The SoundScan drops will be less than HITS' drops.

Yah, 80%+ is rare. MDNA's second-week decline was 86.7%, to be precise. Drops of 70% or more in week two is becoming the standard average. Back in the 90s, second-week drops also were softened by mass merchant outlets having a different sales week than other reporters (Saturday-Friday, vs. the traditional Monday-Sunday). That changed in late 1998, when all reporters were on the same sales cycle. Of course, in the digital age, factors such as iTunes and the ability to by individual album tracks has impacted albums' second-week drops (negatively). Also, there are discounted albums that might drop from top ten to out of chart meaning at least 95% drop. (But not from 1st week to 2nd) 11 31 KILLERS ISLAND/IDJ 14,243 -49% BATTLE BORN Not very good, shame as it's their best album to date imo.

Muse also lower than I expected. I thought their last era was a bit of a breakthrough mainstream-wise, yet I think they did better with their opening week for The Resistance. I see that, but The Resistance was also the start of a bigger backlash against Muse. I think they've been losing some fans during these last two albums.
