Brand new Daft Punk single "Get Lucky" arrives on the airwaves this Friday. What will this do on CHR? Was "One More Time" their last and only CHR hit? Coming off of the EDM boom i'm intrigued to see how well this will chart. Will this have Swedish House Mafia like success? This could be one of the big singles of the Summer. Will this have instant adds now that Daft Punk are much better known than the last time they released an album? The promo machine seems to be working hard for them this time. Who else have had multiple SNL advertisements that have gone viral? Confirmation sent from All Access this morning clients.allaccess.com/mail/D/daft-punk/daft-punk-snl-h.html

This won't do a a thing at CHR/Pop. Daft Punk and Pharrell have little to no clout at pop radio, and this is a straight up disco record.

I dunno, this might "get lucky" on CHR.

It is extremely hard to top "One More Time". But I've been waiting for a LOOOOONG time for some new music, and I wish this all the best. Even making the CHR top 40 will tickle me pink.

"One More Time" peaked at #31 CHR/Pop, by the way. It's Daft Punk's sole entry on the chart.

Didn't Around the World make the Top 40 CHR? I swear I heard it on Rick Dees back in the day. And I know that's not the official CHR chart, but still...

If this actually charts on Pop, I will lose it!

Didn't Around the World make the Top 40 CHR? No. Tied with "One More Time" for their biggest Hot 100 hit (#61, and their only two entries), but it didn't hit the CHR/Pop chart.

This is amazing but it probably won't do anything at Pop. I have my fingers crossed that it does though.

The Digital Download era should really help this on the charts.

I could see Daft Punk getting a minor pop hit this time around. I'm not sure of the list but they have a lot of collaborators on their album and seem to be getting a lot of buzz, including in mainstream places, considering the album was essentially announced during SNL and all. Plus, pop radio is more accessible for their style of music.

I love this! Well the short edits that are on Soundcloud of it. I hope the full thing is released soon. This won't do a a thing at CHR/Pop. Daft Punk and Pharrell have little to no clout at pop radio, and this is a straight up disco record. Best case scenario is probably top 50 with some promotion. I can see this doing better than their earlier singles on the Hot 100 with sales and maybe the YouTube component. We'll just have to wait and see.

The various ads from the past 24-48 hours have been racking up a lot of Youtube views. Plus they have been doing meticulous ad placements. Coachella, SNL, SxSW (I was there and they had Billboards and Posters plastered EVERYWHERE!). They know their demographic and who to capture.

Despite how popular dance music is lately, there's really nothing else that's so disco influenced doing well. I think this has a lot more potential in the UK than the US. There's a bit more diversity in the type of dance music that does well there.

So stocked for this, but I don't care for it it's commercial success on CHR/Pop.

reeally loving what I hear but (unfortunately) US pop radio prob. wont touch this :/. Its too good/sophisticated lol. UK/Europe totally different story (as usual). The US is the only country that refuses to play anything a little 'too' disco sounding regardless of the quality, how catchy etc...OR anything by anyone older than 40 lol. Yes, radio is better than the rap gunk, hip hop invasion of 10 years ago when NO dance/electronic music was played (unlike now) but its all relative lol as the 'dance' music 2day (overall) has a dumb down, juvenile sound that appeals mainly to 16 year olds who cant and wont appreciate a song like this. Nile Rodgers is a legend and pioneer of hip hop (the song Good Times was revolutionary) yet the majority of people (let alone) teens have NO clue who he is. :#

syn·er·gy [sin-er-jee] noun, plural syn·er·gies. 1. the interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual elements
This right here. Daft Punk may have only gotten as far as #31 on the Pop chart in the past and Pharrell is hardly an automatic draw, but I do think the curiosity of the two coming together will lead to a strong digital seller if nothing else. Between escalating hype, a major promotional push, and the aforementioned synergy I could see this peaking high on the Hot 100, with or without radio's backing.
Great tune btw. Their best in years.

It'll be interesting to watch, that's for sure. They've never pushed anything like this before, and despite Pharrell's flat vocals, it's irresistible. I definitely think it'll depend on digital sales and Clear Channel--namely Z100 since markets are more likely to pick up on a dance track than they were 12 years ago (the last time DP put out something decent). I'm honestly kind of surprised about ATW and OMT. I feel like I heard them a lot, but maybe I just saw them on MTV.

Z100 used to play "One More Time" all the time. I still hear it from time to time in New York.

This Song seems to be pretty good! Im loving the whole Disco Sound! Not sure if it can match the little bit of success that "One More Time" saw though. Especially here in The US as stated above! Ehh Guess we will have to just wait and see!
