Finesse was the biggest song that got robbed from #1 this year Meant To Be? If by biggest he meant highest peak in points, then that's true. Finesse peaked with 43,800 points. Finesse 43.8k FEFE 41.3k Nonstop 40.5k SICKO MODE 37.4k Meant To Be 37.2k

Finesse 43.8k FEFE 41.3k Nonstop 40.5k SICKO MODE 37.4k Meant To Be 37.2k Finesse was a mystery to me. 8 weeks at #3 is crazy, and it hung around the top 10 for a while, but then it dropped like a rock out of no where. It's weird that a #4 peaking hit (4 weeks) "24K Magic" was a bigger hit than an 8 week #3

It's weird that a #4 peaking hit (1 week) "24K Magic" was a bigger hit than an 8 week #3 Yes, one of the craziest chart runs of the year. When Finesse finally fell from #3 to #4 it was discounted and returned to its #3 peak for an eight week. In the next three weeks after that, it lost 15%, 14% and 14% of its points respectively. I mean, it's Bruno Mars but radio killed his song like it was Despacito. Also, (very surprisingly) Finesse was the last song to hit #1 on radio, sales and streaming (not simultaneously, though).

Yes - it's too bad streaming, radio, and sales didn't peak simultaneously, but each component decided to drop it simultaneously LOL

How’re I Love It’s chances looking? It could make it, but it would possibly end up in the Bottom 15.

ring, mo bamba, beautiful? They're all longshots, but with this week's gain, Beautiful (currently #130), if it continues its momentum, could squeak in.
Remember, there's only 4 weeks of charts left that factor into the year-end. (Nov 3, 10, 17 & 24).

Here's my version of the Year-end top 100 including the Oct 27 chart, and I've listed still charting songs that have a hope of making it.
(Again, it's strictly weighted points with ascending bonuses for extra weeks in the top 3, but it'll do till fhas posts.)
Under my schema, with 4 weeks left in the year, it's entirely possible Girls Like You could get as high as #5 or even #4 for the year! (It's about 1000 points behind Rockstar, so if it averages #2 over the next 4 weeks, it'll replace it.)

I think Beautiful needs to start being tracked.
total bs that Lucid dreams is gonna be higher than Never Be The Same cuz it was forced out by a forgettable album that songs lasted an avenge of 2 weeks charting when NBTS was bigger but whatever.

Is it at all possible for High Hopes to sneak into the year end? I’d think that it has a pretty solid chance of sneaking into the bottom 20 ala Here and then potentially achieveing a higher YE peak in 2019. Also is there any chance of Shallow making it?

Shallow will free fall unless or until radio picks it up. High Hopes is too far downchart with too few weeks.
Keep in mind: There are now only 4 more weeks of charts that qualify for the BB Year-End.

With the run right now, I can see High Hopes or Mo Bamba getting the "Here" treatment. I can hope Beautiful can sneak in, I'll take it even it ends up at #100.

Ugh I really hope Mo Bamba misses the year end. It’s one of my least favorite songs this year.

I can see Eastside, I’m a Mess, Broken, Trip, and Happier most likely getting in. Maybe Beautiful, I Love it, and sadly Mo Bamba. Happier and Trip are gaining really fast rn.

I know this is starting to veer off into opinion debate but I do think I should point out that songs can have big chart runs and still feel small and insignificant. Girls Like You, Meant To Be, Lucid Dreams, none of these songs really feel very important or significant, more like just incompetent filler. So if you weren't chart watching I can see why a song like NBTS would seem bigger.

NBTS would never have been able to close that gap with a few extra weeks. It only topped that digital songs chart because of a remix and sold just modestly otherwise. Can’t judge LD on longevity yet cyz it’s still going up, but it’s had a hell of a climb. There’s so much more to the music industry than pop and hot AC (which are run by PDs not consumers). LD has reached #1 on rhythmic and has been a streaming monster. LD is bigger.

LD has reached #1 on rhythmic and has been a streaming monster. LD is bigger. 100 percent. Lucid Dreams is a weird song, it's climb has been nothing short of incredible. It rose pretty fast and reached #3, but fell to #16 the next week. Following that it was stuck in the lower half of the Top 10 for months and everyone thought the song had peaked and was on it's way out. But it suddenly caught a second wind and radio started pushing it for real, and it climbed past it's peak and reached #2. And the crazy thing is it's still gaining. It's definitely bigger than NBTS, which would of peaked at #13 if it hadn't been for that country remix that gave it more longevity. Lucid Dreams is a bigger hit overall anyways plus it has naturally grown, unlike NBTS which needed a push to reach it's peak. I'm not even a huge fan of the song, honestly it just now has grown on me. But I fully respect it's grind to the top, it's a survivor.

October 27, 2018 - 49/53 weeks (92.45%)
Added this week: ---> Beautiful (Bazzi feat. Camila Cabello) ---> High Hopes (Panic! at the Disco) ---> Mo Bamba (Sheck Wes) Locked this week: ---> Natural (Imagine Dragons) Estimated Cutoff ---> 190,000 points (margin of error: 3% --- 195,700-184,300) *I think the song at #100 will be around 190k points, but it's possible that it ends up with 195.7k-184.3k
