I finally had a chance to listen to Chase Rice's acoustic set (Superfan Concert) that he did last week on SiriusXM. He said the name of his album that is coming out late summer (think August per a tweet) will be called Ignite the Night. Three songs from the Ready Set Roll EP will be on the standard version of the new album - Ready Set Roll, How She Rolls and Look at my Truck. The other three tracks will be on the deluxe version - Best Beers of Our Lives, Party Up and Country In Ya as well as Woah. He confirmed Carolina Can as a track on the album and said there will be a good mix of songs - ballads, old, traditional country sounds and his party songs too. @chasericemusic · 5h BRAND NEW full album called "Ignite The Night" will have 11 new songs and drops 8/19. AMPED for new music, let's get weird y'all.

A little birdie has mentioned that a country diva will be pulling a Beyonce this fall. Can't say who, but she is one of three artists Apple has lined up with this new marketing technique. Not all 3 acts are country. No streaming for the album for the first year but physical albums will be out before Christmas. October/November is the time it should happen. It is NOT Taylor Swift. The mods can permban my IP on this if it doesn't happen. That is how certain I am that it will. **Sorry I am trying to make this as clear as possible, so I am editing** I'm hoping that it'll be Faith Hill. It has been 9 YEARS since her last album got released, ignoring that Christmas album in 2008 (and several flop singles). It would be a perfect timing to segue that comeback because of Meanwhile Back At Mama's doing well on the Country charts. I say Faith should release a single late July and let it rise for awhile and then drop the album out of nowhere in October because I don't feel that Faith exactly has that star power anymore to rake in the sales. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Shania Twain as well. We know she has been working on some material as of late as well. Either way it goes, I'm excited!

Fresh off of an appearance on the television show America's Got Talent last week in which she adeptly received a standing ovation and a "pass-through" to go to the next stage by the judges covering "Sea of Love," Emily West has released a surprise EP called Rocket Science to i-Tunes this week. The four track mini-album includes the title track off of her critically acclaimed previous EP, I Hate You I Love, as well as a duet with a favorite of hers, Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith, on a song titled "Two Sleepy People."
Says West, "(I'm) so excited for you to hear some new songs. Especially my duet with one of my favorite artists, Ron Sexsmith!"
Emily West moved to Nashville at 18 and had minor success as a country music artist. She packed a bag for New York 4 months ago to try to hear herself think and reinvent herself. She wanted a clean slate. A do-over. Emily's dream is to tell stories through songs in a theatre. Making the crowd nervous in a 'one woman show she creates.
You can hear the title track below.
Rocket Science EP Track Listing: 1. I Hate You, I Love You Again 2. Two Sleepy People 3. Rocket Science 4. Talk is Cheap

So, four years after scoring her only top 40 hit, a duet with Keith Urban on Blue Sky (#38), Emily West goes on America's Got Talent and thinks she can start over with just an EP? Is she trying a serious comeback here or what?

What a nice looking album cover. Dustin Lynch can get it! So, four years after scoring her only top 40 hit, a duet with Keith Urban on Blue Sky (#38), Emily West goes on America's Got Talent and thinks she can start over with just an EP? Is she trying a serious comeback here or what? Yeah, because obviously immediately after auditioning for one of these shows is when you're supposed to put out a full-length new album on a record label that she doesn't yet have or may not have, depending on how she ends up doing. If anything, releasing an EP is more than she could've done, which is nothing.

I know Emily just well enough to know that she's been grinding on her career those entire four years. She released a phenomenal EP at the end of 2012 and has been following her muse away from current format country music. She still adores the classic stuff, but her style was more appropriate for the singer-songwriter Warwick-Streisand-Bacharach-style even while on Capitol Records. Here's an interview I did with her a little more than a year ago talking about her time at the big label and where she wants to go with her music. For her, it's all about trying to find an ability to carve out a career in a music style that doesn't sell out her soul:

The titles on the upcoming Sunny Sweeney album sound really interesting, though I expected no different from her. I'm glad there's a solid 13 tracks on the record. I was disappointed Concrete had only 10 songs, even if it was still a strong set.

Really love the chorus to Willie's "Hard to be an Outlaw": "Some super stars nowdays get too far off the ground. Singing 'bout the backroads they never have been down. They go and call it country, but that ain't the way it sounds. It's enough to make a renegade want to terrorize the town." No one can say it better than that! After these lyrics of Willie's new song just came out, get this...tell me if this isn't slap in the face irony... WSOC in Charlotte is promoting on their FB a concert tonight at the local "Whiskey River" Bar tonight by an coming "Hick-Hop" (their words) artist Real Big Smo. LOL! I called them out on it, then they deleted my post. But a few posts down they posted about Willie debuting at #1...so I called them out on it there, not deleted yet. lol! Hypocrites.
