It'll probably go for adds later on pop. Maybe pulling a Sheryl Crow? It's about a month and a half before the CD gets released so maybe they're either testing the waters or haven't finalized a date for pop. I can't see the song going completely unnoticed on pop though, adds date or no adds date.

They'll know about it. ;) I'm sure pop stations will find some way to get the song and play it if they want to. I'm not quite sure how it works but a song doesn't necessarily need an official add date on a format to get airplay there.

Really looking forward to finally hearing all of this. It must get really good towards the end or something because people are talking of an Uninvited-type of song. And judging by the clip that has been released, it's not near as epic. But I definitely could see it building up.
I hope this is AT LEAST a big hit on Hot Ac/Triple A. Maybe they'll let Everything hit big and then for the second single, they'll release it to both formats. I mean yeah, they're going to set a pop add date at some point, I'm sure. But they may wait to see it's reception elsewhere first.

Even allaccess had the clip on the Mainstream/Pop section but it never went for adds. :( However, I think Alanis is gauranteed at least Top 40 with the song so I'm not quite sure why they aren't putting it for adds yet. I would take a guess that it might go to pop maybe a month to 6 weeks after Hot AC. If any Alanis song has a chance at pop, it's the first release of the CD.

Ugh that is a shame too because In This Life had HUGE hit potential. I saw it being like a 1000 Miles type of song. You know, not going with the current trend of hip-hop/pop and becoming a hit. *sigh* Radio is missing out so much on Chantal.

I too thought "In This Life" could've been a big hit, but I guess we'll never know.

Going for adds on March 22nd!
We've heard the good quality mp3, so what are your prediction?

Though "Under Rug Swept" put Alanis Morrisette in an enormous downfall sales-wise, she seems to now be in a more comfortable zone where she knows where her core audience stands.
"Everything" may not take Alanis to the top of the pop charts in comparison to the first five singles from her debut album, but Hot AC will serve her well.
My Prediction: #4
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I think you are very right about Alanis album sales. But I don't think anyone expected URS to approach the success of SFIJ let alone JLP. JLP was a phenomenon. SFIJ was Alanis f*** you to the music industry, but still sold immensely because of JLP and some good singles. But it allienated the masses leaving just the fans for URS. Sales of her albums from now on should be fairly consistent.
Top 10 for Everything and I'd be happy. Im sure this album has some other great singles comming.

The quality isn't that great though. It still sounds muffled. But it sounds better than the old mp3 and I noticed some neat background vocals in it!

This song has a lot slower, laid-back pace compared to a lot of Alanis' other songs (at least the singles), and it's not as accessible at first listen. But, I really like the lyrics and the song itself. Since it's not really catchy, it probably won't be a huge success (def. not #1) on Hot AC (even though I don't keep track of the chart).
Prediction: #6

My POP station started to play it 2 days ago and since then I have heared it about 4 times, so maybe it will be a big hit on the HOT AC chart, if POP stations are already playing it!

looking at the spins this song has got on HOT AC and POP, can someone please tell me how this song is doing generally? Is this peformance good for a song not going for Add's at POP yet? Is it good for pre impact ADD's on Hot AC? etc.
Thank you. I'm not very familiar with these charts.

It doesn't have any airplay at CHR/Pop. I'm not sure about Hot AC.

Do you know where the going for adds spotlight is on there home page. I can't find it ??? Does this mean the song is likely to be most added for the format?

Mediabase says she is being played on 31? HOT AC stationsΒ , I hope it does well on POP to! Shes also a big gainer on the HOT AC chart, so it looks like she has a HOT AC hit.

I saw an ad for her album yesterday and it was a really good looking one! I'm glad she's here to stay with moderate success instead of huge success and then nothing... like it looked to be in the 90s.

If she doesn't debut on the charts posted tomorrow, Alanis will debut on the 4/2 charts for Hot AC and Triple A.

On Mediabase, Alanis is Number 15 on Triple A. She's being played on Hot AC and/or Triple A in at least five of the biggest ten markets. She also has very good audience per spin on Triple A by Triple A standards.

ALANIS MORISSETTE Everything Producer(s): Alanis Morissette, Writer(s): A. Morissette Publisher(s): Szeretlek adm. by BMG Music Publishing International, ASCAP Label/Catalog Number: Maverick/Reprise 101282 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: April 03, 2004 There is no mistaking an Alanis Morissette song. With "Everything" βthe first single from the artist's forthcoming album, "So-Called Chaos"βthe familiar elements are in place: intricate, provoking lyrics and quirky phrasing. The track is sung from the point of view of a person who is baffled that another can love them unconditionally, flaws and all: "You see everything . . . You dig everything of which I'm ashamed . . . And you're still here." Produced by Morissette and John Shanks, the music recalls other guitar-wielding ladies that Shanks has worked with (Michelle Branch, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge). The simple if somewhat unremarkable music acts as a supporting player to the real star of the show: Morissette's moving lyrics.βKC
