Fantastic hold for Beyonce. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the physical does better than expected and she goes as high as 350k possibly.
Bad opening for B.o.B. I get that his history of selling albums isn't that great, but that's still lower than I expected.

Can someone please post which store received the physical release this weekend? Billboard said pretty much every retailer will be getting the cd.

YAS @ The hive turning out so hard. I can't. I love it. Wasn't this past week (Bey's 618K) the last chart week of 2013? Won't this 250-275K be the first chart week of 2014?] No... In the Nielsen-Soundscan year, the last chart week of the year is the first one to contain more 2014 days than 2013 days. There are two 2013 weeks left. Correct! This week's charts are Week 50. 2 more weeks left...

www.billboard.com/articles/news/5840361/beyonce-set-for-second-week-at-no-1-on-billboard-200-chart'Beyonce' Set for Second Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart By Keith Caulfield, L.A. | December 19, 2013 9:00 AM EST Forecasters suggest the album could sell 260,000-280,000 copies in the week ending Dec. 22. Beyonce's self-titled album is aiming for a second week atop the Billboard 200 chart, according to industry forecasters. The set debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart this week with 617,000 sold in the week ending Dec. 15, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Label sources suggest it could sell another 260,000 to 280,000 in the week ending Dec. 22. The new Billboard 200's top 10 will be revealed on Thursday, Dec. 26. That second-week sales sum would include physical CD copies of the album, as well as digital downloads from other retailers outside of iTunes. The album bowed exclusively in the iTunes Store on Dec. 13, and debuted atop the chart this week after only three days on sale. iTunes is the only seller of the album through Dec. 18. The physical version of the album should start to reach U.S. retailers sometime between Dec. 18 and 20. (The arrival day varies, depending on how far -- and fast -- the CDs travel from the distribution center to retailers.) If "Beyonce" sells 260,000 in its second frame, that would bring its cumulative total to 877,000 -- making it among the top 20 biggest-selling albums of 2013. It's currently ranked No. 24 on the year's best-seller list. The highest new entry on next week's chart will likely be B.o.B's "Underground Luxury," with perhaps 35,000 sold.

I'm really thinking they're underestimating the CD sales for Beyonce as it becomes available. I think 300k+ is quite likely this week.

Any info./projections about the the #2 and #3 albums? Just curious to see what Kelly and Garth sales projections are. Now more than ever I reeally want Kelly to beat that bigoted redneck/group. Some are saying (due to what he said) they may actually get a'Chick Fil A' like bump lol w/ 'others' like him coming out in full force to support the statements he made :#.

Sales for all Christmas albums including Kelly Clarkson's will plummet in about a week anyway. The negative publicity the Robertsons are getting right now should not do anything more than the date on the calendar would

Huh, didn't expect her sales to be so front-loaded. It wouldn't debut with +1 million in a full week after all. Of course the upcoming physical release will ensure a much better sales hold next week. front loaded? 275K from second week, mostly digital sales is still more than most of these gerls could do in their debut weeks with a full physical release, tons of airplay, and big ol buttloads of advance promo. rest assured that Beysus is still decapitating everyone's faves. I never said it's doing worse than any of my faves but let me continue to try SO hard. In 3 days it sold 617k = average 205k per day. In 7 days it's predicted to sell 275k = average 39k per day. That is a drop of 81%. All I said was that its sales appear to be very front-loaded. Simple observation. Jeez.

I got what you were trying to point out, Super. I think people are just really sensitive about Beyonce right now. It has definitely been one of the most bizarre sales trends ever.

It's probably due to the fact that a lot of Beyoncé's sales are from media coverage of the release. With that dying down, her sales are falling from the stratosphere. The only good way to get consistent long term sales is to have radio hits. If the album doesn't get that, then we'll see it's sales taper off pretty quickly.

Beyonce is looking to see a 55-60% drop. In today's music industry, that is a great hold. One that the majority of the releases this year did not see.

Now that the hype has died down it wouldn't surprise me to see big drops in album sales for Beyonce. When will they start releasing singles to itunes?

The tracks can be bought individually starting tomorrow. Drunk In Love alone will probably shoot up high since Urban has attached to it so quickly. I expect another Estimate Spike starting when the physical copies reach the shelves. None of these people have an idea of how many units will be shipped to stores especially since Target is now out of the equation.

Of course she's not seeing a big drop...her first week was only 3 days. Exactly. If One Direction had released their album on Friday, it'd had spent 2 weeks at #1. That applies to several albums obviously.

www.billboard.com/articles/news/5847707/duck-dynasty-christmas-album-sales-gain-phil-robertson-scandal'Duck Dynasty' Christmas Album Heading for Sales Gain Amidst Phil Robertson Controversy By Keith Caulfield | December 19, 2013 The controversy swirling around comments made by "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson hasn't seemingly negatively impacted the sales of the show's hit album "Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas." The holiday effort from the smash A&E series, which features Robertson duetting with country music legend George Strait, may sell around 125,000 in the week ending Dec. 22 -- so suggest industry forecasters. The set debuted at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart in November and is currently in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. That forecast of 125,000 would mark a 16% gain for the year's second-biggest selling Christmas album, which sold 108,000 last week (ending Dec. 15), according to Nielsen SoundScan. (Most albums are on course to earn a sales gain this week -- so "Duck the Halls'" increase should not be seen as unusual. Sales are up across the board thanks to holiday shopping and last-minute gift purchases.) The top selling album of the coming week will likely be Beyonce's new self-titled set, with around 260,000 copies. "Duck the Halls" will probably end up around No. 5 on the chart. To date, "Duck the Halls" has sold 569,000. (Kelly Clarkson's "Wrapped In Red" is the year's biggest holiday album, with 578,000.) In an interview with January's GQ magazine, Robertson discussed his views on "sin," comparing homosexuality with bestiality. Yesterday (Dec. 18), that comment, among others, started to spread through social networks like wildfire. A&E then released a statement, saying that they were "extremely disappointed to have read" Robertson's quotes, and had placed him "under hiatus from filming indefinitely." The album was released on Oct. 29 by 4 Bears/EMI Nashville/Universal Music Group Nashville. It is unknown if Robertson's comments will alter any promotional activity planned for the album this week. Spokespersons for both Universal Music Group Nashville and its parent company, Universal Music Group, have yet to respond to a request for comment from Billboard. "Duck the Halls" is currently at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, spending its seventh consecutive week in the top 10. The album spent four straight weeks at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.

What's amusing is some people who decided they need to protest against A&E suspending Phil Robertson are suggesting buying up all these Duck Dynasty merchandise. I guess they don't realize the license owner of all that merchandise is A&E therefore they're just making A&E rake in the cash. I think despite all the hoopla and the support Duck Dynasty is getting from Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and the lot, ultimately the show is now tarnished. I think it'll have a hard time recovering.

This is key: It may not be that there's increased support but just that his comments had no effect at all. We'll have to see how the 16% gain compares to other Christmas sets this week.

Okay...a totally misleading and contradictory article lol. The headline states that due to the controversy it will help the album YET in the actual article says the sales bump isn't unusual as *most* albums should expect a sales bump. Who the F hires some of these people? :# lol.

Go Kelly! Hopefully she can keep that lead in front of those musty/stinky, ignorant redneck pieces of trash. Long as she maintains in or around that lead plus next week, she'll have the best selling X-mas album of the season. Reeally want her to get it now more than ever (for other obvious reasons than just being a fan).
