Yeah, single #2 from Goodbye Alice In Wonderland. This is a very tricky single, let's see how radio will react to it. theedge.bostonherald.com/musicNews/view.bg?articleid=142769Atlantic released an edited version of the six-minute title track from ββAliceβ as the first single, but Jewel insists that wasnβt her intention. But after spending 20 hours of shooting a video for ββGood Day,β sheβs much more hopeful about the release of her next single. ββItβs also a bit ambitious, but I think itβll sound good on the radio,β she said. ββIt deals with issues of acceptance on a romantic level, (how) to discern between dreaming and pretending. Making the video was fun, but we were flying by the seat of our pants with only one day to work. No second takes. We did it as a minimovie with the verses as reality, portrayed in black and white. Then the choruses come as an escape into a fantasy with a big burst of color.β

Opposite to Bad Day or just coincidence or is Jewel trying too hard?

It's not bad, but 'Again And Again' is better.
The part where she went 'ooookayyyyyyy' at the end sounds awful though, what was that? ???

I think this will really flop. The chorus is good but the nearly spoken verses, I dunno. When was the last time a song became a hit with spoken verses that wasn't a novelty song?

I think its a fantastic song and I am happy she is taking a chance rather than releasing a single that would be safe for radio...because quite frankly, everything from her will flop now. Time for something a little new instead of safe.

I enjoy this song quite a bit. And the video looks really cute too! They showed Jewel making the video and about a 30 second preview of it and it looked good.
Lets hop AC/Hot AC pick up on this.

Bad times for Jewel right now on radio. Looks like she is done...

I think Jewel's best chance would be to collaborate with a big name or up and comer. Like if she did a song with James Blunt, if he can continue his success. Or luck out with a big soundtrack hit.
Too bad for her tho. :(

Yeah this looks like the end for Jewel. Her album sales are absolutely appalling!

Well, when her Greatest Hits comes out,... whenever, then she'll be free. Well, she's free from Atlantic now. She'll probably go for a label that can work her stuff alittle better. Maybe not mainstream but something more for an indie audience or the coffeehouse audience.

You guys worry too much. The end for Jewel? I'm sure she will be able to have a hit once again. The next albums will probably be low-fi releases, like a country album and a jazz album, but I believe she'll have a pretty long career. Not everybody needs to go platinum in order to be successful. Atlantic wants to keep her, but others record companies are pursuing her too. If she wasn't lucrative, why would they bother? The thing is that she will probably always be a steady seller, even though it may not be too much, and she doesn't overspend her money, she does a lot of touring and stuff like that. But this is a fan just rambling...

The video is up on AOL. I like it, except the yellow pavement to her door annoys me a lot LOL.
Is that Ty with her in bed? ???

I bought the album over the weekend. I'm listened to about 7 songs. So far I like Goodbye Alice In Wonderland.

Some are saying the end of her, some are saying it isn't... But before GAIW was released she said she will probably not release another album. I'm not holding my breath, although she is my favorite singer. I really hope she does.
I LOVE this song/video a lot. Shame it'll flop... I miss the days when she actually had success.

Well we can add the Jewel to the growing lists of HOT AC female artist, who HOT AC has forgotten about. Her and Sherly Crow.
Maybe there is some chance this will pick up. And surely this isn't the end of Jewel. There have been artist with worse sells and hits to come back. Didn't Nelly Furtado's last album and single do poorly, and now look at her #1 on POP.

If Jewel resorts to working with Pharrell or Jay-Z or Timbaland then I'd definately consider that selling out. And I don't consider '0304' really having sold out.

Why would she stop making music? I mean, I know she isnt successful anymore, but I cannot believe that she would just stop creating music right now. Or did she just mean not release new cds? That sucks for all of her fans (even though there seem to be few left :( )
