This doesn't have a connection with the decades' rank but the parent album of "We Belong Together" has sold 6 million. (4.96M are sold in 2005) .Albums are still selling good in 2005 200M is very huge back then. It is so ahead of other 2000s song in terms of airplay. Regarding decades position. "Blurred Lines" points is adjusted because it's included in the streaming era. (Something I though you already know) BL has 21 weeks in top 10 (weighted less) and WBT has 23. There are already 16 songs in this decade which spend more weeks in top 10 compared to BL (and we're just halfway thorugh the decade) .WBT is 3rd place in terms of # of weeks in top 10 in 2000s. I know these things, thanks for refreshing my mind though! Anyway just not normal to see a song never topped a single moment at digital chart could be the #1 of the decade.. We Belong Together came out right after Billboard started counting digital sales in early 2005, at a time when they were low and didn't count for as much as they do now, so WBT was still able to achieve an impressive chart run primarily because of its high airplay. R&B songs didn't tend to sell as well as other genres in those early years, and Mariah, for at least different periods of her career including that one, was not as strong of a performer with single sales as she was with airplay.

Atm mine are all out of order, I will reveal my top 100 predictions right before official list comes out. I gave some spoiler alerts like above plus some on previous pages too. If you wanna check them out. Just curious, what is your method behind your predictions? I go by raw point estimates, it's not subjective, it's pure math, and I'm not eyeballing one song to another based on rank and longevity. Based on your input so far, it seems like you use others' lists as a base and then pick certain songs out to compare and analyze with your eyes. Not to sound harsh, but I can't really put much weight into your "spoilers" when I have no idea how you are forming your conclusions, other than prior discussions about how one song peaked higher and lasted longer than another... which isn't a sound way to predict. The fact that you don't have an actual list in order doesn't lend itself to trustworthy or accurate predictions, tbh. Do you have point totals for anything?

Oh well, still very impressive she will get (more than likely) top 15!

The weekly point difference between SYA and TOL is shrinking weekly... so TOL is still in the running for #2. Amazing, really.
What Do You Mean? will be in the top 100 within 2 more weeks. BOOM!

Allright Brocolli, since you asked, I took my time and sorted some of the songs that I am finished with and put them in order of where they would be ranked.
I use a little bit of everything mixxed.
Obvious Number 1 = Uptown Funk Obvious 2/3 = See You Again/Thinking Out Loud Obvious 4 = Trap Queen
Anyways, These are songs that I have finished with rankings, if the song is not on the list then I am not finished with its rankings so Idk where they will fall yet. So here are the ones I am finished with.
Take Me To Church = 26733 All About That Bass = 21770 Im Not The Only One = 21571 Lips Are Movin = 21009 Jealous = 19750 Time of Our Lives = 19298 Centuries = 18424 FourFiveSeconds = 17899 Animals = 17697 Only = 16841 I Dont f**k With You = 16592 I Dont Mind = 16443 Love Me Harder = 16315 Stay With Me = 16032 THWWIW = 15651 Riptide = 15028 7/11 = 14616 Truffle Butter = 14066 One Last Time = 13687* (Estimated around there because I need like one more week to be done with this) Chains = 13611 No Type = 13167 Ayo = 12640 Habits = 12633 (as you can see its only 7 points behind Ayo) Blessings = 12435 CoCo = 12188 Dear Future Husband = 12059 Lay Me Down = 11888 Chandelier = 11832 Bang Bang = 11696 Heartbeat Song = 11281 The Hanging Tree = 11151 Night Changes = 10830 Tuesday = 10798 Dont = 10730 Ghost = 10701 She Knows = 9840 Prayer In C = 9767 Waves = 9709 Homegrown = 9406 Outside = 8877 Throw Sum Mo = 8659 I Bet My life = 8622 I Want You To Know = 8428
After IWYTK there is a VERY HUGE drop off. Now what do you think of mine? Again these are all the songs that I have finished updating

I was just looking at this week's Hot 100 and see there are 21 songs that have been on the chart for 20 weeks or longer. 4 of those are in the 30-39 weeks range. and 3 are in the 40s. TOL is coming up on a year in a few more weeks. We have too many songs that stick around for far too long these days! It's insane.

What kind of formula are you using to assign points? And what do you mean huge drop off after IWYTK? like nothing comes close? I have songs that are right below it, with point totals not that much lower. 135840 I WANT YOU TO KNOW - ZEDD F/ SELENA GOMEZ (17) 134900 KICK THE DUST UP - LUKE BRYAN (26) 133970 THROW SUM MO - RAE SREMMURD F/ NICKI MINAJ & YOUNG THUG (30)

What rank they are in on chart, how long they stayed in, actual points they earned for the week, estimates on sales/airplay/streams, etc all of those
and the next song I am finished with rankings on are like near 1500 points below IWYTK, thats what I mean. Again keep in mind, I am not finished with some of the songs. Im like only on Week 31 fallen behind.

It is sorta accurate, but I use my own style too. If you want I can try to say what I had for 2014 predictions if I can find them..., most of them were sorta accurate or close. But I feel like this years predictions would be even more accurate.

It won't be accurate to Billboard's actual list though if you add personal opinion :/ But your list seems interesting, I can't wait to see full

My point to you is that Billboard doesn't consider anything but pure chart points... so by you adding in all the other factors makes your formula subjective and inaccurate... whether it ends up being semi-accurate or not. I still don't understand how you can combine all those factors into a point total, but I digress. You do you. :)

In the end we will compare all our predictions, Mine, Yours, Daniels, and Billboardfans, and see who was the closest/furthest from actual list and maybe Dylan too if he does it as well.

I just follow you guys :) Last year I did before I found this site, but that was very innacurate. 100 points for #1, 1 point for #100, and so on. To save time, I only did songs that hit the top 10, as I only needed the list for my year end mashup.

El Perdon has one of the most amazing chart runs of the year so far... especially if it continues to grow after 24 weeks. Top 100 at this point in the year with a weekly peak of #65 is amazing. It's making gains at Top 40 and Rhythmic... so if it ends up becoming a full-on radio hit and sales pick up... it can do some damage in top 100.

421 songs have appeared on the Hot 100 in this chart year so far.
Only 7 of those songs have spent time at #1 (1.66%)
In terms of Billboard chart years, this *could* set a record if I'm not mistaken. Justin may occupy several of the remaining weeks. And maybe one more which would make 8. Just a potential outcome and we'll probably see more than one more, but who knows.
Isn't the record 9 #1s?

Yes, there were nine #1s in Billboard's 2005 chart year.

Correction ... there were also nine in 2002. Those titles mentioned above plus 'U Got It Bad', 'Always On Time', 'Ain't It Funny', 'A Moment Like This'.

I'm referring to billboard's chart year Dec-Nov..... and from what I see there were 10 for 2002. Family Affair is the other one (from Dec 2001).
The 2005 chart year appears to have 9 as you said... so that's the record for CHART year.

I'm hoping TOL can hang onto #2 for 2015. SYA's rate of descent is significantly faster than TOL's, so there's a chance SYA could fall off the Hot 100 before TOL. How close are SYA and TQ, and how close could TQ get, since it's much more likely to finish the chart year in the Hot 100 than SYA?
I think the point difference is probably too large, but I have my own predictions going. I'm feeling fairly certain TOL can hang on, but (even though I like SYA much more than TQ) I'm just wondering if TQ could jump SYA if SYA falls off fairly soon, because TQ will probably be on through the end of the year.
