Jewel has announced this week that a Greatest Hits will come out soon, probably still this year. Still no news if it will include both Atlantic and Valory singles, but a tracklist should come out soon.
Jewel's singles in order of release:
1. Who Will Save Your Soul 2. You Were Meant For Me (2 different radio edits) 3. Foolish Games (radio edit) 4. Morning Song (limited release only) 5. Hands 6. Down So Long 7. Jupiter (remix) 8. What's Simple Is True 9. Standing Still 10. Break Me (remix) 11. This Way (remix) 12. Serve The Ego (remixes to dance charts) 13. Intuition 14. Stand 15. 2 Become 1 16. Goodbye Alice In Wonderland (video) 17. Again and Again 18. Good Day 19. Only One Too (remixes to dance charts) 20. Stephenville, TX (video) 21. Stronger Woman 22. I Do 23. Til It Feels Like Cheating 24. Stay Here Forever 25. No Good In Goodbye (video) (thanks Em!) 26. Satisfied 27. Ten
I hope I didn't miss any. Anyway, I doubt it will include all of them, of course, but I hope they do a real nice package, maybe include a few unreleased tracks, a DVD of all the videos, stuff like that.

She's not the type to do anything just to do it, so I hope/think she will give us some new songs...unless this is a label release.

She's doing promo right now for her children's book...is that where she announced it? I can't find anything on it.

For me, this is completely unnecessary, since I own every one of her releases, including a couple CD singles. However, for the general masses, great idea!

Same here, but hopefully they'll include all of the radio mixes because, especially early on, she remixed most of her stuff for the "single versions". I own all of the promo singles so I made my GH a long time ago...

Whoa! Even if it's 5 years too late, I'm excited about this! I totally lost any hope for this, great that she probably managed to convince her old label to do it. But of course it's not gonna make a dent and will probably fail to chart.

I don't really like most of her album tracks except for the 0304 album, which is not her usual type of record. So this might be a buy for me.

It is about time! I also own all of her albums (except the holiday one) and while I've pretty much lost interest in her since about 2004, I'd still be excited about a hits one. I'm thinking it's not a record label one because a) she's announcing it herself and b) why wouldn't they have put one out years ago? It's not like they needed Jewel for anything just to tack all of her hits on one CD and sell it in stores. I'm hoping there are a few new songs on there that aren't country.
I also think a Jewel GHs is an essential as long as they include all of the radio versions of the songs rather than the album versions. If it's the album versions, it's a completely wasted opportunity. I'll also wait until there's further confirmation because a greatest hits has been rumoured for a few years now.

I'm pretty sure Jewel does not own the 1995-2006 recordings and it's usually the label who sees quick cash in GHs, not the artist. But yes, a GH has been rumored a couple of times already, let's hope it's true now!

There's a new song of hers on iTunes called Flowers. Not sure where it's from but judging from the cover, it's a continuation of her country music.

Save The Linoleum is a classic! As is Flower! This new version has added lyrics and yes, a country feel to it. But it's still lovely.
Jewel said on Twitter that the Greatest Hits will come out next year and she's thinking of titles for it. And some exciting news, she said she's working on a dance pop song, but didn't say it was for the GH. We shall see.

Yes! I need new Jewel in my life. Love her to death but I just don't get down with country though she's had a few songs in recent years I adore. I need dance pop Jewel.

Jewel and Kelly Clarkson?! Interesting. Jewel hasn't been relevant since Kelly Clarkson came out so it'll be like a mixture of generations.

I hope the song with Kelly Clarkson sounds like something from the early 90s and it's basically stripped acoustic guitars with killer vocals

Jewel twitted that she recorded 2 brand new songs for the GH, titled "The Sound of Two Hearts Breaking" and "Dance Sing Laugh Love". The 1st one is supposed to be old-school Jewel and the 2nd one a pop number. She also revealed she'll record an old unreleased fan-favorite song for the GH, but didn't say much else.
Also, she is recording new versions of her old hits, I'm not sure why, since she said all the songs in the GH will be the radio edits and not the album versions. Maybe she'll include a 2nd CD with updated versions of the old hits.
And for last, she plans on doing a tour in March-May to support the release, so I'd say that's when the GH will come out.

