She's one of the few who sounds as good live as she does on the studio recordings.

Up to 3 on iTunes . She's pretty much now the biggest thing to come out of the voice (besides maroon 5s comeback)

Oh, and she looks A LOT like Anna Kendrick on the single cover. Ahhh yes. She does!!! I was wondering who she reminds me of on the cover.

I think The Voice has found its first star. I made my feelings for this song known--I do like it, and I like Cassadee, but I don't think she sounds all that country. That said, this is going to be a hit. It sold over 75,000 copies in just 2 days at iTunes, and it's still #7 all-genre and #1 on the country chart. I wouldn't be surprised if Cassadee makes major waves at country radio.

I think this is going to do very well. I'd be surprised if her label doesn't all push this at pop.

Hot Shot Debut at #7 on the mongrel chart. #2 digital selling song, too.

If she can hit with this then maybe she can be added into a group of great female hitmakers. I'm hoping her and Kelly and Kellie can join the likes of Carrie and Miranda.

I love this...they need to send it to the pop formats too, though!

This song does nothing for me, but I'm rooting for it just for the sake of having another female breakout artist on country radio. This is off to a great start. I hope this somehow manages to sneak in the top 20, at the very least.

I hope this somehow manages to sneak in the top 20, at the very least. Judging from other comments in this and the Kelly Clarkson "Tie It Up" thread, you are not alone in this line of thought. But this line of thought puzzles me. I have certainly spent a lot of time noting the gender imbalance on country radio, but should rooting for female hitmakers mean rooting indiscriminately for any female with a chance of success? Who does it really open the door for should Cassadee Pope sustain success on the country format as a pop/rock singer with pop/rock material carrying over a fanbase from her days as a pop/punk singer? Avril Lavigne? Is that really progress? In a somewhat similar fashion, I'm unconvinced that Kelly Clarkson leveraging her pop stardom into crossover success with barely country material would represent meaningful progress for women at the country format (though Kelly, unlike Cassadee, strikes me as someone who has at least some understanding of what country music has historically sounded like, and could apply that understanding to future releases). There is no dearth of female country singers who actually belong in the country genre, who have devoted their careers to making country music and to building an audience within the genre. Kacey Musgraves, Ashley Monroe, Kellie Pickler, Jana Kramer, and Maggie Rose are the more prominent rising artists with current or former major label ties, while Katie Armiger and Jaida Dreyer are examples of artists who have tried to make their way onto the charts as independent artists. It seems to me that their success would do far more to advance the cause of women among country radio listeners and at country radio.

I heard this song for the first time this morning. I was lying in bed when the clock radio went off and there it was. At first I thought I had accidentally tuned into our local AC radio station which is one spot down on the dial. But alas no, I was truly on the country station. Now I hardly watch any TV. Don't think I've ever seen one episode of The Voice so I had no clue who this was. Sure reminded me of Avril. Not to say that is bad as I do have at least one of Avril's songs on my mp3 player right now. But this is certainly not something I want to hear on my country music radio station. I do admit that it is not nearly as offensive though as being awoken at 5:30am to Brantley Gilbert's "Kick It in the Sticks". That happened twice the same week. Ugh!

What I find really interesting is that in all the interviews I've heard/read, Blake has said he is so proud of Danielle for winning the latest season of The Voice. He said he was glad to win it before but now he's finally glad to win it with a country singer. And all these interviews I've seen have come out very recently, after this song already had cracked the top 40. It's like they're not counting her as a country singer, even though she signed to Republic Nashville. She'll be labelmates with Danielle Bradbery as well.

I don't know what to think of that video. First thought was cheap. Second thought what was with that stupid "rain". IDK maybe give it a six...there was just so much more you could have done with that song.

Finally got around to listening to this and I actually like it more than I thought I would. It's actually countrier than I expected, but vocally and image-wise, I don't get her as a country artist. This really sounds like what I'd expect to hear if Avril Lavigne were to cover a song by The Band Perry. I do like the inflections of fiddle and banjo on this and the darker production, which works nicely for me. They'd be smart to try and get a crossover hit with this though, since it really lends itself to that.

This is because Cassadee introduced herself in the competition as a pop/rock singer (then she covered some great country songs). She just recently became a country singer after winning, saying country is her roots anyway. :) Not that Blake has not been counting her, mostly he's referring to what type of artist they are when they are still in the competition. :)

I hear some country in it. Good enough for me. Enjoyable song, glad to see it's warming up.

Cassadee has never felt like a genuine country singer to me. I think she'd fit better as a singer/songwriter type on pop, but decided to go country because of her connection with Blake and the success that she had with country songs on The Voice.

The album title will be "Frame By Frame", and fans can vote for one of two choices to be the album cover. To vote, go HERE. Option #1Option #2I like them both but I chose #1.

I like the album title and the cover options, though I like the image from option #2 more, but I'd prefer it without the border like option #1 has. Ultimately, I cast my vote for the second choice though.

I saw Cassadee perform a free acoustic show at my local Toby Keith's bar on Monday, and was very impressed with what I heard. I have to admit that I was indifferent to "Wasting All These Tears" at first, but Cassadee's voice (I love the uniqueness of it) really won me over. She sang about five songs from her upcoming album, including a cover of "Over You" (since she had done so on the Voice) and what she has to offer is really unique and fresh. It is funny to me that her label chose this song as the debut single though, since it sounds the least "country" of the bunch...I was pleasantly surprised!

Maybe because she is more of considered a pop singer before, so atleast they will have a slow transition to country, with pop-country now, but I'm sure most of her songs will be "more country", if a term like that exist since articles are all over the internet with her saying she really has country roots and pop-rock is just a phase.

Don't know if this helps support this or not, but here's Cassadee as a youngster ;)
