"Tough Love" debuted at #34 in the UK. She deserves so much more. Funny how all that acclaim has never translated into any real, sustained chart success for the lady, while her contemporaries go platinum and beyond in her native land. But Ed Sheeran just took a shit on her album so we'll see how that one fares. It was only a matter of time, too: Ware captured and bottled a palatable era of adult contemporary music for her last album so it's only fair she branches out and into the MOR grayness.

"Say You Love Me" has grown on me a lot. I think it would work well as the lead single for U.S. as it is very sing along type of song. At first, I thought it was boring and seen unlike her. "Tough Love" is still the best out of everything this era. I don't like "Share It All" at all.

I don't care for the Ed Sheeran song tbh and I agree that Tough Love is the best song she's put out from this album so far.

"Say You Love Me" is kind of boring. I don't really like that style from her. Didn't love "Wildest Moments" either, but that one was definitely better.

"Tough Love" is being used in a promo for the new season of Iyanla: Fix My Life. Needless to say, my life was fixed when I heard it blaring from my tv!

"Want Your Feeling" is out. I like it a lot more than "Say You Love Me".

I prefer it to "Say You Love Me" too. I like the chorus.

As much as I love her she's yet to put out a crossover hit though so it's really not surprising that she hasn't had huge record sales / a solo hit. Her song with Disclosure was probably her best chance at it so far and they left that as an album track.

Everyone got married this past weekend (celebrities and non-celebrities I know). Why was this weekend so popular for weddings?

Say You Love Me is flawless. I am definitely going to like this more than her debut. When it came out, I bought it but the only song I play from it is Wildest Moments.

Congrats to Jessie!! I'm so happy for her! I'm kinda obsessed with "Want Your Feeling" right now. It's definitely my favorite single from the album so far, which, needless to say, I'm super stoked for.

Listen to her full iTunes Festival live set here:
_____________________
Wow, I'm kinda floored? This album might seriously be my favorite 2014 release by a female artist right behind Mariah's. I truly hope the studio versions don't differ too much from the live arrangements because I'm in LOVE with what I heard. There is such a cohesive sound running through all the songs - which I don't find tedious at all - this sophisticated, lush atmospheric sound is something I've personally missed from current music... it reminds me of old-school Prince, Genesis, The Pretenders, Cyndi Lauper... The feel of this new album is not drastically different from the feel of her debut, but I think she perfected it here. Besides the promo singles we've heard, which range from good to epic IMO, I loved "Cruel" (I really LOVE this!), "Sweetest Song," "Champagne Kisses," "Keep On Lying" (what kinda reggaeish bop?!!), "You And I Forever," and "Pieces."
PS: Jessie seems like a really cool person. I love her sense of humor and she's pretty engaging with the audience.

What a fantastic setlist. This may turn out to be my favorite album of the year. I just love her.

Aesthetics, guest stars, vibe...10x better than her debut. I am so excited. The song with Miguel is FLAWLESS. Also, I'm getting Mariah vibes from this song. Sounds like it could have fit on MIAM if she had done more work with Miguel.

I loved Devotion and this sounds very promising.
I don't like Slant generally, but that review outlines really well why she's very successful critically but it doesn't fully translate to major commercial success. She's an extremely good singer (and by that, I mean that in addition to having a great voice, she knows how to approach her material to make them great records as well), however she has virtually no persona unfortunately compared to pretty much every single other solo act finding commercial success right now, both male and female.
It would be really cool to see her get a big hit (I agree that the Confess To Me was probably her best chance so far), but she's going to need some kind of tie-in (commercial, movie, tv, etc.) to get it to people. It's very nice how people like Disclosure, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran all rave about and respect her, but at the end of the day popular contemporaries praising you doesn't automatically translate to their audience seeking you out by themselves.

She's on a roll! "Pieces" has an epic made-for-TV-drama-cliffhanger-moment chorus and some pop Brandy-esque harmonies during the verses. I'm sold.

Great album. A natural evolution and solid improvement next to her debut. My favorites are "Cruel," "Want Your Feeling," and "Pieces."

This is an improvement upon her debut, which was excellent itself. The only songs I'm not a big fan of on the standard version of the album are "Say You Love Me" and "Desire". They're not bad, but I probably won't be listening to them much. The rest are all on repeat. The deluxe version tracks are underwhelming; I only like "All On You".
