YOUR NEW RELEASE: Yep, we're in the singular mode, as B.o.B. is the only major new release this week. Based on one-day sales, he's looking at a first week of 35-40k. Meanwhile, Beyoncé will enjoy another week atop the chart #1 with 250-275k, in which case she'll be nearing the 900k mark RTD; with physical product not hitting stores until the end of this week, the Queen's just getting started. (12/18p)

Can't wait for the physical release the slagyage will be real.
Wait does this prediction include possible physical sales?

I feel like until the physical gets released they really can't tell how it will ultimately sell.

Huh, didn't expect her sales to be so front-loaded. It wouldn't debut with +1 million in a full week after all.
Of course the upcoming physical release will ensure a much better sales hold next week.

Plus, they are only going by what has been tallied from iTunes (even if they have included some guesswork) since they aren't yet able to track the physical release as of yet. I'm sure the projections will increase come Saturday

I don't think there is a way to ever know if Bey would(n't) have done a milli. Some of the albums that have debuted with 1m+ in the recent past didn't start off with 1m projections, but trended upward; having a full week gave them the benefit of frontloaded first-day demand coupled with weekend shopping. Bey's first day and weekend shopping were the same so she lost that advantage. But she may trend upward this week, especially with the physical release coming. That on its own should be good for at least 80-100k stocking stuffers, though I figure that was already calculated into the 250-275k estimate.

This year isn't even over and I think we've already got a strong contender for #1 album of 2014 on BB200.

I personally don't think Adele will have huge numbers the way people are predicting they will be.
Of course time will tell.

We barely got 2 mil. this year so 3 million is from the past when people were buying albums. All the breathless and shocked why isn't so and so selling as much albums as they did in the past gets tiresome sometimes. People are streaming now and not buying albums. Even track sales are down 5% this year. It'll only get worse next year. Just start accepting it now and you'll stop being stunned at the small sales and the 80% drops.

I just mean that people are predicting first week sales over 1 million, for example.

YAS @ The hive turning out so hard. I can't. I love it.
Wasn't this past week (Bey's 618K) the last chart week of 2013? Won't this 250-275K be the first chart week of 2014?
Also - let's keep in mind that the first projection for Bey's 3 days was 200K. This could still grow! I have high hopes that she can clear 300-350K second week.

I'm certainly not saying it's impossible by any means but a gut feeling predictions tells me it won't.

Of course the drop is going to be smaller than what we have seen, the release schedule was different, 1st week 3 days, 2nd week 7 days, just natural the drop wouldn't be drastic.

In the Nielsen-Soundscan year, the last chart week of the year is the first one to contain more 2014 days than 2013 days. There are two 2013 weeks left.

I'm sure they have the physical sales included in the number.. If they hadn't the whole prediction would be pointless as they KNOW it'll be released this weekend.
Otherwise they would've put it like "250-275k units digitally plus the physical sales later this week" or something like that.

a true albums artist! her 2nd week would have been a smashing debut, Beyonce is going to use these numbers and turn them into single success. Smart woman she is ........first worry about the bigger issue and then move on to the smaller ones. Them hits will now be icing on the cake.
