They should just pretend this album never happened, and move on to the next one.

They should just pretend this album never happened, and move on to the next one. I actually think "Barenaked Ladies Are Me" is a decent album of theirs, probably their best since "Stunt". The Barenaked Ladies have continued to mature this era, but they maintain some of their humorous appeal. Moreover, the bassist Jim Creeggan and pianist Kevin Hearn have grown very much this era in taking stabs at their own songwriting (generally Steven Page and Ed Robertson have always dominated the songwriting duties) and they actually wrote some of the album's best songs in my opinion, particularly this track, "Peterborough and the Kawarthas" and "Serendipity". Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I think this particular song is their best in years. I haven't heard anything else except 'Wind It Up' a few times and their first single. This one almost has a Beatlesque sound to it.

Since their earlier pre-Stunt days, they've always been hit-and-miss single-wise, where some singles they've released are excellent ("Call And Answer", "Maybe Katie") and others are more mediocre ("Another Postcard", "Falling For The First Time") This is one of their best post-Stunt singles to date. Oops, I meant from this album. But I haven't heard anything except their singles from past albums too. lol. They're generally hit-and-miss for me as well, but most of the time, they're a miss. Going to their older stuff, I like most of the singles from their second album (like 'Jane' and 'Alternative Girlfriend') and I like 'The Old Apartment' quite a bit and I do like 'One Week'. I'd say they have more than 5 but less than 10 songs that I like.
