Here are some more predictions:
American Authors' "Best Day of My Life" will be the next big indie-pop hit come Spring.
Broken Bells will smash with "Holding On for Life."
Kid Ink's "Show Me" will go top 30 on CHR.
Lawson will have two big CHR hits: "Brokenhearted" and "Juliet."
Pearl Jam will have a big CHR hit with "Sirens."
The Vamps will have a big CHR smash with "Can We Dance." It will be their only hit. They won't be the next One Direction; the song only smashes because of interest in a Bruno Mars-penned song.

CHR will continue to see extreme diversity on the chart as was seen throughout the 80s with dance, retro r&b,some rap, indie pop all sharing the charts. Lady Gaga will have 2 more hits and a minor to moderate hit and sell out tour with no injuries. Madonna will have a comeback single similar to Cher's Believe Disclosure and other british imports will continue to crossover with success. Lana Del Rey has runaway success with next album and 2 CHR hits. Rhianna and Katy Perry while still having some hits have a dip in popularity Justin Bieber career flatlines after a failed concert tour with Kanye and both end up on the next season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Kesha quits music and runs for mayor of LA. Lorde twerks at next years VMA'S and interupts Miley Cyrus award speech thus becoming the new Miley Cyrus and Kanye West all rolled up in one! Disco which became synth pop which became house which became electronica which became dance pop which became EDM is now understood by all generations to just be called plain ole DANCE MUSIC!

One of these songs will break out in CHR: NONONO - "Pumpin Blood" The Colourist - "Little Games" Smallpools - "Dreaming"
David Guetta makes a return, with a song that features Foxes.

General Predictions: The #1 song of the year will not be by a pop girl.
We will continue to see an abundance of Urban and Alternative music chart on pop.
Album and single sales will continue to decline. As sales continue to decline, the iTunes rolling chart will be increasingly characterized by songs racing up the chart on Mondays when they are released and tumbling down. We will once again break the record for lowest album sales in a week. Conversely, AI for airplay will be higher than ever.
Streaming will become a larger and larger part of the chart. A lot of people on pulse will complain about a song 'unfairly' getting to #1 on the Hot 100 because of streaming.
Specific Predictions: Lorde will have two more hits with Team and Tennis Court. Her album will have excellent longevity.
Burn will go top 5 on the Hot 100, Ellie will have a follow up hit as well.
Dark Horse will smash hard. It might have a lower peak than it could on the Hot 100, but will have chart for more weeks than most of Katy's singles do. Katy will have at least one more hit after Dark Horse.
If BeyoncΓ© releases an album, it will perform worse than 4 did in pretty much all aspects.
Avicii's Hey Brother will be a hit.

Album and single sales will continue to decline. As sales continue to decline, the iTunes rolling chart will be increasingly characterized by songs racing up the chart on Mondays when they are released and tumbling down. To add to that I expect we'll keep having more and more popular artists putting up pre-release singles on their album pre-orders (like One Direction, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Pearl Jam and others have recently done) which will continue debuting high due to pre-orders and falling away within a week on iTunes. Sometime later in the year Billboard will change their rules regarding these, either counting single purchases but not involuntary pre-order purchases if they can get that data from Apple (as I think the OCC in the UK is trying to get, and likely will introduce at least 6 months earlier than Billboard), or just making all sales ineligible until the full album is released. I imagine that will probably halt or kill off the trend. I also think another pop artist or two will do something like Justin Bieber's Music Mondays with releasing a stream of singles to iTunes - possibly with videos, possibly as part of an album - but not radio singles. I feel like someone might try releasing weekly singles to radio sometime, and I think if it was someone like Katy Perry or Bruno Mars there's enough demand that they could get airplay (which would make for interesting chart watching!), but I'll leave that for beyond 2014. I think in general we'll just have more artists abandoning traditional release structure, especially with more pre-album singles for artists with low album sales.

