I'm curious what the last 1970s/80s/90s album, not charting in recent times (or tied to a passing), was certified.

^Thanks. Metallica albums sometimes appear on the catalog chart- no doubt in part because the band has not released a compilation album.

^Metallica left WBR so they certified a bunch of stuff.
Unfortunately, they certified more digital singles than album.
They certified about 8 singles and only 2 albums. They have 2-3 under-certified albums.

Can't believe "Red" is already 4x platinum. Glad to see Lana get a Gold certification. That 10-minute video for "Ride" probably pushed Lana across the gold line. If that song and video had come 20 or 25 years earlier (given the music and sound that existed at the time), it would have been a huge hit.

Those multiple "Rhianna" misspellings are annoying me. No Luke "Brian" or "Lincoln" Parks on that list. They even included the stylized form for fun. But Rihanna gets no such luck, no matter how many times she appears on these lists.

^Multiple? There's two.
In this case, I think it's more important I get the certification level right.

Trilogy platinum! :O It's really sold 400k+? Damn. Not too shabby for 3 free mixtapes and only 3 new songs!
Hmm, I'm only seeing it at ~344k, pretty early to be certified.

^It's 3cds. RIAA counts each cd as 1 album.
1 album sold = 3 albums sold. 344k x 3 albums sold = 1 million units shipped.

^It's 3cds. RIAA counts each cd as 1 album. 1 album sold = 3 albums sold. 344k x 3 albums sold = 1 million units shipped. I thought it was based on minutes of audio? 100+ minutes was counted as 2 CDs? So then how are 2-disc deluxe editions counted? Now I'm intrigued.

^Is there 100 minutes of audio on all 3?? I'm sure there is.

^Is there 100 minutes of audio on all 3?? I'm sure there is. It's about 160 minutes. I thought someone before said it's only considered a double disc if it passes 100 minutes, and then I would think 200 for triple disc, etc.

^I think 160 minutes would be enough. With Platinum certifications kind of rare today for new albums and if a label wants to pay for a certification, I don't think the RIAA is going to be too picky.

Surprising to me because how many more collections/greatest hits are they going to release and they still sell. Incredible
