Nightfire's Weekly Top 30 (RIP Little Chart)

I decided, on a whim, that I should make a personal chart because I think it's a cool idea. They'll hopefully be posted each Sunday, but I wanted to put one out today so that I don't have to wait until Sunday to post it.

Rules: I can chart any song I want, whether it's a charting single, old single, or a song that was not released as a single.

 

This week, OneRepublic tops my chart with their non-single, "Preacher." There are several songs on the chart that would have been previous number ones if I had started my chart sooner (ie. Lana Del Rey, Ellie, Imagine Dragons, and "Catch My Breath," which would have been an extremely long-running #1). Right now, "People Like Us" is beginning its ascension while "Catch My Breath" is falling. "We Own It (Fast and Furious)" makes the biggest leap in my mind despite not having a chart to look back on; this is due to the fact that I saw Fast and Furious 6 this week. The oldest song on this week's chart is, by far, "Carry On My Wayward Son" due hearing it again in one of season finales of Supernatural while rewatching the series on Netflix.

Nice chart. I was disappointed when I saw that the OneRepublic song at #1 wasn't "Counting Stars" Awesome to see "We Own It" so high! Way to not have a picture for it though And yay "Radioactive"!

@drag27 Yep, the song has had some great longevity in my mind, but there are some weeks where I just don't listen to it at all, but there are others where I play the heck out of it. It keeps flip-flopping on me.

nick64 I love "Counting Stars," but I've been listening to "Preacher" so often lately that I haven't had the time to focus on another OneRepublic song. But UGH YOU'RE RIGHT ABOUT THAT NO PICTURE THING. I had one originally, but it kept not resizing except for being like HUUUGE and tiny. It wouldn't match the other 2 covers, so I was like "f**k it; I'm just taking it out" lmao

This week's chart really shook up last week's chart. "Sail," "Troublemaker," "Figure 8," and "Safe and Sound" drop off the chart, with "Figure 8" making the biggest drop of the week going from top 10 to completely off the chart. "Preacher" remains at #1 for its second week, and "Counting Stars" debuts at #17; it's definitely one to watch out for. The week's biggest movement is Delta Goodrem's "Heart Hypnotic" debuting at #2 after just 8 hours of availability in Australia, and I don't even live there! "Highway Don't Care" also debuts this week, as does "Come & Get It," which has charted despite every part of me knowing I shouldn't enjoy the song. "I Want Crazy" replaces "Carry On My Wayward Son" as well. Stay tuned for next week's chart!

Welcome to this week's chart! This marks the first week that I'll be doing a top 30. Anyway, this week's number one is a massive resurgence by Kelly Clarkson's "Catch My Breath," which rockets 18-1 after I saw her in concert, and she acknowledged me during this song. This marks Clarkson's first #1 on my chart, and there are sure to be more in the future! After three weeks at the summit, OneRepublic's "Preacher" drops 2-1 while their second single, "Counting Stars" rises into the top ten, going from 13-9. Two new random  Delta Goodrem songs, "Touch" and "Dancing With a Broken Heart," debut in the top 20 this week. There are also a bunch of new songs charting in the top 30 because there's more space for them, but a notable re-entry is "Safe and Sound" by Capital Cities. Several of the older songs, such as "Stompa" and "Pompeii" seem to be reaching the end of their chart runs, due to age and burn rate.
