) "Disease" (acoustic) 6) "Suffer Me"

Because it's only an EP, I agree it will barely be promoted (nonetheless sell well enough with matchbox twenty's devoted fan base) and in result though I haven't heard "Suffer Me" yet, it wouldn't be the bext option to release that to radio.
However, because "Bright Lights" is poised to be another hit for the band, it wouldn't hurt to release a fourth single from MTYTYA. And I imagine "All I Need" would be the best choice.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

They should release the live version of "All I Need". Then they could promote both albums at once.

Though "All I Need" is the non-single track off the album I believe would most likely perform best on radio out of all the rest of the tracks off "More Than You Think You Are", another option could be for the band to try to promote their more rockier side to Hot AC and make "Cold" a single, as it seems matchbox twenty has been trying to retain their identity as an alternative band, and they will most likely never see the light of Alternative again, so they can display their edgier rock sound elsewhere.
"Cold" has that kind of System Of A Down production feel to it yet it also has the friendly-hook formula to it that could make it somewhat played on Hot AC.

I meant the best choice out of the nine tracks that have not yet been certified singles yet, other than "Disease", "Unwell", and "Bright Lights" And though I think "Bright Lights" is the most radio-friendly track from the album, it'll be difficult to best the #3 peak on CHR/Pop with the holiday extravaganza coming. Yes but Alternative is a format that bases airplay around an artist and not a specific song so it flopped.

I just heard "Suffer Me" for the first time, and while it is a good song, I can promise you it wont be a single.
Like matchbox twenty has said in interviews, this is just kind of a collection of hidden gems that the band has collected over the years and they are releasing it for the fans. Don't expect massive sales, a video, or single to promote the EP.
Fans should be (and are) glad that they are getting this as a nice little treat. Places like Best Buy are selling it for 6.99.

Oh man. 3 Doors and Matchbox are really fightin' each other now. They have dueling #1's and now they have dueling EP's. This is getting interesting.

When it comes to CHR/Pop, 3 Doors Down easily win that battle. But here on Hot AC, I'd say matchbox twenty will win this war. Just three weeks ago, "Here Without You" had a 250-spin lead over "Bright Lights". Now, it only has about a 30-spin difference. matchbox twenty will clearly win the Hot AC battle I can see.
