This is a really good song. I will not settle for anything over #10.

I agree - this song gets better and better every time I listen to it - I think stations were initially reluctant to add it into heavy rotation b/c so many mediocre Goo Goo Dolls songs have been released recently - I agree with the comparison to "Iris" - this song needs time to build up, become a Top 5 hit at Hot AC, and then spread to Top 40 stations that lean Hot AC

It was the sure shot on Rick Dees this week. It debuted at #34 on AT40 this week.

I wonder if the "Transformers" connection will give it any more of an advantage when going for adds at CHR/Pop (which needs to happen in order to get the Goo Goo Dolls out of their "exclusive Hot AC rut" - it does have a new sound, and relatively simply lyrics (much easier for teens to get into than their previous 3 hits)

I agree! They're last 3 songs all peaked in the 40s on Pop. It's hard to believe how successful they once were on pop and now it would be an accomplishment to just crack into the Top 40.

It's hard to believe how successful they once were on pop That was before the Clear Channel Kiss "takeover" - Also, I think "Better Days" (although a great song) really was "catered" towards adult listeners only, and their next two singles just didn't sound like anything new The last Goo Goo Dolls track that CHR/Pop gave a fair chance was "Here Is Gone" - that's why I hope this new song, with much simpler lyrics that younger listeners can relate to and a different type of sound can bring them back to the Top 40 chart - Clear Channel Kiss stations won't play them, but I'm hoping that the more mainstream Top 40 stations give this song a chance

Fifth single off this album! Amazing ???[/quote] I'm only kidding...sort of. Since "Give A Little Bit" and "Better Days" are on the Let Love In album, we're technically up to single #5.

Not sure if you knew that this song is NOT on the CD "Let Love In" - it's only on the "Transformers" soundtrack :)

Thanks! I guess they're done pushing the record and Without You Here won't be a single?

Don't think "Without You Here" is going to do much of anything if they release it - anyway, I'm banking on "Before It's Too Late" to be a huge hit (I hope)!

The video for this song is incredible!!!
This has gotta go Top 5 Hot AC, and I really think once it does Top 40 is gonna give it a chance (esp. b/c a lot of markets don't have Hot AC's) - it just might take a while
This is so much more relatable (sp?) to younger listeners than "Better Days"

I'm still loving this... Actually, I think I love this more than Let Love In. This one doesn't get old that fast for me.

Anyone else think the lyric: "I wandered through fiction to look for the truth, buried beneath all the lies" strikes resemblence to the lyric from "Iris": "the moment of truth in you lies" ?
Just thought they are awfully similar.

17 16 GOO GOO DOLLS Before It's Too Late... 2007 Warner Bros. 1281 1170 +111 5.716
If it keeps rising at this speed it should make the top 15 this week and then top 10 by mid-August.

Another lyrical observation I made is that "A life you don't live is still lost" (THINK that's it) is just like "Don't you love the life you killed" from "Slide".
Not sure if anyone sees the connection with these I've been posting, but I do (especially the truth/lies one).

The Goo Goo Dolls have often gotten a lot of slack for sounding too much like their previous songs - I remember when people said "Slide" just sounded like a sped-up version of "Name"
This song IMO gets better w/ every listen - I'm really hoping it hits Top 3 on Hot AC so CHRs will give the GGD another chance
