No big surprises. Avicii moves into #1. Zedd and Katy share biggest mover honors. If there’s no Two For One this week (EDIT: And, what do you know, there isn't), it almost won’t be missed. The chart’s got two built in with back-to-back hits from Macklemore/Ryan Lewis and Zedd.

Holy gazoombas, Calvin/Ellie manage to hang on. But, they arguably shouldn't be knocking on death's door quite yet anyway.

Interesting that Do What U Want turns out to be a straight Extra rather than a Breakout (though I suppose it comes down to nothing more than semantics), and that The Monster managed to debut while Counting Stars did not.

Eminem and Macklemore, who are both white rappers enter with their latest hits, bringing Macklemore's total to three hits on the chart. "Sail" and "Same Love" should exit next week, along with either "Treasure" or "I Need Your Love", in case the latter rebounds a few more spots. I'm really bothered because Gaga is supposed to be at #5 again and Drake should be at #6. Besides, I don't like Drake at all but him going soft is a little acceptable. Plus, he's got the biggest hit of his career right now. Plus, it's weird how Eminem debuts, but not OneRepublic so I'm sure it's gonna break in to the Top 30 next week. Also, there's a tweak in spots #23 and #25, in which "Stay The Night" and "Sweater Weather" should make the switcheroo. You know, for the part two years, the chart slows down in November, but it's still going steady and fair as of now. Oh, sorry Aino and Caroline, but "All Night" is already losing steam. Could they be one-hit wonders? :|

I'm not going to ask about "The Fox" by Ylvis anymore, I don't think it will ever make Ryan Seacrest's AT40 and may be the CHUMP SONG TO NOT MAKE THE TOP 40 OF 2013.

I could see "The Fox" being played as a Breakout or something for novelty value, though if they were going to they might have already done so by now. Actually hitting the top 40 is unlikely since (IIRC) it never did so on Mediabase and is already off the top 50, but then again "Harlem Shake" was heard three times as a Breakout before getting one week on the chart that probably wasn't really justified.

The different panels account for the difference in positions, though it's really noticeable this week in the cases of Calvin/Ellie, Eminem Vs. OneRepublic, and Gaga Vs. Drake.

Well, since this was its third week as a "new" extra, it should have an obligatory week at #40 or so next week before then vanishing completely. See also: Cody Simpson only several weeks ago, and certainly many more before him.

Still, how much of a "hit" is a one-week-wonder, anyway?

I could totally see "Harlem Shake" as an Extra on the year-end show due to its viral madness. I'd call it a near-certainty if not for having absolutely no idea how they pick them on those weeks.

Did anyone else notice that both #22 and #21 were both shortened. "Clarity" only got 1 verse and the chorus and ended. "Blurred Lines" was also shortened.

Wasn't Onerepublic "Counting Stars" played somewhere in The Top 20? I just listened on IHeartRadio, and I could have sworn that AT40 went to a commercial after #6 which was Lady Gaga "Applause".

Yes, "Counting Stars" was played after #21. There were no extras in the fourth hour. I have corrected the post, accordingly.

I was just surprised that they were shortened, that's all. I don't really care that they were.

Nice movement this week. Ryan commented that 38 of the 40 songs were on the move. They still need to learn to spread out
the extras better. Soon AWOLNATION will sail away. The new Pitbull song is my favorite of his so far. Very catchy with
Ke$ha on there. Bruno Mars ties the Richard Marx record of first 12 releases to go top 10. Ryan said that Rihanna has joined
a select group (Beatles and Elvis) having #1 hits for 7 consecutive years on the UK chart thanks to her collaboration with Eminem.
He talked to Selena Gomez, and also Miley during the last hour. No official "breakout" again this week. Is it an endangered species?

The record is for a male artist, to be specific. The caveat here is that Bruno required featured credits to accomplish this, as he was featured on "Nothin' On You", "Billionaire", "Lighters", and "Young, Wild, And Free". Richard did it all as a lead artist.
