Congrats to Avicii on his first #1 (and probably only, tbh) Hot 100 Airplay single!

Congrats to Avicii on his first #1 (and probably only, tbh) Hot 100 Airplay single! It's funny we have the first authentic EDM airplay #1 (i.e. not a dance song from a pop artist) just as the trend is declared over. Shows just how effective Avicii was with balancing his own signature style and keeping up with the changing environment of radio. Love it or hate it, "Wake Me Up" seems like one of the five biggest songs of the whole calendar year. So odd to me that even with 12 weeks (and maybe counting) in the Top 5 of the Hot 100, it was never able to push higher than #4 on an individual frame.

I partially think Demons will be number one on AI before The Monster At this rate I would kind of have to agree with you Demons just keeps going up on Airplay every week but the monster is a bigger hit (so far) and could climb up fast I could see it as a radio hit like ltwyl

I wouldn't be too concerned about "the freeze" right now. It'll slow down in 3 weeks.

The Wrecking Ball Chat Roulette video is up to 48 million views. There's 39 hours left, so I assume it'll end up with around 60-65 million.

Has Miley had any response to that video? I just watched it. If it does return to the top spot, it will be after an intermission of nine weeks- would that be the lengthiest gap for appearances at No. 1?
