YOUR ONE-DAYS: As of this morning, it appears that Paramore will score the #1 album on next week's chart. The battle looks like it will be for #2 between Brad Paisley and Justin Timberlake. Here are this week's key debuts:
Paramore (Fueled By Ramen) 105-115k Brad Paisley (Arista Nashville) 90-100k Eric Church (Capitol Nashville) 45-50k Tyga (Republic) 45-50k Device (Warner Bros.) 35-40k Volbeat (Republic) 35-40k Stone Sour (Roadrunner) 35-40k James Blake (Republic) 12-14k

He keeps releasing the same damn single over and over. It's a much poorer project than the last. His last was the best YMCMB release since Drake's Take Care. Very diverse production and guest. Also :'( for Paramore. They deserve that #1.

I expect Brad to sell more considering the amount of media coverage he has had this week.

I expect Brad to sell more considering the amount of media coverage he has had this week. I doubt it. He'll be lucky if he cracks 100k. He's been getting some publicity, but it's mostly been bad (in regards to "Accidental Racist", and the album reviews have been mixed too). I know bad publicity can still increase sales too but I don't think it'll do all that much here. The album he created isn't the type of music that people want to hear these days. Most people seem to be just buying a couple tracks (notably "Accidental Racist" and many of his hardcore fans are passing on the album.

yeah, i at first thought brad would be doing better too, until i heard about the flack over "accidental racist." haven't listened to the song itself yet, am just now getting a chance to read the lyrics. it's interesting, to say the least.
happy paramore broke 100k though! i wasn't sure they would.

Good for Paramore. I'm shocked that they've retained so much of their fanbase since 2009. Plus, they 'deserve' the #1 since it was taken from them last time.

Brad Paisley Headed For Eighth Top 10 Album On Billboard 200 ChartCountry superstar Brad Paisley is aiming for his eighth top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart next week. The singer's new "Wheelhouse" could bow at either No. 2 or No. 3, depending on how the rest of the week shakes out. Industry sources suggest the set might sell around 95,000. Rock band Paramore should debut at No. 1 next week with its new album. The effort, the trio's first since 2009, may sell around 100,000 to 110,000. The current week's champ on the Billboard 200, Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience," might slip to No. 2 with maybe 95,000 to 100,000.
There's a chance Timberlake could hold at No. 1 for a fourth week, although it would seem the odds are in Paramore's favor to bump JT from the top.Justin's back on top on iTunes and Amazon. This could get interesting.

The bulk of the new release sales happen the first few days, so I think JT returning to #1 on iTunes/Amazon most likely won't mean anything. Increased chance to get #2, but still probably unlikely for #1.

New albums' sales usually are front-loaded, so the predictions probably take into account that Paramore may not have been No. 1 at some outlets come the weekend.

I think it was something like HITS had one set of sales that had Paramore at #1, but then the Billboard report said they were at #2? Either way it was close.

Barbra Streisand Surprises With Ninth No. 1 On Billboard 200While many were focused on a battle between Paramore's "Brand New Eyes" and Mariah Carey's "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" for the top slot on the Billboard 200 this week, Barbra Streisand trumps them both. "Love Is the Answer" earns Streisand her ninth No. 1 on the chart, opening with 180,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. The debut extends Streisand's lead as the female act with the most No. 1s in the history of the Billboard 200. It's also the her best sales week and highest charting album since 1997, when "Higher Ground" started at No. 1 with 207,000. "Answer" beats the arrivals of Paramore's "Brand New Eyes," which enters at No. 2 with 175,000, and Mariah Carey's "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," arriving at No. 3 with 168,000. First-week sales projections had estimated that Paramore would finish ahead of the two divas. As it turns out, Streisand surprised many with how well her album sold in non-traditional ways -- such as through Starbucks, QVC and via her Web site -- and that likely threw a wrench into forecasting sales.

Didn't Barbra sell copies off her website, which I don't think HITS counted, and SS did. Ontop of all that, Mariah missing #1 that week, it was the most ridiculous HITS threads ever lol.

Those are larger numbers though, so a larger gap is to be expected.

That was one of my all-time favorite moments especially since I believe most people assumed Mariah had the easy #1 in the bag. It was an interesting couple of days!
