Holiday-album sales usually peak before Christmas, so going by past trends, holiday-album sales should drop back for the 12/16-22 period (barring, perhaps, Buble, whose holiday show airs next week).

Damn, it was nice for a little while to have Kelly slaying the other pop girls. Oh well, she's still slaying most of them, and the album is going to continue to sell really well so I'm not bummed about it not getting #1.

So at the end of Nashville this week, they showed highlights of upcoming episodes when they resume in mid-January. The clips showing Kelly were brief and didn't include any speaking but apparently, she's playing herself and wants to record the song mentioned earlier in this thread. The couple that wrote the song once dated but are not on speaking terms now and in the clip when they're apparently playing the song for Kelly, the girl says she can't do this and walks off and it shows Kelly with her mouth agape with a WTF look on her face.

Just because we all found out last minute doesn't mean she didn't have this planned. Don't buy into her story about it being a gift for the fans and she just decided to release it . You don't film 17 music videos without a plan! She claims this is anti-hype. It is anything but.

The Beylluminati strike again... I'm hoping against hope Kelly will come out on top for this week. While I can't deny the brilliance of Team Bey's release strategy, this has got to be the single most annoying album launch I've ever seen. You literally can't escape it. And not just this album; she has a section devoted to her entire catalog on the front page of iTunes. And per usual, she's getting heaps of praise for being groundbreaking when the musical quality is lackluster. The woman is beautiful. She has talent. But strip all that away and the music doesn't stand well on its own.

Kelly's album is going to sell exceptionally well during these next few weeks, regardless of Beyonce (which is, by the way, a wonderful album that you should all check out). I think that is all that matters, even though #1 would be ideal. I can comfortably settle with #2.

I didn't expect WIR to do better than GH and expected UTT to be a huge immediate hit! Now I'm so happy it's the other way around! It's like this year's Grammys - I'm so glad she won one for the whole record instead for that one song. Now the whole record is selling well - each individual song is being heard instead of the one single and the rest ignored. #1 would be awesome, of course, but Beyoncé makes it impossible so that Kelly can't rise above her place and won't change enough so we have to pray... (ugh, love that song! and totally dislike Bey's new album btw) Anyway, #2 would be super-cool!
