^And the strong country radio airplay for his single. It should go to #1 next week. George got a massive push to #1 on Mediabase this past week and topped the chart on Saturday/Sunday. It was the worst push in the history of the country charts, save for the fiasco when Garth Brooks debuted at #1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs several years ago. Over the past few years, Big Machine has become notorious for pushing some of Taylor Swift's and Rascal Flatts' singles to #1, and there was a bad incident a decade ago with one of Reba's singles (when she was George's labelmate; the Reba situation actually prompted Billboard to rank by audience instead of spins), but the push for George's tune this past week topped all of those cases, again, save for Garth. George's lead single has been out since October and has been meandering its way up the chart, held aloft by the label and the campaign for it to be his 60th #1, even though he only has 44 on Billboard. Some others have gone to #1 on Mediabase (but only #2 or #3 on BB) and still the number doesn't add up to 60, but his label and management are counting this song as his 60th so they organized a huge push and made everyone very aware of it via social media. It hit #2 on Billboard Country Airplay yesterday, but it may wind up going from #2 to recurrent, since its losses this week will be substantial due to the ridiculous chart manipulation that his label, MCA Nashville, pulled off last week.

Hopefully Eve could sneak into top 40 on final Billboard chart.
