Looks as though they've FINALLY made up their mind what to follow-up "Heaven" with.
However, will it be too late to rescue "Birds of Pray" after a much tardied second single release, hence will "Run Away" fall victim as a single?
Or...can Live pull off another suprise hit on Hot AC?
My Prediction: #27
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I think your prediction is about right. This album is history and my guess is that radio programmers know this. Unless the single is excellent, I don't see it doing much.

I'm just glad they're releasing anything. However, this isn't my preferred song to release. I'll say #35 if it makes the chart.

I was hoping for "Out to Dry".. that's the perfect radio song, especially for Hot AC.
I think Run Away could do fairly decent if radio programmers decide to play it. It's a nice comfortable sounding song.

Wow it took them long enough to release a follow up. I hope it doesn't get lost in the shuffle

Is Shelby Lynn on the album version too?

Is Shelby Lynn on the album version too? No, she's not on the album version. The album version is ten times better than the one with Shelby Lynn. Have you heard the Shelby Lynn version on the radio, or where did you hear it?

It's on AllAccess.
My station played 'Heaven' a lot though but I doubt they'd play another Live song. It's kinda like Dido. She won't get another hit from her CD but they played 'White Flag' a lot too.

I wouldn't be 100% sure there. There is a big difference between Live and Dido's most recent releases: sales. "Life For Rent" is going on double platinum now while Live's "Birds of Pray" hasn't even went gold. Dido's sales are bound to encourage the release of another serious single, and I wouldn't be suprised if "Sand In My Shoes" or the title track earned her at least another Hot AC/AC hit. Meanwhile, Live are low on options to save "Birds of Pray", which is a shame since unlike Dido, their album is loaded with could-have-been hits: ("She", "Everytime I See Your Face", "Out To Dry") Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I definately think that this CD for Dido will be a one-hit-wonder. She *might* get a minor hit but I can't see another major hit from the album, like 'No Angel'.

Shelby Lynne turned a so-so Live song into a great duet!

I think I like this new version more. It gets rid of the falsetto, which I'm not usually a big fan of, plus I'm glad to see Shelby (a local artist for me) get some more exposure.

"Run Away" is not doing too bad. With almost 40 stations picking it up with a +170 bullet, it is entering Top 30 territory.
I heard the version with Shelby Lynne for the first time last night, it is great. Though I still have my doubts this will get even half the exposure "Heaven" got, it's a quality single (though "Everytime I See Your Face" or "She" would have been better singles being catchier and faster-paced)
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Just listened to the Birds of Prey album for the first time in a while today. It saddens me that this album was not a huge success for these guys. She and Everytime I See Your Face should be huge singles but I wonder if they will try another one after Run Away since it has been so long between singles. Run Away sucks with Shelby Lynn on it. Sorry but it's just my opinion. I was a fan of Shelby in her country days but the attitude she has does nothing for me, that and the fact she isn't a very good singer. Oh yeah, Sweet Release is my favorite song on the album. Was it released in another country? I wish it would here.

I may be wrong, but I think it was to Australia. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"Run Away" is getting a lot of airplay on the Mix in Chicago, as well as a bunch of other stations across the country. I think the stations not playing it are the ones that still have Heaven on their playlist. My prediction is it'll slowly climb the charts, just like Heaven did. It's at #26 right now, maybe in 26 weeks we'll see it near #1 .