General predictions
At least 1 of the top 3 spots will be held by an alternate song
2012 had 2 STIUTK and We are young 2013 had Radioactive (assuming it gets #3)
At least 2 of the top 3 songs will be from artists that are ether new or haven't become popular untill 2014 2012 had all 3 STIUTK Call me Mabey and We are young 2013 had 2 Thrift shop and Radioactive (assuming it gets #3 if not harlem shake will get it) Robin Thick had songs chart on bilboard prior to 2013 so I won't cant him although blured lines is by far his biggest hit
A viral video will cause a song to #1 2012 had Gangname style (#2 even at a time where youtube streaming didnt count if you add youtube streaming it would have been #1 for at least 5 weeks probably a lot more) 2013 had Harlem Shake causing the YouTube streaming rules and Cost Thrift shop 5 possible weeks at 1
(Something to note about 2013 only 1 song on 2013 was #1 for 1 week and that was WIWYM by Bruno mars All the other 10 songs at #1 held it for at least 2 weeks)
I'll leave it at the basics
(Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the year end charts go up this week and if so is it Today or tomarrow?)

Adele will have the largest opening sales week of the year and will ultimately have the top-selling album of the year.

I'm gonna say it's going to be a big year for Adele again. I don't think Miley will do much more, chart wise. I don't think Katy Perry will see much chart success after Dark Horse. I don't think Gaga will see much more chart success after Gypsy (assuming she releases it)...although apparently she is releasing new songs from ARTPOP like a "part 2" apparently? We'll see... I also don't think Beyonce's new album will spawn any Pop hits, as will anything from Britney Jean. Looks like the Female divas have let radio down this year with their albums as a whole. I think it's up in the air at this point...it's going to be an interesting year.
Because of this, I predict it's also going to be another big year for Rihanna

Some predictions based on some of the trolling I've been doing and/or holding back from doing:
-Adele will release an album in late 2014. It will have a lot of hype and buildup as information from it gradually gets put out there but it doesn't perform to the enormous expectations people have for her. I see a huge opening week for her, maybe 500-600k but the first single won't be a #1 and it will experience a fairly quick drop but will ultimately go on to do decently by the end of the era. Mainstream pop is no longer her target audience.
-Katy Perry's era ends after 5 singles. No album re-release. Dark Horse hits the Top 5 but underperforms. After that, there are two more singles, one of which is a Hot 100 Top 10. Roar ends up as the biggest hit from the album. She takes a break and sits out the rest of the year to return with an album in summer 2015.
-Miley's era fades out but she continues to hold a presence in music doing featurings and other recordings, possibly an album re-release or some sort of a side project in late 2014. She also begins to be a focus on something other than music. Tabloid star? She starts her own magazine or fashion line? Something that occupies her outside of music off and on.
-Gaga's album wraps up sooner than later, probably by the beginning of summer in the middle of her tour. She'll release a third single (probably won't be Gypsy) that flops (Top 30 on pop radio, Top 40 on Billboard thanks to the video) then Gypsy is fourth, which does slightly better than whatever the third single is but still not as well as the album's first two singles. It's video is highly praised. Her tour wraps up before the end of the year and she takes a break from the spotlight but continues to keep a presence in her own way.
-Christina releases a single or two (all standalone singles) in 2014, one of which marks a significant comeback as she shows off a new restrained and more elegant image.
-Male solo artists will be a much bigger force for 2014 after the ruling of divas for the last x number of years. While we've seen JT and Bruno have big years, it'll be much more apparent this year. People want dapper, suited men for a while.
-Adam Levine releases a solo album that spawns at least two hits before the end of the year. One of which will feature someone. Anyone.
-The summer song of the year isn't a dance/pop hit. Could be a piano ballad, could be a pop/rock song, could even be a rap/country hybrid.
-LMFAO releases a new album but it flops.
-Pitbull is involved in some sort of a scandal but it actually betters his chart performance just because.
-Another major artist is involved in a beyonce-like release strategy. Except this time, it's release the same way J.K. Rowling's recent book was released. Under an assumed artist name. Then it is revealed at just the right moment that XX is actually YY. - or something.
-Chris Brown actually lands himself in jail for some reason. Like, legitimately.
-Taylor Swift releases her new album and while sales are great, the response is overwhelmingly negative.
-The other half of Wham shows up on a bunch of hit songs.
-Rebecca Black legitimately collaborates with someone like will.i.am or david guetta or something and gets a minor sized radio hit.
-Lorde scores another hit or two but is ultimately deemed a one-trick pony and a backlash ensues against her from all angles by the summer. She becomes the new lana del rey.
-Lana Del Rey gets more involved in mainstream music through collaborations with hip-hop artists and slowly starts to rebuild a respectable following
-one direction gets a few major pop radio hits, sealing the deal on their popularity. their next album ends up being completely generic pop and their popularity begins to slide.
-beyonce becomes actual queen of music and she gets a minor pop hit in early 2014 but her second or third single to pop becomes the big one. she releases a more pop-oriented album (or standalone single) at the end of the year that becomes one of the biggest of the year. She is hailed artist of the year by everyone.
-Jay-Z somehow also has an incredible year. I don't see him releasing a new album or anything but somehow, he has a great year in the public eye.
-pop radio begins to show signs of settling into something more focused. Straight-up pop music becomes the standard which allows more ballads and mid-tempos into the mix and fewer upbeat EDM tracks. rockier songs make more of an impact in 2014 with some new rock bands who make an impact. There'll be less variety by the end of the year. Power ballads by male singers will be the in thing.
-fun will release their second album that has huge opening week numbers and a huge first single, a second and third Top 10 hit and a few additional singles. The album isn't as interesting or fun as Some Nights and I write them off as another Maroon 5/OneRepublic.
-justin bieber's album flops by his standards. it gets a may release and debuts at #1 but doesn't last long on the charts due to oversaturation of new material and general lack of interest. he goes into rehab and has a public breakdown in some manner.
-canada contributes a major new crossover act. someone new to the US like tegan and sara, serena ryder or hedley, or even someone new altogether, who has a big hit early in the spring (if one of the acts i mentioned) or early in the fall (a la call me maybe or complicated).
-garth brooks goes on tour? it's the biggest of the year.
-carrie underwood is preggers
-there's a surprise collaboration at some point for some reason. whether it's gaga and madonna, taylor swift and harry styles, or some other media-made enemies who either perform live together at the VMAs or record a single for an album or some other big-deal reason.
that's all for now i guess.

