Allure: "Head Over Heels" (#35), "All Cried Out" (#4) Az Yet: "Last Night" (#9), "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" (#8) Blaque: "808" (#8), "Bring It All To Me" (#5) Shout out to these six flawless hits. Odd seeing certain acts like Counting Crows and John Legend on this list. Just another example of how inaccurate the charts can be at times. the chart is accurate in the sense of how it is measured. This sort of stuff ties to just how subjective one-hot or two-hit wonders are. If you use a strict statistical criteria and nothing else, you need to logic a bit for some of the exceptions (like any act who built a career on albums and not singles - Garth Brooks is not a one-hit wonder and Pink Floyd is not a 2-hit wonder - for example) Or an act who released radio-only songs during mid 90s and only released occasional singles should not be on this list

Enya is an act who has impressive album sales even though most casual listeners are just familiar with "Orinoco Flow" and "Only Time."

a bump for the graduating season: Vitamin C: AND THE MEGA REMEBERED ANTHEM... Graduation (Friends Forever) - 38 Hard to believe it peaked that low. By how much it was played in 2000, I would have thought top 5 easily. It's like that with Mandy Moore's "Candy", a song that peaked much lower than I thought it did.

"Graduation" did get to #12 in Radio & Records, which is probably closer to the mark in terms of how much it was played, albeit for a brief period (it peaked in June 2000, right at graduation time). VC did have two other top 40 hits in R&R in addition to those mentioned, though. I recall "Smile" being in a commercial around that time (for Hershey's chocolate?); I also heard it just two days ago in the stylist/barber's chair in the Hair Cuttery, of all places.

once again its hard bc i hate this "rule" if it was top 40 it counts. i think the song needs to be remembered to count.
I think EXTREME was a great example HOLE HEARTED and MORE THAN WORDS were both big hits. Also I think Paula Cole is a good example and Tracy Chapman.
Those people truly have 2 songs that people know and remember and were actually hit songs.
Sophie B Hawkins is another good one.

Wow, "Accidentally In Love" only peaked at 39? That song seemed like a bigger hit. And when Slizzard mentioned The Cranberries, I was shocked "Dreams" didn't even hit the Top 40.

Jeremih officially has a third hit . I never thought he'd even have success after birthday sex. Good for him keeping his career going
John legend also smashed with all of me giving him a third big hit

No one has mentioned one of my favorites, Tara Kemp, whose "Hold You Tight" (#3) and "Piece Of My Heart" (#7) were big hits, but her third and last single "Too Much" stalled at #93.
Then, Brenda K. Starr also had only two Top 40 hits: "I Still Believe" and "What You See Is What You Get", although she came close with the 49-peaking "No Matter What" with George Lamond.
Also, as per the thread creator's rules of only two Top 40 singles, Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance" and "I'll Think Of A Reason Later" were her only T40 hits, but I'd never consider her a two-hit wonder.
