from Billboard.com: Her first holiday set since 1999's "Joy" will include two new compositions Jewel is returning to Christmas canon with the December release of "Let It Snow," her second holiday album and the follow-up to 1999's platinum "Joy: A Holiday Collection." The 12-track Somerset Group Ltd. set includes renditions of seasonal favorites such as "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Sleigh Ride," "Silver Bells" and "White Christmas," the latter featuring Vince Gill on guitar. It also includes two new Jewel compositions -- "It's Christmastime" and "Blue Crystal Glow," a chorale piece she co-wrote with Joe Mardin, son of the late "Joy" producer Arif Mardin. "I really had an amazing time doing this one," Jewel tells Billboard. "The great thing about Christmas music is I can cover a lot of territory, from country to jazz style vocals to classical music, arias. That's what drew me to the last one... And it's fun writing Christmas music; you get to write in a more classic style and not have to think about current radio or current trends." Jewel co-produced the album with Mardin, Steve Skinner and Robbie Kondor -- arrangers who also worked on "Joy." "Obviously I couldn't work with Arif on this one, but I couldn't be happier with the outcome," Jewel says. "It's a really beautiful record. These guys did such a beautiful job producing and arranging it and making all these different styles work together seamlessly." Jewel, who released a "Greatest Hits" album in February, will be serving as a judge on the fourth season of NBC's "The Sing-Off," which is currently taping in Los Angeles and will begin airing on a date yet to be announced. The full track list for "Let It Snow" includes: Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas Do You Hear What I Hear? It's Christmastime What Child Is This? Panis Angelicus Blue Crystal Glow Sleigh Ride White Christmas Silver Bells The Christmas Song I'll Be Home for Christmas from blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2013/08/06/jewel-kicks-holidays-off-early-with-christmas-album-details/Jewel is ushering in the holidays a little early by announcing the details of her second Christmas record, entitled “Let It Snow.” Her first holiday album, “Joy: A Holiday Collection,” released in 1999, went platinum, selling over 1 million copies. “Let It Snow,” a Somerset Group Ltd. release, is due out on iTunes on Nov 12. “I wanted this record to have a resemblance to the first album,” said the singer, “It’s a continuation of mood and spirit of that record, with the mood and feel of the album artwork with an image and tone that evokes that spirit.” In an interview with the Journal, Jewel said that she pushed herself vocally for this album, incorporating classical and jazz into her work. “It’s not something I get to sing a lot of.” She collaborated with Joe Mardin, son of the late “Joy” producer Arif Mardin, on “Blue Crystal Glow,” a chorale piece. “There’s no vibrato and it’s a very complicated vocal arrangement, I really pushed myself on this,” Jewel said of “Blue Crystal Glow.” The singer/songwriter co-produced the album with Steve Skinner and Robbie Kondor, two arrangers who also worked on “Joy,” and collaborated with country singer Vince Gill on “White Christmas.” Here’s the full track list for “Let It Snow.” 1 – Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! 2- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas 3 – Do You Hear What I Hear? 4 – It’s Christmastime 5 – What Child Is This? 6 – Panis Angelicus 7 – Blue Crystal Glow 8 – Sleigh Ride 9 – White Christmas 10 – Silver Bells 11 – The Christmas Song 12 – I’ll Be Home for Christmas

Sweet! Joy is part of my regular holiday rotation, so I'm excited to have another album to add to the mix. It's definitely on my must-buy list!

Her Christmas album is the only one of hers I don't have (and the second children's lullaby album). I'll likely skip on this as I generally don't care for newish Xmas music but I hope there are a few future classics on here.

