Confirmed as Phillips's second single by a label rep, though it won't be released until after the freeze (good!).

I just listened to this. I really like it, but it's not nearly as instant/accessible as Home, mainly the intro of the song. It'll be big on HAC and maybe AAA. I could see it performing similarly to "Don't Stop (Color On The Walls)" on CHR.

I hope they let Home reach top 10 before pushing this

This sounds very good. I love it! I agree though, they need to wait until "Home" has peaked & died, which may not be until late January.

Obvious choice. Should be as huge as Home.

Love this song and good choice, but I think "Where We Came From" would've been better.

A male Idol with a hit single getting a strong follow-up single? I won't believe it till it actually happens! No really, I'm very happy with how they seem to be handling Phillip's career so far.

I haven't checked out the album, but this seems to be a good choice. It's smart to do a "Home"-like sounding single again since this type of music has been popular right now (even if Phillip is a watered down version...)

Perfect choice, and they're waiting until after the freeze? Even better.
This will do wonders.

A male Idol with a hit single getting a strong follow-up single? I won't believe it till it actually happens! No really, I'm very happy with how they seem to be handling Phillip's career so far. Well, lately every idol (not named Kelly) has problems to have a hit on pop (even a minor one). In my opinion Phillip has a big advantage with his coronation song doing so well, because the first single (non coronation) usually do well (the last reference were Live like we're dying and Whataya want from me, both quite decent hits). So i expect Gone, gone, gone to be at least top 20. If they delay the adds date to january it will be a good idea, they give time to Home to peak, and unless it suddenly crash it will reach top 10 for sure (there are a good bunch of top 10 songs free falling right now). And release a new single after a big hit is always easier, and more when the new song has potential, and i think this one has it

I like this song a lot. I think the Mumford sound suits him a bit better than the Dave Matthews sound.

Love this song and good choice, but I think "Where We Came From" would've been better. Agree with this - Gone Gone Gone sounds like Home, Part 2 Plus the music goes completely dead during the bridge... I think Where We Came From is a much better song, but I'm not sure either one is cut out to be a pop hit - IMO both could do well at Hot AC

I love WWCF. Hopefully it'll get released as single #3 no matter how GGG does.

Love this and love the album. It's been too long since someone who is both a singer AND an artist finally won Idol

I like this song a lot. I think the Mumford sound suits him a bit better than the Dave Matthews sound. I do too. I know he prefers DM, but he sounds much more believable singing M&S type folk songs. Whenever he gets into Dave Matthews mode, he imitates DM so much he loses all originality. I love WWCF. Hopefully it'll get released as single #3 no matter how GGG does. WWCF is maybe my least favorite track on the album. It's like Phillip wrote the verse, the other guy the chorus, and both parts were shoved together in the studio. The final result clashes. GGG on the other hand is the perfect follow-up. It should do really well.

Love this and love the album. It's been too long since someone who is both a singer AND an artist finally won Idol I think it was exactly his artistry (and of course the cute factor) what makes him win idol, because vocally there were contestants more gifted than him. I hope this will do well, Home is a great single and this is a very good follow up. It's time for an Idol winner to have a couple of hits on pop

Phillips is scheduled to appear on Idol at the end of the month. He should perform GGG then. I'm guessing GGG should be released to radio around that time, but no date's been announced yet. Is it already too late for an end of January release date?

Is it already too late for an end of January release date? How would he appear on Idol? The live shows don't usually begin until March. The first couple of weeks consist of auditions and Hollywood week, unless they're completely changing the format this year. :o

That would mean no performance, though
