I seem to recall that B&D's first two singles went to #1, and they haven't slowed down since!!!!! Actually, it was their first four singles. They have had several songs that weren't added right away. They have also have had a few that have really tanked! The radio station in my area has had Tim's new song on heavy rotation since it's debut. I've heard B&D's new song once. What are the call letters of that station ?

Judging from their playlist they look like it takes awhile to add a new song when a previous song was a hit...they are still playing "its getting better all the time"...tims last single wasnt a hit so they are onto the next quicker...2 of the top 3 played songs are older also. www.mmr247.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/stations.asp?c_let=WTQR-FM

Yeah, I know. It drives me nuts! They have way too much Kenny and Tim in their top 30. They didn't put "It's Getting Better All The Time" to the top 30 until it hit the top 5 on the charts. Tim and Kenny always get added immediately. I will say they never played "Mockingbird" even though it was Toby. That surprised me.

Are you SURE that B&D's first FOUR singles all went to #1? I don't know of anybody who's done that.

"Brand New Man", "My Next Broken Heart", "Neon Moon" and "Boot Scootin' Boogie" all went to #1 in 1991 and 1992. Their 5th single "Lost and Found" peaked at #6.

The more I hear this song - the more I hate it. Boring, boring, boring and Tim's voice is very bland on it - has he had voice problems lately?
And the duet he does with Faith on her new cd TERRIBLE! It would be better with Faith alone - her voice is much stronger than Tim's - even Tim will tell ya that!

That is your opinion but judging from fan reaction at his concert last night at the Kentucky Speedway that I attended and was less than 3 feet from the catwalk the fans and the 17,000 of them loved it, singing all the words.
He was awesome, no whistles, pyro, like the review said he doesn't need it. No videos playing. There was two huge, huge sceens on the side, but all it did was show shots of him on stage and the crowd, nothing else.
He worked magic on that stage, with just his great songs, his voice and passion he puts into them and his charmisa(like few others on that stage) and his everyday ordinary presence and true humble down to earth personality
His opening, the lights were low and he just slowly walked on the stage , no lights, no music just him walking on stage to thunderous appaluse that lasted what seem like forever. He then turned and his only words the Dancehall Doctors. It is truly heart warming how much he makes his band have the spotlight and center of his show.
He picked up a guitar and played the guitar to DYWFWT and the crowd was singing right along with him. That is what so special about his concerts the fans have such a connection to his songs, they can sing the complete songs right along with him and do. In fact they can sing the songs word for word of ones never released like they did last night, just album cuts.
He made sure he covered the whole stage, all sides, the complete catwalk, and he reached out and I do mean reached out and touched and shook hands with all parts of ther stage and catwalk many, many times, even getting down on his knees to reach out as far as he can. He truly appreciates his fans, and they know it and that is the reason why he has such a huge loyal fanbase for so long of a time..
Hadn't seen him since last year, and the amazing, amazing, powerful, overwheming applause and reaction he gets from LLYWD is just as chilling as last year. The same goes for the overwheming, appreciative response he gets fOR Drugs of Jesus.

I have no doubt that Tim is an excellent performer and I love all of his music for the most part but this song is not good. I have not bought the new album because nothing has interested me. I usually buy Tim's albums on the Tuesday they are released but LLYWD didn't do much for me so I waited because I was skeptical. I am glad I did. I can't wait for the next album.

Bamafan... I would suggest listening to clips of Old Town New, My Old Friend and Blank Sheet of Paper... those are reason enough to own the album.

I agree his best cuts on the album were never released(excpect LLYWD) just like his STCD album and too some extend his Dancehall album.
Old Town New was wrtten by Bruce Robinson and the GREAT Darrell Scott, besides Everywhere it is my favorite song of Tim's. Another great one is Walk Like A Man and Kill Myself. The album IMO is his best with the song selection it has some stellar songs, too bad they weren't released as singles.

Well DYWFWT is on its way too #1. Last week it was the 2nd biggest ganier in spins after Gretchen. So far it is the second behind Gretchen again this week. Brooks and Dunn have slowed way down and Tim could jump them by the end of the week, it they continue to slow down like they are. Tim has now pulled way ahead of Sara too. Actually out of all the songs in the Top 10, Tim's is in the best position to be the next #1.

