YOUR ONE-DAYS: Luke Bryan will score his first #1 album on next week's chart and give Capitol Nashville its first #1 since Lady Antebellum debuted on top in September 2011. Here are this week's key debuts:
Luke Bryan (Capitol Nashville) 105-120k Jimi Hendrix (Legacy) 65-70k Boz Scaggs (429) 12-15k Shake It Up 3 (Disney) 10-12k How To Destroy Angels (Columbia) 10-12k
You may have noticed that Jimi Hendrix will have the second-biggest bow of the week, despite having shuffled off this mortal coil almost 43 years ago. People, Hell & Angels will apparently be the final album of unreleased studio material from the guitar god, who would've have turned 70 last year; it includes tracks he worked on in 1968-69 while developing the more groove-based sound he unveiled with his Band of Gypsys lineup. No matter the context, his playing still astonishes.

Great numbers for Luke, considering almost all of the songs on this record were already available on his previous Spring Break EPs. I can't wait to see how many copies his next studio album sells in its first week. With a strong lead single, I think he'll be able to reach or surpass 200k pretty easily. Tailgates & Tanlines debuted with about 145k, and his momentum has only increased since then.

Nice for sales!! I was wondering when will we get another decent opening before JT. Bon Jovi has an album out next week and they'll probably get above 100k. David Bowie's new one is out too, but I don't know how that one's going to debut. Seems like it has good pre-order sales.

^ Neither Brad nor The Band Perry should have any problem debuting with over 100k.

This year, two albums have stayed at number one for more than one week, but both were released in 2012 and both had occupied the top position for several weeks already.
Of the albums we know about this year, which are most likely to get there and remain there for two weeks or more?

Wow @ Luke Bryan. It's not even a studio album. It's just a compilation of material from his past few Spring Break EP's...those were new material but this new 'album' has only 2 new songs on it.

Looks like HITS has upgraded the prediction to 120-130k!! HUGE sales for an album with only 2 new songs. :o Imagine what'd happen if Luke released an album with all new songs. Country may have found their next big male superstar. :)
* Luke Bryan (Capitol Nashville) 120-130k * Jimi Hendrix (Legacy) 65-70k Bruno Mars (Atlantic) 40-45k Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 35-40k Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (Macklemore) 27-30k Rihanna (Def Jam/IDJ) 24-27k Florida Georgia Line (Big Machine/Republic) 22-25k Now 45 (Capitol) 22-25k Imagine Dragons (Interscope) 22-25k Andrea Bocelli (Verve) 22-25k Lumineers (Dualtone) 22-25k Adele (XL/Columbia) 19-22k Fun. (Fueled By Ramen) 19-22k Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 19-22k P!nk (RCA) 17-20k Josh Groban (Reprise) 17-20k Alabama Shakes (ATO) 17-20k

Just observing - Kelly's Greatest Hits would be #2 last week or this week with its first week sales. but instead its peak is #11 :'(

Except for the fact it debuted in Q4, with heightened sales. It was actually Black Friday week.
It wouldn't sell nearly as much if it debuted this time of the year...

It would've probably ended up with a similar peak and lower sales. Maybe if they waited until "Catch My Breath" was higher in airplay and sales, it would've had a higher peak.

He's gonna be as popular as Jason Aldean is, if Luke's not already there yet. The Spring Break album has only 2 new tracks and no singles...when he comes with all new songs and a hit lead single (because anything of his will be a hit), I expect that next studio album to explode.

Nice to see Bruno, Rihanna, and P!nk still doing so well. All three of them have proven to be quite the consistent sellers over the last couple years.

Luke's estimates are excellent for an album with two new songs, higher than what Blake's last studio album opened with (though it will be embarrassing if his new album later this month doesn't increase from his 2011 effort). Blake is severely overhyped, I really enjoy watching other male country stars come up and blow right past him in album and concert ticket sales without seeming to try nearly as hard as he does...

NEXT week: www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/1551344/justin-timberlakes-the-2020-experience-eyeing-half-million-debut-salesJustin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience' Eyeing Half-Million Debut Sales Week By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | March 11, 2013 Justin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience' Eyeing Half-Million Debut Sales Week Justin Timberlake's long-awaited album "The 20/20 Experience" doesn't go on sale for another week, but industry sources say it's going to have a blockbuster debut on the Billboard charts. Those in the know suggest the album could sell at least 500,000 copies in its debut week, easily securing Timberlake his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. "20/20's" half-million forecast could grow even larger once the album reaches retailers. The RCA Records set, due on March 19 in the United States, could score the best sales week for an album in four months. The last title to sell more than 500,000 in a week was One Direction's "Take Me Home," which opened with 540,000 after its release on Nov. 13, 2012, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Since the start of 2012, only four albums sold in excess of a half-million in a week: "Take Me Home;" Mumford & Sons' "Babel" in its debut frame (600,000); Adele's "21" in the first full week after the 2012 Grammy Awards (730,000); and Taylor Swift's "Red" in its debut (1.2 million). The last solo male artist to sell more than 500,000 in a week was Drake, when his "Take Care" album debuted with 631,000 on the chart dated Dec. 3, 2011. Timberlake's last studio album, 2006's "FutureSex/LoveSounds," sold 684,000 in its first week, and debuted at No. 1.
