This was absolutely perfect. I didn't expect both Neon Trees AND Foster The People to each put out a grade "A" lead single, and, they both did. Very impressed. Adelitas Way better follow suit.

This is fine, but by no means a "hit". It will have a lot of curiosity spins the next month, then drop like a bomb. It will have a similar chart run to Entertainment by Phoenix. It's just not memorable and CHR won't touch this at all. It's just a bit safe to me. Will be completely overshadowed by Neon Trees, and should be.
Fans will of course say "it's amazing"...come on.

It's kind of anemic, tbh.

The verses and pre-chorus are great, but give the impression that the chorus will have a bit more excitement than it does. It's still a very good song though and I'm sure I'll be listening to it quite a bit. I'm going to have to agree that hype will propel this as much as anything though. It may match the peak of "Helena Beat" or "Don't Stop", but will probably accumulate fewer total spins that either one due to lack of longevity.
I also agree that this won't be a Pop hit, especially since Torches didn't give them enough overall Pop success for them to have made a name for themselves over there.
I loved the video and all the different perspectives from which they showed the mural being painted. My eyes didn't leave the screen once while I was watching it.

Really disappointed in this. :(
I love Torches and I still regularly spin it, but this just feels super lackluster to me for a first single.

It does feel a bit safe. "Torches" is going to be hard to top no matter what they do. I just hope it's not a Hot Fuss/Sam's Town situation. The curiosity/hype spins should be enough to get it top 5. I imagine they will be doing a lot of Alt stations Spring/Summer festival/specialty shows as well. So that might make them play it more.

I don't know why people are so down on this. For a forum full of alt fans who complain about wanting more guitars and less synths/keyboards, you'd think this one would get more approval.
For me this is their best yet. I think it's an alt #1 and a CHR top 10...

I really like it. It reminds me a little bit of something from indie British group The Magic Numbers.

It sounds messy; the vocals and production clash. It has a decent melody but it's a step down from songs like "Helena Beat" and "Call It What You Want".

Brandon is still super proud of it and still regularly plays most of the songs from that album in concert. I'm glad he still loves it so much despite the drama surrounding the release re: the critics/general perception of The Killers.

The critics and the general public could kick rocks for all I care. The majority of the songs they perform are from that album on tour.

I love this song because it's FTP, not because it sounds like a radio hit.

I don't get the lukewarm response, people seemed to like the live version. Anyway, I can't stop listening to it, I'm hoping it will spend a few weeks at the top.

Listening to the 45 second clip again, it definitely sounds a lot more exciting. I almost wish the epic buildup led straight into the chorus like it does there.

No complaints here - I really like this song. It's got that signature Foster The People vibe to it, but is just different enough to stand out and not feel like a retread. And while it might not be an obvious crossover smash on the level of "Pumped Up Kicks", I think it will still do very well on Alternative.

This is great, in its own way. But as expected, it does not really match the one-two punch of Pumped Up Kicks-Helena Beat.
