I'm hoping TOL can hang onto #2 for 2015. SYA's rate of descent is significantly faster than TOL's, so there's a chance SYA could fall off the Hot 100 before TOL. How close are SYA and TQ, and how close could TQ get, since it's much more likely to finish the chart year in the Hot 100 than SYA? I think the point difference is probably too large, but I have my own predictions going. I'm feeling fairly certain TOL can hang on, but (even though I like SYA much more than TQ) I'm just wondering if TQ could jump SYA if SYA falls off fairly soon, because TQ will probably be on through the end of the year. I have about 130k point difference between SYA and TQ. TQ is tough to predict because at this point, with 10 weeks left, it *could* catch up depending totally on how SYA's longevity plays out. If it falls off soon, it's likely. Or if TQ can stay up high while SYA lingers near #45-#50, that could work too.

Oops, I may have messed up on Dear Future Husbands points in my predictions, Ill recalculate it and there could be a chance its points may go up next time I update. BTW everytime I update when I finish new songs Ill just copy paste my predictions I had and bold the new ones in with its actual predictions.
@ Brocolli, how do you Bold BTW?

421 songs have appeared on the Hot 100 in this chart year so far. Only 7 of those songs have spent time at #1 (1.66%) In terms of Billboard chart years, this *could* set a record if I'm not mistaken. Justin may occupy several of the remaining weeks. And maybe one more which would make 8. Just a potential outcome and we'll probably see more than one more, but who knows. Isn't the record 9 #1s? Just curious, how does the total number of songs that appeared on the Hot 100 this year compare to other years? More, less, the same? It seems like it should be less given the slow turnover rate of higher-peaking songs, but I haven't really noticed if lower-peaking songs, like below #50, have had a slower turnover rate as well.

I really wish songs below #50 had 26 weeks instead of 20 weeks. That would make so much more sense. 20 weeks was considered a significant stay on the Hot 100 during the pre-Soundscan era, but 26 weeks is a much more relevant period of time now.

I wish a song could turn to recurrent if it drops off top 40 instead of 50 for songs like Thinkin Out Loud is never gonna leave hot 100.. Now a song's chart staying ability is so frustratingly good and it's just boring

NF couldn't have lasted six more weeks. It didn't have the support in any of the metrics to keep it on the charts more than one or MAYBE two more weeks.

There have been 421 songs appeared on hot 100 this year as of now? Did someone just count laboriously each title ever appeared? I wonder if there's some easier way to do that.

I want both TOL and Trap Queen to get their funk on so that See You Again won't even get in year-end top 3.. however, if year-end ranking is solely based on chart run then it's guaranteed #2 according to my calculation

I did a 2015 year-end prediction solely based on a song's chart run (like they do in decade-end charts) instead of actually points (like in year-end charts) and wonder if anyone wants to see it

Is there any chance that SUAD will pass Sugar and Blank Space for year-end top 5 or no?

Trap Queen is now the 12th song in history to stay in the top 10 for 25 weeks. Here is my share of prediction along with their peaks: 1. Uptown Funk (1) 2. Thinking Out Loud (2) 3. See You Again (1) 4. Trap Queen (2) 5. Sugar (2) 6. Blank Space (1) 7. Cheerleader (1) 8. Can't Feel My Face (1) 9. Shut Up and Dance (4) 10. Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey) (3) 11. Watch Me (3) 12. Love Me Like You Do (3) 13. Bad Blood (1) 14. Take Me to Church (2) 15. Want to Want Me (5) 16. Shake It Off (4) 17. Lean On (4) 18. The Hills (4) 19. Lips Are Movin' (4) 20. I'm Not the Only One (5) Forgive me for triple posting, but it's amazing how 14 out of the top 20 didn't peak at #1...this has to be a record!

^ I refuse to believe that SYA is locked to #2. It's still behind TOL and there isn't much of a difference in weekly points between them now so it's certainly not guaranteed (arguably not even likely) that SYA will make up that difference.

Post To Be is having a Chris Brown Loyal like run. Loyal spent 36 weeks last year. Post To Be spent much longer. Loyals was 30th, so Post To be could be anywhere from 20-30, it definitely is in top 30 for sure though.
