Interesting...the Bigger Picture Group successor, Star Farm Nashville, has partnered with Show Dog-Universal for radio promotion. From Country Aircheck:
If I'm understanding it correctly, it's 2 separate labels/promo teams but it sounds like they will help out to promote each other's singles?

I'm hopeful that this will benefit both parties, especially Show Dog-Universal cause I'm sick of seeing good songs by JT Hodges and Joel Crouse get wasted.

I hope this means some more promo will go to Joel Crouse.

It's a way of getting SD-U's artists more exposure on the charts that they deserve. Get more teams calling on their artists to get major hits. Theoretically with two other labels dropping (3 if you count Bigger Picture) then there should be "less competition" now.

Ryan Kinder has signed to Warner Nashville Yes yes yes yes yes!!! You have no idea how happy this makes me. I knew Warner was looking at him back during CMA Fest. I don't know if they'll try to re-launch "Kiss Me When I'm Down" but they really should. It's a phenomenal song, and with WMN backing him now, Ryan could have a big hit with that song. My guess is that they'll go with a different single though...but at least he's got a big label home now!!

I enjoyed the song as well, but usually labels (especially one as big as Warner) like to start fresh with an artist, with a new unheard song of their choosing. But that's not the most important thing here. It's that somebody who was deserving of a record deal has gotten the second chance they deserved. Congrats to Ryan.

Singer/songwriter Levi Hummon has signed to The Valory Music Co. He's the son of Marcus Hummon, who was an artist on Columbia Nashville 20 years ago. Marcus wrote "Bless The Broken Road," "One Of These Days," "Born To Fly," "Ready To Run" and more. roughstock.com/news/valory-music-co-signs-levi-hummon/

Announcement posted today.... Marcus Hummon's (#1 Hit Songwriter and legendary songwriter in Nashville) son Levi Hummon has been signed by Borchetta. This is actually a good signing for Borchetta because Levi is super talented and his father will be there to help guide him along the way as well. Levi Hummon signs with ValoryOriginally Marcus and Levi formed "The Hummons" and were pursuing getting signed as a band, but just recently they switched it to Levi going solo (most likely because of this possible signing as a solo artist was already in the works). Here's a video of The Hummons with Levi singing

Interesting comment on the future “As our Country format ebbs and flows, it’s always so important from an A&R perspective to look past what’s happening now and make some moves on the future direction,” said BMLG President & CEO Scott Borchetta. “Levi’s unique vision and incredible artistry is exactly the kind of musical move we want to make now. This is a very significant artist signing.” Til his single tanks & Borchetta drops him like a hot potato. Sorry , sorry. I'm jaded , I know.

gurustu, I know you are a relatively new member (and welcome, by the way--I have enjoyed your contributions!), but we don't really need a new thread for every artist signing--that's what the "Record Labels & Artist Rosters" thread is for, and it can be found here. I allowed threads for Garth and Trisha since those were big newsworthy signings, but otherwise we keep track of all other artist signings (or departures) in the Record Labels & Artist Rosters thread. Thanks. ** Edited to add that I've moved this post (and the 3 immediately above it) into their proper thread.

Here's a video of The Hummons with Levi singing Yes, they were trying for a duo thing but when one realizes how family duos/trios with parents aren't really working at the moment, it makes the most sense to go with the young kid as the artist and there's nothing stopping him from having his dad produce and co-write and tour with him.

Totally agree with you there rsmatto, and nothing wrong with that. I'm expecting Marcus and the BMLG team to really help this kid shine. At least, I like what they've put out so far, hoping for more and better.

Phil Vassar has signed with PLA Media. They will handle public relations and marketing. All AccessDon't quite know if this is a label or if he will need to hire outside help for radio promotion (I'm assuming so).

So, Ryan Kinder has landed elsewhere as noted above. Any rumblings about where others from BIGGER PICTURE GROUP may land? I'm particularly interested in Craig Campbell. It will soon be 4 months since BPG shuttered on May 8. Should I start worrying? Craig really is my favorite new artist of the last few years. First album was great, second was quite good.

He may be looking for a place that'll give him a similar label structure. He WILL land somewhere, it's just a case of when/where.

Second, I have to correct you on something: Either you are alive and well OR on Curb Records. Can't have it both ways!
