Not as instantly catchy as HTNGU, hope it does something though.

Reminds me of some Roxette sh*t. I like it. A whole sort of modern day Roxette is kind of a good direction for her in fact.

I like it a million times more than the dull HTNGU, but I am not sure if it will be enough to smash.

miles better than Never Growing Up, but still nothing special, doesn't really want me to listen to it again a second time
of course after the 1st single and the whole last album I didn't expect a My Happy Ending part two, but this is too calculated, too formulaic, too much Nickelback, too much Max Martin, too much of silly Avril and not a hint of what made her old songs good
and my god the LYRICS...

that title for a pop song is cringe worthy and now that cover.. I think just a tiny tiny tiny bit of self-awareness would help her tremendously I have trouble with this. She seems to be stuck in the early 00s zeitgeist, where rebellion and punk rock were the accepted mainstream (the "in" or "cool" as it were). But I think she does this purposely to appeal to those who continue to turn to her for nostalgic reasons. In that sense I think she is extremely self-aware. Avril as a hippie, nerdish, and/or dance/rave artist, (which are what many consider the essences of today's zeitgeist) would be a "sell" out, and it would be hard for her to break through. None of the artists (Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, blink, Sum 41, etc) who were in that pop-punk wave (and part of the 00s zeitgeist of rebellion) are even remotely successful today. So for her it is different.

Pretty unmemorable, it's not even that catchy to me...which surprises me if this is indeed a Max Martin production. They should have released her album last month, I doubt radio is willing to give her much more of a chance now that HTNGU flopped, especially with a song that doesn't sound any different than what she's offered up thus far.

I like this more than HTNGU. I wish the guitar solo was longer.

I like this better than HTNGU. It's fun. But we'll see if radio thinks so. At this point, I really think its gonna be a complete hit or miss because its not a big departure from the last song.

Well, it did sound weird for me on the first listen. But that happened when i play it on my iphone when i just woke up, without headphone and don't know about the lyrics.
I love it now. Sounds similar to those tracks on UMS

The song is just okay to me. I agree with some other posters that if HTNGU didn't do much, I don't see this doing much better either.

This song is having the opposite effect on me as "Here's to Growing Up" did. While HTNGU lost it's allure after multiple listens, this just keeps getting better. The production is fantastic, and it sounds great with the speakers blasted.

I like this way more than the lead single. This is probably the first song of hers I've genuinely liked since "What the Hell," and I have a feeling this is going to grow on me like crazy and end up being one of my favourite songs from her.
The "hey, hey, hey" post-chorus is pretty darn great and I can totally imagine people singing along with that part.

I love it but I don't think it's too different from Never Growing Up to do any better than that.

I don't love it as much as 'HTNGU', which is one of my favorite songs of the year thus far, but I do really, really like it.
I definitely agree with those of you who hear 'Rock Me' in this. The instrumental, the melody, and even some of the vocal arrangements are similar.

Oh, God. Avril. Honey. No.
I wouldn't be surprised if her album only sold 20k first week.