Its about 4 months or so into 2014, so I'm updating my predictions. Bolded means it hit the hot 100, or went up on the hot 100
Some Songs I think that could become popular
(Non hot 100 hits as of writing this) Classic Neon lights On top of the world Out of my league (#101, so close!!!!) Thinking about you Harlem (most likely hit the bubbling under, but no) Happy (wow, did I get this one right, I didn't think it would be as big as it is though) Love don't die The man
Hit hot 100: 7/9 Hit top 50: 3/9 Hit top 10: 2/9 Hit top 5: 1/9 Hit number 1: 1/9
(On hot 100 but I think will get higher) Do i wanna know Adore you Alone together Love me again Heart attack (sadly, no) Hey brother All of me Team Dark horse Best day of my life Marry me Burn
Reached a higher peak: 11/12 Reached top 10: 3/12 (BDOML should make it 4 soon) Reached top 5: 2/12 Reached number 1: 1/12 (AOM most likely won't hit number 1)
(Close to peaking or already peaked that could go up) Brave (I thought for sure this was going to be a no, but I'll take it) Pompeii (I wasn't expecting a top 5, but yey!) Sweater weather
Reached a higher peak: 3/3 Reached top 10: 1/3 Reached top 5: 1/3 Reached number 1: 0/3
Overall:
Hit hot 100 or increased: 21/24 Reached top 10: 6/24 Reached top 5: 4/24 Reached number 1: 2/24
Not bad!

Adele's album will be the best selling album of 2014. It won't reach 21 levels, but will be the second best selling of the decade. Her lead single will debut at #1 on the Hot 100 with a 500k sales week. TBA Prince, maybe? Well, he was relevant in the '90s but peaked in the '80s. Monster hit, indeed, though more of a March peak. Nothing yet. Doesn't look like it ATM. TBA Maybe "The Walker" instead. "She Looks So Perfect" is coming! True, so far. TBA It doesn't seem like OTOTW will break out. It's not the biggest hit ever, but it's big. This was kind of a joke. Top 10, even! Wasn't a really big hit, but did good here. Journals didn't even chart! TBA. TBA. They may go with "This Is How We Roll." Dunno what will happen to TMKON. Well, not in March. Good so far. It's shaping up to be huge. It did OK. No sign of a second movie yet. Feel Good! I don't think Pharrell really fits the bill here. Yup. Nope. Yup. It's looking like it'll go top 20 as well. Rixton seemed to have killed off any chances of a breakout. Highly unlikely. Nothing yet.

Ariana Grande will get another pop hit like "The Way" and not see another hit the remainder of the year. We'll see once "Problem" does its magic.