Official press release: After a decade since the overwhelming success of her first holiday album, the multi-platinum award winner Jewel gears up to release her much anticipated follow up holiday album, “Let It Snow.” The acclaimed American singer-songwriter-poet will not only debut 10 holiday favorites but will also feature two new original songs, “Blue Crystal Glow” and “It’s Christmastime.” Produced alongside some of the music industry’s greatest composers, Steve Skinner, Robbie Kondor and Joe Mardin, the album features country, folk-pop roots with a classical twist. Vince Gill, Country Music Hall of Famer and 20-time Grammy® Award winner, also joins Jewel on the guitar for an extraordinary rendition of “White Christmas.” Jewel, wife and mother of 2-year-old son Kase, said her goal with this new holiday production since her first Top 10 Billboard holiday album was “to develop an album where families can combine old traditions with a more contemporary spin, while making new memories.” Fans will have the opportunity to purchase a 2-track advance on iTunes starting on October 29th with a “complete your offer” opportunity on November 19th where they will have the option of purchasing the 12 track and 16 track version. With four Grammy® Award nominations, a record-breaking poetry collection and over 27 million album sales, Jewel continues to captivate listeners worldwide with her exquisitely expressive voice and heartfelt songwriting. In addition, on September 17th, 2013, Jewel will release her second children’s book with Simon & Schuster titled “Sweet Dreams.” She has also signed on as a judge on the NBC series, “The Sing Off” which will premiere this holiday season. “Let It Snow” Track List: 1 - Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! 2- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas 3 - Do You Hear What I Hear? 4 - It's Christmastime 5 - What Child Is This? 6 - Panis Angelicus 7 - Blue Crystal Glow 8 - Sleigh Ride 9 - White Christmas 10 - Silver Bells 11 - The Christmas Song 12 - I'll Be Home for Christmas Jewel's 2nd children book to be released on September 17th.

I was reading on her website that iTunes will have a 16-track deluxe edition. There's nothing that says what those extra four tracks are yet besides that you will be able to get a couple tracks in advance and the cost of that will be applied toward the album as a complete your album offer.

Jewel was on the Today Show to talk about her new book and she said there will be a new album coming out in April 2014! After the Christmas album this year I was not expecting anything so soon but I can't wait!! She has recently said she has an acoustic album sort of ready and a country one also, so we'll see if it's another independent album or if it's a Valory one!

The bonus tracks on iTunes will be:
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Christmas In the Country Angels We Have Heard On High It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
It seems Christmas in the Country is a brand new song written by Jewel.

Do we know what the Walmart and BB&B tracks are? I'd like to get them all at some point.

Apparently BB&B will have Angels We Have Heard On High and It Came Upon A Midnight Clear as bonus tracks and Target has Deck The Halls (not sure if Target will have other bonus tracks). I believe Walmart will have the regular version only.

I think I'll get the regular album or the Target edition and then try and get the iTunes and BB&B tracks. I really don't like having exclusives all over the place - you'd think they'd give that up with the digital age and whatnot.

This is such a confusing release. Apparently it came out in September in some places? And there are all these different bonus tracks?

Target has an exclusive track, Deck The Halls, and it is available now.
Bed Bath & Beyond (available now) and iTunes (available November 11) have the original 12 tracks, plus God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Christmas in the Country, Angels We Have Heard On High, and It Came Upon A Midnight Clear.

Album is out everywhere today! I unfortunately don't expect it to chart because the release was such a mess with all the different release dates... And since it's an independent release, I don't know how easy it will be to find it in stores, we'll see. But anyway, if you want the physical version the best place to buy is Bed Bath & Beyond, cause it's the only place selling the 16 track version. And you can get Deck The Halls later if you'd like.

I might go do just that. I looked at Target today and couldn't see it anywhere, and their website doesn't offer it either. I listened to the 12-track version on Spotify today and really enjoyed the sound, so I look forward to hearing the rest when I'm able.

I'm really digging this album. It's a nice, easy listen.
I'll have to see if I can find the 16-track version.

Rhino records (Warner Music) is releasing this digital collection with all the Atlantic Records albums Jewel made (except Joy). It's a sweet thing, I suppose. iTunes have it also.

So, Jewel performed 2 songs at the Grove X-mas tree lighting ceremony in Los Angeles. She did "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" and "The Christmas Song". This concert will be shown on TV later this year, but no dates have been set. Also, she'll be on The Queen Latifah Show on the day after tomorrow! Nov 20th! And apparently Jewel and Queen Latifah will sing together!

For whatever reason, Let It Snow made me nostalgic for her older material, so I broke out her first four albums and I've been listening to them on and off for the last few days. I forgot how much I loved Pieces of You and 0304 back in the day. The latter, in particular, is so, so good. 'Leave the Lights On' is one of my favorite songs of hers; I can't believe it wasn't a single.