I am not so sure Faith will hit #1, I hope she does but her gains are down to under 100 and if Toby hangs on 1-2 more weeks ,I don't think Faith will. She may have to settle for a #2 peak, but I hope not.
Brad I hope he makes #1 and with the release of his album that will help, but he has slowed down some too. Tim is the Top gainer in the Top 10 last week and so far this week.

Tim is the Top gainer in the Top 10 last week and so far this week. I still think Faith is a sure bet for #1. While it is true that Tim had a much better week than Faith (he gained about 3.5 million to Faith's 900,000), Faith still leads Tim by over 7 million on BB. It will be tough for Tim to maintain 3.5 million week gains, so let's say he gains 2 million each week for the next 3 weeks. That would still not get him up to Faith, unless she starts losing audience (which I don't think will happen). Faith is about 4.5 million behind Toby right now, and Toby should start falling this week. I wouldn't be surprised to see Toby drop 2 million this week. If Faith or Sugarland can put together a decent week, they have a shot at #1 this week. And if not this week, then next week shouldn't be a problem. I don't think Tim can make up 7 million in 2 weeks (or 3 weeks for that matter). So I would think that Faith should have somewhere around 2-3 weeks at the top. You might be right (and I'm hoping you are) saying that Tim will pass B&D. Brad might catch some nice momentum, though, and manage to stay ahead of him. I think it will be a close contest between Brad & Tim to see who gets to #1 after Faith.

I don't hope that Brad passes Tim. I want Brad to get at least 2 weeks at #1 and then Tim can take over. I hope you are right and Faith gets at least 2 weeks at #1, don't think Sugarland will at all now.
It all depends if Toby drops and when and how fast. Remember you have Gretchen coming up strong.

Gretchen had better be coming on strong, because Keith Urban will undoubtedly be #1 sooner than you know it, and will undoubtedly spend several weeks there.
If Tim does get to #1, he won't stay very long, unfortunately.

This has been a strange week so far in looking at the MB numbers. Tim is actually down 38,000 for the week (this is from the Monday MB chart through today's chart). At the top of the chart, Toby is down 1.6 million, Sugarland is down 750,000 and Faith is down 300,000. The only 2 songs that have moved well in the Top 10 are Sara Evans (gaining 875,000) and Van Zant (up 710,000).
Sara is starting to close in on Tim again and I think she might still give him a run for his money. They both have to continue to move quickly, because Gretchen is not slowing down and will make it to the Top 10 on BB in only her 3rd week on the chart.

PLEASE let this miserable song die already!! It's already gone much higher than it should have. Why can't Tim sings songs that are halfway interesting like Angry All The Time and Please Remember Me?????? Enough of this crap.

I love the song, and in my opinion there is nothing miserable about it. It makes me laugh. Go Tim, hope it is his next #1. Sure beats some of the other garbage on the charts.
Alll of his songs can't be serious, he had LLYWD and DOJ so this was a break from them serious songs,
Do you have a problem with other light weight songs like Keg In The Closet, Alcohol, Pickin Wildflowers, HickTown, Talking Song Repair Blues and the many more on the charts. There is nothing wrong with a silly, fun song every now and then.

The story which 'DYWFWT' recreates is why it's a great song; it's nothing more than the story of a man who goes from the penthouse (living the good life in a HUGE house with a lovely wife and kids) to the outhouse (working in the pick-up window of a fast-food restaurant because his wife and kids left him for another man, only for that man to coincidentally wind-up in his drive-through window one day, which initiated the bitterness and anger which flows from the song.
If you saw 1999's Best Picture Oscar winner, 'American Beauty', you know how this song parallels the movie, and the rise and fall of the Kevin Spacey character.

I do not understand how this song has gotten as far as it has. His voice in this song sounds so boring. And the lyrics are so stupid. PLEASE, SOMEONE, give me fingernails on a chalkboard.

Tim starts the first of 3 shows in town tonight and the country stations (all 3 of 'em) in this area played this song to death today. It was played at least ever 20 minutes - on one OR MORE of the 3 stations. By quitting time I was ready to throw the radio across the room!
