Reach #1 on Urban and AC please :) I don't think this is going to go any more than 4 formats at once. It'll certainly get there on Urban, but there's a chance that "Partition" could leapfrog it by this time next week if that keeps going at its current pace or ramps it up. And AC is going to take a while for it to get there (obviously) - it'll really need to ramp up there, even with it staying put at the others for some time. This better go #1 on urban this week!!

In any case, the record for most formats at once is six, set by "Boulevard of Broken Dreams". No way is this going to do that; it'd have to hold "Partition" off for at least some length of time, and the odds of that are probably nil.

TheAzianWill this may not even hold onto its Rhythmic #1, not with the way "Talk Dirty" is closing in on it...

Stay miserable, losers. Keep the suicide hotlines on speed dial because this ish is still the s**t. That's not funny, though.

It regained the Rhythmic #1 that it had lost to Jason DeRulo last week...only to lose the Urban #1 to "Partition" in the same breath.
Whoopsie. :kii:

At least we know he lost it to the TRUE #1 Urban song. But at the same time, he blew his chance to top 5 formats at once. ;) Dunno if he'll be in serious jeopardy of losing the Pop #1 next week, but he could end up losing the Rhythmic one again. And he's still 400-some spins out from taking the AC one.

'Happy' is now officially the biggest hit since the beginning of the Dutch Top 40 in 1965.. :( probably that will happen in other music charts, too..

I get tired of this after a while (well, the song became popular here way before exploded in USA) but it's really amazing the staying power of its sales. It's really dominat even after two powerful releases (Ed Sheeran and Lana del Rey) and clearly dominates All of me wich is an incredibly popular song

Just hit #1 on AC today. If it can stay there by Sunday that makes Pop, Rhythmic, Urban, Urban AC, HAC, and AC, right? Is that a record?

Somebody hasn't read this page carefully. ;) I mean, I think this would be the first to top all of those six, but that's as far as it goes as far as being noteworthy/record-worthy.

Somebody hasn't read this page carefully. ;) I mean, I think this would be the first to top all of those six, but that's as far as it goes as far as being noteworthy/record-worthy. www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6069790/pharrell-williams-happy-more-the-20-biggest-crossover-hitsWilliams' 'Happy' makes history as the first song to top as many as six Billboard radio format charts Call Pharrell Williams the crossover king. The singer/writer/producer's smash "Happy" becomes the first song to crown as many as six singular-format Nielsen BDS-based Billboard airplay charts, achieving the feat by rising 3-1 on Adult Contemporary. "Happy" rules Adult Pop Songs and Adult R&B Songs for a fifth week each. It first topped Pop Songs for four weeks, Rhythmic Songs for two and Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop (viewable on Billboardbiz) for one. Four prior smashes each led five distinct-format airplay charts: Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" (featuring Williams, as well as T.I.); Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" (featuring Kimbra); Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"; and Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love to You." "It was all Pharell's doing," Columbia Records executive vp Joel Klaiman told Billboard in March, alluding not only to the song's strength, but also Williams' release of a 24-hour video loop of the track that went viral. With "Happy" having first been released on the "Despicable Me 2" soundtrack nearly a year ago, "It was a stroke of genius that in December he got people focused on a song that came out in June." "Happy" has led the sales/airplay/streaming-based Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks and sold 4.5 million downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Williams' new album "G I R L," which also includes "Happy," has sold 304,000 in its first seven weeks of release. As Williams makes history, here's a recap of the 20 titles to top at least four single-format Billboard airplay charts dating to the advent of BDS data in the early '90s. Note that almost all titles are rock- (Coldplay, Green Day) or R&B/hip-hop-leaning (Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey), thus made for play at specialized formats while featuring pop hooks easily accessible for mainstream audiences. PD: Adult Alternative Songs is what we know as Triple A?

PD: Adult Alternative Songs is what we know as Triple A? Pharrell's achievement requires a big asterisk. Adult Alternative Songs is Triple A, yes, but the Adult Alternative Songs chart as we know it did not exist prior to mid-2008. They claim that the chart has been around since January 20, 1996 - HOWEVER: In launching the Adult Alternative Songs chart, they also appropriated the chart data of Radio & Records; this was during that few-year period when R&R was under the Billboard umbrella. In other words, their recognition of 1996-2008 Triple A data appears to be inconsistent at best. BTW: I will point out that you did not specify where you meant when you inquired about a record.
