Oh my, if that is indeed true. I am somewhat interested in this project. That's quite the lineup. Jesse Johnson from The Time?! LOOOORDT. I forgot he even existed. I had his solo album on vinyl. I have his first 3 solo albums (and his GH) on cd . His solo stuff (from the 80's) was pretty damn good tbh. I'm not a big fan of "Xscape" I hope the other songs are better.

I love the artists comment of the DANGEROUS cover. It is also my favorite Mj album cover. Does anyone know what images Michael originally wanted for the INVINCIBLE and BAD covers?!

On the note of INVINCIBLE-- it certainly is not one of my favorite MJ albums, but it gave me some of my favorite all time MJ R&B joints. Those being BREAK OF DAWN, HEAVEN CAN WAIT and BUTTERFLIES. Amazing songs; even the remix of BUTTERFLIES feat Eve is heavenly.

I was just randomly taking a look at MJ's Vevo today and I noticed They don't care about us is his second most watched video, only behind Thriller. I didn't expect the song to be that popular. I'd expect something like Beat it ou Billie Jean to take that spot. TDCAU is one of my favorite MJ songs EVER!!!! It's certainly the best song he's released well since Billie Jean.

Here's what I found about INVINCIBLE: www.michaeljackson.com/us/node/1238880Supposedly, this photo by Albert Watson was supposed to be the inspiration for the original cover:

According to a post on michaeljackson, Michael originally wanted this to be the cover of BAD. Interesting. It's always been one of my favorite photos of his.

News from EPIC: The lead single drops 6/05. There gonna be 3 singles from this album. Each with a music video.

His presence is greatly missed in the industry. Invincible, his most underrated album, is better than literally 85% of albums I have heard in my lifetime. The man is a musical genius and I won't hear anything else about it. The one thing that really pisses me off is when people say "Oh his 80s music was the best, once the 90s hit his music took a dive in quality." WHAT?! Dangerous and HIStory are both miles and miles better than Thriller or Bad.

^Totally agree. His 90's music is groundbreaking. It drives me crazy that Thriller is known as his best album.

I didn't love the new material on HIStory as much as his best stuff. To me, Dangerous was better, but that still wasn't as strong as the trilogy that preceded it.
Invincible definitely is my least favorite of the 1979-on albums.

IMO, best Michael album is Off The Wall. Very influential.
From the 90's I like Dangerous... although all his albums are very good, even Invincible.

Yeessss! I smell a rankings list coming on!:
1. Dangerous 2. HIStory 3. Thriller 4. Bad 5. Invincible 6. Off The Wall
Very hard to do, and I LOVE them all.
Honorable mention to Blood On The Dance Floor.

Definitely prefer OTW, Thriller, and Bad to everything that came after them. His later albums were much more filler heavy (Invincible especially). They all could have benefited from tighter tracklistings.

I agree that Dangerous, HIStory and Invincible all would have been PERFECT with a few filler tracks cut out. Dangerous didn't need "Why You Wanna Trip on Me" or "Can't Let Her Get Away". HIStory didn't need "Money" or "DS" and Invincible didn't need "Privacy", "Cry" or "Don't Walk Away". I actually love "Don't Walk Away" but it's way too N*Sync and basic for Michael. Also, Invincible could have done with a better order of the tracks. It was kind of messy.
Also, what the hell with the single choices for Invincible? "You Rock My World" was so NOT first single material and then "Cry" as the second single?! WHAT.

It's really hard for me to make a list in this case. I grew up with his music and every album he released is importantant to me in one way or another. I'll do my best though:
1. HiStory 2. Off The Wall 3. Bad 4. Dangerous 5. Thriller 6. Invincible 7. BOTDF

Has anyone actually listened to Got to Be There, Ben, Music & Me and Forever, Michael? Are there any good album cuts on those? From time to time I do listen to the Motown stuff. I like a lot of it, actually, and what stands out for me (other than the singles) are: We've Got Forever, from Forever, Michael You Are There, from Forever, Michael Doggin' Around, from Music & Me My Girl, from Ben In Our Small Way, from Ben People Make the World Go 'Round, from Ben A'int No Sunshine, from Got To Be There Maria, from Got To Be There I enjoy the singles from each album, but find myself listening to these most often: Got To Be There I Wanna Be Where You Are Ben Music & Me With a Child's Heart Happy We're Almost There Just A Little Bit Of You One Day In Your Life For some reason, even though I listen to his pre-Epic work often, I never include it when considering top album rankings. Mainly because even though many of the above noted songs are great, I feel he was doing better work with his brothers during this period. He may or may not have had a choice in what he was recording for these albums (not sure of his overall involvement) but by and large at this point (1971-1975) he wasn't in charge of his solo career so I feel they are lesser albums when stacked against his Epic work.

^Thanks for the reply. I'll have to give those albums listen sometime.
I love "Got to Be There" and "Ben," even more than some of the big 1979-on singles. I don't think he performed 'Got to...' in his post-adolescent years? I know he performed "Ben" in 1981.
