YOUR ONE-DAYS: This week finds PoMo standard-bearers, a Pop siren and the Duck Dynasty crew (the latter two with Yuletide sets), among others, meeting in the marketplace. Is our dream of a groove-based, post-punk duck-call Christmas record a little closer to reality? It isn't? All right, then. Here are the week's key debuts: Arcade Fire (Merge) 130-140kKelly Clarkson (RCA) 65-70kThe Robertsons Duck The Halls (EMI Nashville) 45-50kToby Keith (Show Dog) 35-40kThomas Rhett (Valory) 30-35kLinkin Park (Warner Bros.) 30-35kRobert Glasper Experiment (Blue Note) 12-14kWe'll be back with more numbers and stuff after we finish carving the office pumpkin into the likeness of Walter Yetnikoff. (10/30p)

Interesting to see Arcade Fire opening with less than their last album despite the Album of the Year win, arena tour and massive hype building up to Reflektor.

That's a bit lower that I would have assumed for AF I think. Good numbers for Kelly & LP though.

For comparison's sake, Buble opened with 140k the same week two years ago. Groban opened with 63k, but his album was released earlier in October.

For comparison. Clay Aiken holds the record for debut week sales of a holiday album at 270K.

Kelly's album will be a big seller for the next 10 weeks. Starting off with that number, she will be platinum by the end of the year...or close to it.

Better numbers for Kelly than I expected to be honest Kelly's album will be a big seller for the next 10 weeks. Starting off with that number, she will be platinum by the end of the year...or close to it. If UTT explodes, it will certainly go platinum by the end of the year. There is no doubt in my mind that this will be the year's biggest Christmas album.

It's sad to see both album and single sales so low, and its only down from here. :( But we have Eminem and Gaga and then 1D and Black Friday and holiday sales. It's only up from here! :)

In August they said the albums were down due to declining catalog album sales which at the time was down 8.8%. Also of course people are streaming more and more. I'm doing it and it's not stopping me from purchasing albums yet but I do now hesitate more to buy a single when I could just put it on a playlist.

For comparison. Clay Aiken holds the record for debut week sales of a holiday album at 270K. What about SuBo's "The Gift" which sold 318K the first week?

^It is considered a holiday album (even though it has just four Christmas "carols"), so that would be the highest debut sales (unless we're missing something).

Kelly sold more than I thought she would for a Christmas album released in October. I expect sales to pick up as we get closer to Thanksgiving. Susan Boyle and Mary J. Blige also.

It'd be great if Kelly C had a huge Christmas song off this album, and her album blew up and sold like Buble 2 years ago

LOL at SuBo. Is her label even trying??? Not very hard here, apparently: @susanboylehq We realised over the weekend that we haven't yet asked for your opinion on the new album cover. What do we all think? On Monday, eleven hours before the album's US release (which has gone unannounced by their account) - chances are they're focusing on the UK since the release date there is November 25: @susanboylehq You can now officially pre-order your copy of 'Home For Christmas' on iTunes. Oooh we just came over all Christmassy bit.ly/1ip8as6Susan_boyle_com @susanboylehq ????? The CD is available here in the US. Is it a secret?

AF disappoints in the UK too, not even close to the 66k opening of 'The Suburbs', their momentum has gone apparently.

Maybe the public wasn't ready for a 2-disc/2LP release by the group? While lots of their songs have charted on alternative, none of them were ever huge. I think they were one of the few AOTY winners that didn't get back in the top 10 after the Grammy win. I think they're in a position where the album can still have a shelf life. That and the full week report isn't in yet.
