Always best to DVR VMAs and watch later. I enjoy checking in on boards to see what I should watch, skip and, of course, the snark.

Robin Thicke is gonna fuck up his image and alienate his main audience (The adult R&B crowd) if he keeps pulling stunts like this.

Were they serious with that intro for Kanye? Can he be even more of an arrogant douchebag?

I thought the show was pretty bad overall, but I enjoyed Gaga's, Justin's, and Katy's performance.

To be honest this MTV award show tonight wasn't that good. I feel that 2013 has been a bad year for new music, only Selena Gomez has released something that I actually like this year. I remember the shows in 2011 and 2012 when many good songs were climbing for 20 spots on itunes. That makes me appreciate more those times when artists like Lmfao, Pitbull, Katy, David Guetta,Bruno, Calvin Harris, Adele, Rihanna, Florida released classics. Now 2013 music has been a rehash of songs already made in 2011-2012, and that's why nothing is moving up like crazy on itunes. I don't know if the ratings were bad, itunes is off or the audience didn't feel this show like me, but it's weird that only BYE BYE BY NSYNC IS HAVING A good increase; but let's see what happens tomorrow..

it's weird that only BYE BYE BY NSYNC IS HAVING A good increase Except it's not. "Gorilla" is already up from #628 to #44. "Roar" is also back to #1. "Applause" is up to #4. "Same Love" back in the top ten. The list goes on.

Did "People Like Us" really get no cheering at all? And I think it's incredibly cool the M&RL brought both Ray Dalton and Mary Lambert with them.

I'm still waiting for something revolutionary and fresh of the status of 'party rock anthem, rolling in the deep, good feeling, give me everything, somebody that I used to know' and others mega hits that are still played on the radio because they were REVOLUTIONARY. ;)

Taylor Swift really rubbed me the worst out of everyone (Miley included). She's a little snob. And her hair looked stupid. Gaga actually surprised me the most out of the night. Not really her performance so much, but the normality. LOVE that hair look she had when she was in her seat w/ the seashell bikini/thong.

Roar was barely #2 though lol And wasn't Same Love just outside top 10? Not exactly big jumps. (Besides Gorilla) "Roar" was the last song performed, though, and less than 45 minutes it returned to #1 after "Wrecking Ball" took over. The numbers aren't out yet, but "Wrecking Ball" has got to be down to 0.9 at least already. IDK about "Same Love." I know it wasn't top ten and now it is. "Bye Bye Bye" isn't even really up that much. Before the performance it was in the 400s before the performance due to hype and it's #168 now. That may look great position wise, but below the top 100 the songs start to get so close together anyway. Their jump may not be as big as some of the jumps in the top 10.

GaGa came off as someone who is really down to earth and normal tonight. The only thing over the top about her was her lack of clothing. Taylor came off as a total bitch tonight. I lol'ed when she said "Shut the f**k up" while her ex from 1D was speaking when they presented that award Taylor is so pressed and bitter lol.

Robin Thicke is gonna f**k up his image and alienate his main audience (The adult R&B crowd) if he keeps pulling stunts like this. They weren't buying his albums or singles so I don't think he gives a f#ck about them right about now.

He doesn't atm but when the mainstream media stops caring about him (which will be sooner than later) He'll go back and attempt to cater to his core audience again. That performance with Miley was not a good look at all but you what they say there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Ellie Goulding was another delight tonight! She looked like she was having a very good time and cheering for everyone. Unlike some other attention whore, who would only dance and sing whenever the camera was in their face.

I don't see how anyone in their right mind could say that JT was not the best performance of the night. I mean, c'MON.
And it really shows that the VMAs continue to lack star power. They continuously just kept panning to Taylor and Selena and then 1D and sometimes Rihanna. I guess no other important people decided to show up.
When an awards show for VIDEOS and MUSIC keeps panning to Will Smith and his kids, you know there is a problem in terms of attendance.

Am I the only one who really dislikes Will Smith's children? I could write a dissertation on how wretched they are. ;) let's all discuss her ass. I didn't know Robin is that Thicke! If you look really closely, it looks like there's something coming out. When an awards show for VIDEOS and MUSIC keeps panning to Will Smith and his kids, you know there is a problem in terms of attendance. Or they are just too lazy to pan towards the celebs in the rows behind? ??? The Smith family's reactions to Oh Miley >>> the whole VMAs telecast

Justin owned. Great example you don't have to do trashy shit or acts of stupidity to consistently put on a good performance.

The last great VMAs was 2011 and funny me saying this as Taylor wasn't there that year. But without Taylor and JT,This award show wouldn't be that good without them. Finally Taylor getting her VMA Speech without Kayne moron there. Felt good to see that as a fan. As for the performances,JT's the best the rest forgetable.
