Confirmed by AllAccess as the second single from Unorthodox Jukebox.
(mods: obviously feel free to merge this with the already-closed thread if you'd like)

What's wrong, did you recently broke up w/ somebody? As for the song, I like it a lot, and definitely more than "Locked Out of Heaven," though it makes me sad. :'(

What's wrong, did you recently broke up w/ somebody? I had 4 other songs from UJ I wanted as singles and this sure as hell wasn't one of them.

I like it but would much rather have other songs as singles.

Was the melody inspired by Elton John's Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word?

I guess his hit streak ends now, unless some kind of miracle happens. I would've much preferred "Young Girls", "Treasure", or "Moonshine".

Considering this already took TWO separate trips into the Top 10 on iTunes before even being a single, and considering "Locked Out Of Heaven" is the first song in forever to cross 200M audience impressions, I don't see how this isn't going to be a hit. It should help shift albums too.

I thought this was already confirmed awhile ago. Anyway, this is going to be huge. Perfect choice.

I thought this was already confirmed awhile ago. It was, but it wasn't confirmed by All Access until today, so that's why there wasn't a thread here until now.

I don't think this should have been selected as the second single, but if it means "Young Girls" won't be released, then I'm fine with the decision. Just give me "Treasure" for the spring/summer.

I echo the comments made by people above. This is trying too hard to be a catchy, effective, piano-only ballad. It's not quite as melodic or as well-written as some of the other songs on his album.

I honestly think this will be his 1st single to miss the Top 10, but I do see this song furthering solidifying him as an artist. It's a win-win situation, TBH.

I don't have UJ, but I happen to like this as his second single. I'm sure it will be a hit. I can see this being big.

Weren't most people here saying "Locked Out Of Heaven" wasn't a hit?

Weren't most people here saying "Locked Out Of Heaven" wasn't a hit? I'm not sure, but I DO like this better than "Locked Out of Heaven". It was more of a rhetorical question. Most people here were saying "Locked Out Of Heaven" wasn't catchy and was going to be his least successful single, and now that's the same thing going on in here.

Weren't most people here saying "Locked Out Of Heaven" wasn't a hit? Yeah. And I thought "It Will Rain" would flop (I think you did too?) and "The Lazy Song" would just be a moderate hit. I haven't even heard this song, but judging from the iTunes success it's had so far and Bruno's excellent hit streak, I don't see how this could do poorly.

To be honest, it seems whatever Bruno Mars releases whether catchy or not, goes high on the charts. (Unless somebody knows something I don't.)

I have never really liked Bruno's music and this is probably my favorite song that I have heard from him. That being said it doesn't scream radio hit, but who knows? Radio loves him and has also been sending some songs top 10 that I didn't think sounded like typical radio bait.

His first 3 singles all sounded like hits to me. His last two were not immediate for me.

If "It Will Rain" was a pop number one, then I don't see why this won't be a hit. It's got a great melody in the chorus. It does have a mellow vibe, but if there's a male artist that could pull that off it's Bruno. I'm predicting another top 5 to add to that streak. :)
