I know I'm in the minority, but I've always thought that I'll Be Home For Christmas and White Christmas are such dirges. Certainly amongst the songs I'm least looking forward to hearing from the project. If White Christmas is going to be the first thing anyone hears, I at least hope it's closer to the Otis Redding version. They're very emotionally powerful songs if you're away from home at Christmas...they were both originally hits for Bing Crosby among the troops during World War II. That said, it's hard to separate them from the Bing versions and that whole era. I'm intrigued to see if Kelly can breathe the same fresh life into White Christmas that she did for I'll Be Home For Christmas, but it's a challenging choice to put on the album, let alone lead with.

lol at Tie It Up. I had a feeling though that this was more about State Farm and a performance would just be a bonus. She's coming. Honestly, except for a few exceptions (Dolly and Mariah), I'm not a huge fan of Christmas music. My KC-stan side is overwhelming that though, and I'm excited for this project.

I wonder if Kelly might sing a Christmas song while at The View so they can air it later. Maybe we will get a report from someone in the audience. Artists often do this so they don't have to make a return trip later.

Even I'm surprised about this decision. Many of Kelly's fans may not know she has an album coming out soon(very little hype). Singles sell albums. By releasing the strongest single first before the album's release, you are maximizing album sales. It won't get much airplay in the beginning, but it does give the album hype. Could anyone explain how Wrapped In Red benefits from anything that isn't the strongest single being released first?
This will be Kelly's seventh album. An 8-year old child could make the correct decisions for at least one of those albums, but her million-dollar record label hasn't been able to do it. Unbelievable.

A Christmas album is not your traditional weekly pop release. Even with a single out, there wouldn't be much hype. Pop radio is not going to play a Christmas song in October just because it's Kelly. Usually, Christmas albums open with mediocre numbers, but they see little increases week by week, until they explode and sell A LOT on black friday week, that's when Kelly must promote, not now.

I also think releasing the best song to radio/iTunes now makes the release.of the album anti-climactic. Like Oh Santa, which I loved, was released in October. It had basically no impact.on me at all, though, until.around thanksgiving..I think its smart to keep UTT (if its as.much of a jam that I think.will.be) on the album, and not released now, to let the general.public discover it.on their own, building natural hype.for the album.

Releasing the stronger Christmas single would be wasting it. It wont get any play right now. Almost zero spins, to be honest. Release a "promo" single and when stations begin switching over to Christmas music you hype a single release and send out ads to the radio stations. This is not a typical single release, not at all.

Regular albums sell all year, while Christmas albums only sell until the end of the year. Of course they're different. People are saying that the first single being all over the internet for a few weeks prior to the album's release would have little to no effect on album sales? I completely disagree. I could see it easily passing 100k in first week sales, but with White Christmas being the first single it likely won't come close to that. The few weeks after will be lower too.

Her hair has been on point so often. So many different styles this year on tour etc. All really cool. Yet when it comes to the f*cking Grammy's she does that yellow haired center-part nonsense. About to sing Tie It Up on The View and talk about State Farm's Celebrate My Drive program!

October is time for Halloween, not Christmas. It would be pointless to push a single until November because no one is going to care in October.

I think first week it'll sell as much as her first week Greatest Hits sales. That seems like the realistic number of hardcore fans she has that'll buy a Christmas album in Oct.

Ooohhh I get the feeling she really doesn't like Miley... I love it! I get the feeling her step-daughter really likes Miley and it's a bit of a new challenge for Kelly. Pure, unfounded speculation, but she normally doesn't get so wound up.

Another interview: soundcloud.com/wooferson4/the-ralphie-show-They have asked her to perform on the AMA's, and she wants to, but she doesn't know what she's going to do yet. -They played a clip from a Miguel interview where he was talking about how he hopes to work with her one day and appreciated her shoutout to him at The Grammys. Kelly said her label loved her for saying it because he's on RCA too, she had no idea haha. I'd love if she did a decked out performance of Underneath The Tree, similar to how they do the Christmas themed performances on the X Factor finale.

1. Why does Kelly need to think about performing at the AMAs? just do it girl, who cares what you sing.
2. Kelly & Miguel need to debut their duet at this years grammys so it can be eligible for next years.
3. Scratch what I said about me wanting any of the songs on the Christmas album to be "xxxartistxxx version" of the song. I want Kelly to come up with all new, all original arrangements, that's the only way she'll get a "classic" out of it.
