Live should wait to release their second North American single from "Birds of Pray" with "Heaven" maintaining a powerful bullet that can lift the single to as high as a #2 peak, and only recently cracking the Top 40 on CHR/Pop and having potential to take off abruptly any given moment perhaps, yet I see several more highly potential hits off the album.
I believe the strongest second single candidate would be "She". It is quite catchy and with its short duration can generate an excessive number of spins. However, some members on the Friends Of Live message board have mentioned though they love the track, they also complain it is too short and they'd like to see a track with a longer duration make the airwaves.
If "She" is not the second single, I believe "Everytime I See Your Face" would make the next best choice, followed by "Life Goes On"
What is Live's best strategy in your mind to follow-up "Heaven", their biggest hit in nearly a decade?
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I think "Sweet Release" is supposed to be the second single. It's the second international single already. I think "SR" would do really well, but really Live can't go wrong with this album.

"Sweet release" is the second single in Australia. Here, in Europe, is "Run away". One of those must be the second single in the U.S., more likely to be SR

Has there been ANY news about a second single? "Heaven" is pretty much done everywhere, so I would think they'd have something planned.

I hope that there is a second single. I hate the way some artists don't get the chance to release multiple single.

Who is it up to? Geffen or the band??
I hope there is a 2nd single; it's not too late...right now would be a good time!
Would they release it exclusively to HotAC or would they try for Alternative, like they initially did with Heaven? If it's exclusively for HotAC, I'd go for Run Away or Everytime I See Your Face. If not, I'd go for Like I Do!!
P.S. Would Like I Do be too heavy for Hot AC? It would definitely be a new sound for that format that might do well...

Yikes. That's one of my least favorite songs on the CD. There are much better songs on it.

I love "Run Away" but it is NOT a good choice. It was the second single in Europe... and for a reason. It's more Euro in style than American. Australia got "Sweet Release" and it generally seems US and Aussie music tastes are more similar then US and Euro music tastes. I would have hoped that meant we were getting "Sweet Release."

This doesn't necessarily mean "Run Away" will be the next single. Is Alternative Addiction that credible of a source (being the first to announce the 2nd single) ?
My choice would be "Everytime I See Your Face"... it has an incredible flow to it...just listen to it a couple times on repeat.. Wow!

I like this song, but I'm not sure if I see it as a second single. Certainly different from Heaven and certainly not like other songs I've heard from them.

Anyone ever hear of a second single? I saw somewhere this album hasn't sold 200,000 copies. That amazing to me. This is a great album. I love Sweet Release.

I'm surprised there's still no official word on a second release from the CD this far along. 'Heaven' did relatively well to warrent a secnd single. Maybe they don't know which format to focus on?

This is truly sad, and miserable on part of Live if this is true. Here they go, delivering their biggest hit in nearly a decade, being the first CHR/Pop Top 40 hit since the "Throwing Copper Era", and this album may be selling worse than any of their albums. I think Live has been deeply betrayed this year, especially by CHR/Pop. If they expect to top 200,000 in sales, they must announce the second single immediately, and hopefully it isn't "Run Away". "She", "Everytime I See Your Face", and "Sweet Release" are all promising candidates. "She" would generate more spins having a smaller duration while the other two are Live fan favorites currently. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

There's nothing about the second single for the U.S., but an Alternative Station has added "Run Away". I didn't spected this song to be the second single for the U.S., but I think this will be the chance taken by the discography or Live, or the one who takes this decision.

Face it, if there hasn't been one released yet, there won't be one.

Face it, if there hasn't been one released yet, there won't be one. If there has been a release in the rest of the world, where "Heaven" hasn't been as high in the charts as in the U.S.... why not in the U.S.??? I can't understand the reason

I wouldn't expect a second single to make the Billboard Hot 100, just like Jewel and Sheryl Crow had Hot Adult Contemporary hits with next singles that didn't make the Billboard Hot 100. "Heaven" peaked in the 30s on CHR-Pop, if another single is released I wouldn't expect it to make the CHR-Pop chart. I don't know if they're ever going to go Top 10 on Alternative again.

Live is sorely being ignored. There are many hits on this cd. The record company really needs to get their act together and start promoting a second single. Ive heards its "Run Away" but nothing is confirmed. It will not chart on alternative but may do well at pop and Hot AC. Live is at a crossroads because they are being shunned by alternative and pop is lukewarm. They need to make a push for Hot AC. "She" is a great song that probably could crossover at all formats but I doubt it will be released. "Like I Do" is the hardest song on the cd and it could hit alternative if programmers let it but would not chart pop or hot AC. The rest of the songs are middle of the road which would only chart on Hot AC. "Run Away could be a hit since "Heaven" was but it would need a much better video than "Heaven" was. The band is touring in Austraila now so maybe they are waiting until they come to tour the US to make another push for the cd. They will be headling the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl block party so maybe theyll be getting more attention.,

"Heaven" is losing spins at all formats, and if they're going to sell above 200,000 copies, they must hurry with the next release. Live could at least sell Uncle Kracker-esque quantities if they focus on Hot AC. Live has been one of the most underrated bands for quite some time (with the possible exception of "V"). Each of their releases have had a personality of their own ("Secret Samadhi" being very dark, "The Distance From Here" very soulful, and "V" sonic-infused). Sincerely, Noah Eaton
