Reminds me of the videos that she used to edit by herself. I liked it. But i kinda miss the longer videos like Ride and Tropico.

I'm not a big fan of Lana, but I like her. I've listened to both Born To Die and Paradise, and I would like to listen to some of her unreleased songs. Which ones would you recommend me to start with? Which ones are your favorite ones? This is my personal favorite from her unreleased tracks. Other really good ones include Damn You, Serial Killer and You Can Be The Boss. Never heard this before! I love when she sings in her lower register. "Serial Killer" is great. That's the song that made me a huge fan. I don't think it was unreleased, but I absolutely love "Carmen". That was on Paradise, right??

She sat on this and dropped 'Shades of Cool'... why? Anyway yeah this is gonna be a good era for her commercially. Shades of Cool was a pre-order single. Ultraviolence is the second single, the video is being shoot next week. Double post, but I adore "Shades of Cool" and "Florida Kilos". Out of the whole album, those are both my #1s. I love and like most of the songs on the album. It took a while for "Old Money" and "West Coast" to grow on me though. And I don't know how I feel about 2 other songs.

Nice to see it selling OK even without Lana doing a ton of promo for it.

Honestly, the only "promo" I've seen for Lana recently was her "admitting" she's screwed a lot of people. That was last month though.

Lana Del Rey is interesting in that she is into her music and just lets it sell on its own. I love her stuff so it works for me!

Lana Del Rey announces two gigs in a cemeteryLana Del Rey has announced two US shows – in a Hollywood cemetery. The singer will play two dates next month (October 17 and 18) at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which according to its website is the "final resting place to more of Hollywood’s founders and stars than anywhere else on earth." It also regularly hosts gigs. The two dates are the first to be announced by the singer since she pulled out of a string of European appearances earlier this month due to illness. She cancelled her scheduled appearance in BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge and subsequently two private concerts for Virgin Radio listeners in Paris. A statement from the singer's label Polydor/Universal read: "For medical reasons independent of our will, the artist has been forced to cancel all promotional activities planned in Europe over the coming days." Lana Del Rey released her second album 'Ultraviolence' in June, which was the follow-up to her 2012 debut 'Born To Die'. Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys produced a number of tracks on 'Ultraviolence' including lead single 'West Coast'. www.nme.com/news/lana-del-rey/79929

I forgot that this era existed already. What a far cry from her debut buzz...

Yeah, but the album seems to be selling fairly well with zero promo.

Yeah, I mean I can't stop listening to the album still, all these months later...but the hype around her has all but extinguished.

It kind of felt like Lorde took her mainstream buzz.

Sales are actually decent considering they decided not to promote and released cheap, not memorable videos compared to the perfection of so many of her earlier ones. She will likely go gold in the US, maybe 1.5 worldwide after the holidays which is ok for the circumstances.
