Just listened to the bonus tracks. Why on earth was Black Beauty not on the standard album over a good half of the tracks that are? It's gorgeous, literally get chills during the chorus. So pretty.

Debuts at #1 with 181,622k :'( Just my gut, but I feel like Billboard will have her slightly higher thanks to vinyls.

I will not post anymore in this thread Though my heart breaks ... But ... Love Lana yah he would rather post about her elsewhere Congrats to Lana, a #1 and 181,622k is huge for her! After numerous listens there is about 6 songs on the album I love, others I dont dislike but wont be rushing or going out of my way to listen to, but I still say solid album. Not quite as great as her last album was for me, that was just a mind trip!

The only reason I can think of is that it's been available online for over a year, but that's not really uncommon with Lana songs.

Congrats to Lana for getting that #1 album. It's well deserved and very unexpected. It's amazing how much resilience her career has shown despite the way she was introduced to the US public. A very surprising but a very satisfying thing to see.

Already recording for a new album (or maybe a Paradise-esq re-release) "I have this idea for this record called "Music to Watch Boys To" so yeah, I'm just kind of thinking about that and what that would mean" You can hear it here: lizzydelgrant.tumblr.com/post/90085038067

Fully here for that title. Sounds a little more buoyant.

Her RS cover is pretty awful. What were they thinking? The interview isn't much better. “I’m not sure if they should run this story… I feel like maybe we should wait until there’s something good to talk about. You know? I just wish you could write about something else. There has to be someone else to be the cover story. Like, there has to be. Anybody.”Quit the bullshit, Lana.

After listening to Ultraviolence a million times since it came out, I can barely listen to Born To Die now. I still prefer it as an album overall but it's so vanilla next to the individual tracks on Ultraviolence and simply not as moody and dark which is what got me into Lana in the first place. Plus, I can safely say that West Coast has become my new favorite Lana song. It's just out of this world and still puts me in a trance like the first time I heard it.

I've been listening to the album on and off for the past month and strangely I almost always listen to the whole thing, even tracks I'm not crazy about like Shades Of Cool.

I'll never play Shades of Cool, Fucked My Way Up To The Top, Pretty When You Cry, Cruel World, Black Beauty and The Other Woman individually but whenever I listen to the album in the car I don't mind them and rarely skip any of them.

The only tracks I'm not feeling after who knows how many listens of the whole thing is the sore-thumb "The Other a Woman" and "Guns & Roses." Everything else is at least good, if not stellar. The album as a whole is really fantastic and now on par with Born To Die for me.

What? The other woman is perfection. She's giving me Snow White Disney princess teas with the vocals.
I agree with G&R.. Probably her worst most boring song ever. Worse than Lolita.

Chalis, you dislike my favorites LOL. I do love West Coast as well. Florida Kilos grew on me but it still sounds like a song from the Spring Breakers 2 soundtrack to me.

It's my least favorite vocal performance of hers, but I definitely see how it works for people. I mostly don't like it because it doesn't fit the album sonically at all. It seems like a great song for her to cover on your or maybe as a bonus track, but it always disrupts my listening of the album.

The second half of the album is still really boring to me, but "Fucked My Way Up to the Top" has got to be the worst offender. The chorus is beyond cringe-worthy. "Old Money" and "The Other Woman" are nice but they always remind me of "Bel Air" and "Blue Velvet", respectively, and the new material just doesn't compare.
"Shades of Cool" is actually my favorite after "West Coast" though, so there's that!

I agree with Other Woman not fitting the cd overall, but I just love it anyway. Florida Kilos is one of my favorites. I can't imagine not loving it ha ha. Though, Florida Kilos feels like it should be on another cd too.

LOL. I think Fucked My Way is my favorite actually because it reminds me the most of BTD.