Interesting. She's not with her old label anymore, is she? I have wondered whether a Greatest Hits would be from her or the label if one ever came out, or is Valore somehow associated with Atlantic, or however those labels are merged now since the changes in the last few years. If she's not with her label anymore, she wouldn't be allowed to release her old recordings without permission from the label which would explain why she'd record new versions. But then you mentioned that the CD will have the radio mixes and not the album versions so... I dunno. Looking forward to it tho!

Jewel said the new cut of You Were Meant For Me has a special guest. Maybe that's the Kelly Clarkson duet. Maybe she's not re-cutting all the hits, just this one.
About the labels thing, yeah, she hasn't said anything about it. She's still with Valory, I wonder if they got an agreement with Atlantic.

Press release!!! JEWEL SHINES ON FIRST EVER GREATEST HITS ALBUM 16-Track Collection Spans The Singer-Songwriter’s Multi-Platinum Career Also Features Two Newly Recorded Versions Of Hits With Guest Vocals By Kelly Clarkson And The Pistol Annies, Plus One Brand New Jewel Single Available February 5 From Rhino Acclaimed American singer-songwriter-poet, Jewel has enjoyed career longevity rare among her generation of artists. Since achieving international stardom 18 years ago, the Alaskan beauty has emerged as a charismatic live performer and a respected songwriter with 10 studio albums to her credit. She’s earned four Grammy® nominations along the way, the most recent for her 2010 country ballad, “Satisfied.” Rhino brings together Jewel’s best for her first ever career-spanning collection that includes new recordings of two classic hits with guest vocalists: “Foolish Games” with Kelly Clarkson and “You Were Meant For Me” with the Pistol Annies. The collection also includes one brand new single which will be revealed in the coming weeks. Jewel’s GREATEST HITS will be available February 5 on CD ($18.98) and digitally ($9.99). Signed to Atlantic Records before she was 19, Jewel has sold more than 27 million albums during her career. Her 1995 debut, Pieces of You, dominated the charts for with “Who Will Save Your Soul,” “You Were Meant For Me” and “Foolish Games” on its way to selling more than 12 million copies in the U.S. alone. Her next two albums – 1998’s Spirit and 2001’s This Way – both went platinum while introducing fans to hits like “Jupiter,” “Hands,” “Standing Still” and “Break Me.” Jewel switched directions in 2003 with 0304, an album that fused elements of electronic and folk to create a delightfully quirky mix epitomized by the contrast of dance beats and accordion on the single “Intuition,” which became a huge hit single on both the dance and pop charts. “Good Day” is taken from Jewel’s fifth top 10 album, 2006’s Goodbye Alice In Wonderland, an album on which each song was a chapter in an overarching story. In 2009, Jewel recorded Lullaby at her home in Stephenville, Texas. This best selling children’s album – her first of two so far – mixed originals with standards like her stunning cover of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” She followed up Lullaby with, The Merry Goes ‘Round which was named iTunes “Children’s Album of the Year” in 2011. Jewel topped the Billboard country album chart in 2008 with her first country album, Perfectly Clear, which is represented on this collection by the Top 15 single “Stronger Woman.” Her second country album, 2010’s Sweet and Wild, included the Grammy nominated-single “Satisfied.” JEWEL - GREATEST HITS Track Listing (Not Sequenced) “Who Will Save Your Soul” “You Were Meant For Me” “Foolish Games” “Hands” “Down So Long” “Jupiter” “Standing Still” “Break Me” “Intuition” “Good Day” “Stronger Woman” “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” “Satisfied”“ Foolish Games” – with Kelly Clarkson "You Were Meant For Me” – with the Pistol Annies New Single (details to be announced shortly) Additionally, the first leg of Jewel's Greatest Hits tour will begin in March in the below cities with tickets going on sale on December 14th.
