Has anyone been seeing the Kindle commercial? I only saw it once, during Kelly's Christmas special.

It looks like Kelly outsold DD by a little less than 30k copies. If she can repeat that and have a good week after Christmas when everyone cashes in on gift cards, she may just slip past them.

so she easily sold past gold this week w/ and will prob. end up between 700-800k once all is said and done (until next X-Mas) and shipped platinum. Def. a solid hit. If the competition were 'slightly' less, she def. wouldve had #1 (which wouldve just been extra icing). Far as peak position, is #3 looking like its final peak? Besides Beyonce, who else is she competing against next week? Is Garth still likely to be #2 or #1 (or did Wal-Mart only carry x-amount of albums)? I'm not sure of when the tracking week is but I think someone on here said that many stores ran out and were ordering more on the 18th/ tomm. (dunno how much of a difference that'll make and if any of this its even true). Honestly, I'd rather her get a solid top 3 peak than another yet another #2 album lol (this wouldve been her 3rd, following Strongers #2 peak).

Both Kelly and DD had 1 hour Christmas Specials on the same night, from which Kelly's sales increased 26% and DD's sales decreased 1%, according to HDD. We will have to wait for the final Soundscan numbers released to Billboard tomorrow to be certain. That being said, if the HDD numbers hold up and Kelly did indeed close the gap by ~ 28k from last week's sales, are not the albums nearly tied at this point ? I ask because this was published from Yahoo music today:

The last thing I thought of throughout this entire X-Mas season is whether or not she 'beats' the Robertsons lol. My main focus was all on Kelly, the sales/hype and of course reeally wanting her to have gotten just one week at #1 (which in most years..even recently... woulda been very do-able) This year (as I said before was unusually competitive)! Even that is secondary now as her album has shipped and will end up selling very close to platinum which is verry hard for X-Mas albums (look at another A-list, iconic (to many) soul megastar Mary J Blidges sales) *Just one example out of many!

Courtesy SOLID DREAM at the KCE:
"Wrapped in Red" 441,000(SoundScan Numbers) + 137,000(HDD) = 578,000 copies in total.
"Duck the Halls" 473,000 + 109,000 = 582,000 / Duck Dynasty

One more question: Does anyone have an estimated total of best-selling female albums released during Q4 including this week's HDD estimates (Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Beyonce) to where Kelly falls ?

I hope the estimates for next week have Kelly in the lead again. Sooo close to DD now, would hate to see it fall short.
Let this be the cherry on top of a flawless era. And add another feat to her long list already *First female to have the highest selling Christmas album of the year*

... With other words: Kelly beat Gaga and has the best selling holiday album of 2013 ? Precisely. Not only that, she's going to outsell the most over-exposed artist of 2013.

The top story on Entertainment Tonight is discussing the lack of fame The Voice winners experience afterwards and they used Kelly as an example of what they, reality competition winners, can achieve.

Clarkson's "Wrapped In Red" this week pulls ahead of The Robertsons' "Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas" as the best-selling holiday album so far this year…
"Wrapped" has sold 578K copies, 9K more than "Duck." There are two chart weeks to go in 2013.
Yay for Kelly....above from Paul Grein.

I'm still holding out a bit of hope for an iTunes banner (first spot, please) after the Beyonce banners expire (hopefully) on Friday.

This is totally irrelevant to everything, but I wonder if Carrie Underwood will be the next idol to release a Christmas album. She has that same country appeal as DD, but then the crossover appeal as Kelly and the same girl-next door persona. I think she'd do very well.
Anyways, back on topic. I'm so happy Kelly is winning the race finally, and hope she holds onto the lead. This is such a quality, well thought out, passion project for Kelly, and DD is such a novelty. I'd love to see quality trump quantity this season.

I think her sales will have peaked this week. Don't see DD getting any sort of a boost after the controversy involving one of their stars, so I think she'll wind up winning this race after all.

On the contrary, they could also see a huge boost from people who are pissed and buy a ton of DD merch to retaliate. That's how these things go most of the time. (See: Chik Fil A)

I could see DD getting a boost from all the redneck bigots but I'm not sure they would buy their Christmas album. Most likely we would see it in other merchandise and ratings for the show.

All gays unite! Buy Wrapped in Red to stop DD from being the biggest Christmas album of the year *lmfao only half kidding here* Sadly, the gays aren't as united as the bigots. Couldn't even get Same Love to #1 after the marriage equality passed. Smh.

First of all, this controversy has been going on for all of one day. Any sales increase would be unknown as of yet. If they sold more then it is simply because Christmas is getting closer and more people are buying those albums and getting last minute gifts. If they have a big gain and Kelly has a big dip then MAYBE we can assume people are flocking to their album for reasons other than it being Christmas but really, all Christmas albums should see similar gains this week. Kelly may not because her special was last week but hopefully she holds steady.

HITS predictions. Gonna be close to the end with between the trash and the treasure.
YOUR HOLIDAY TOP 15: Beyoncé will hold onto the #1 spot next week, powered by strong second-week sales at iTunes and physical product hitting the stores at presstime. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend:
1. Beyoncé (Columbia) 260-280k 2. Garth Brooks (Pearl) 190-210k 3. One Direction (SYCO/Columbia) 165-175k 4. Kelly Clarkson (RCA) 130-140k 5. The Robertsons (EMI Nashville) 125-135k 6. Eminem (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) 110-120k 7. Katy Perry (Capitol) 90-100k 8. Lorde (Lava/Republic) 65-75k 9. Luke Bryan (Capitol Nashville) 65-75k 10. Now 48 (UMe) 60-70k 11. Michael Buble (Reprise) 60-70k 12. Frozen (Disney) 60-70k 13. Mary J. Blige (Verve) 55-65k 14. R. Kelly (RCA) 50-60k 15. Florida Georgia Line (Republic Nashville) 50-60k
As for eggnog numbers, we're probably looking at 70-80 glasses. Unless you're having some too. (12/19p)

That is going to be close. I will just die if the Robertsons edge her out overall because they started spouting hateful comments. What a disgusting way to "win."

My hope is that the increase they got will only be for this week, and next week the 'uproar' will be all but yesterday's news while the re-air of Kelly's special (Christmas Eve, right?) gives her another boost for good measure.
