I'm in love with SYLM! Gonna listen to the rest of the album now and see what else moves me.

Just listened to all the clips. Yeah, she can keep the deluxe. Only good one on there is the Jamie XX one, which should have made the standard but, predictably, my favorites are the Sheeran and Miguel songs. I love Desire too, based on the clips alone. It's crazy how much better this sounds than her debut, which put me to sleep outside of Wildest Moments which I am still obsessed with. That song is unparalleled beauty.

predictably, my favorites are the Sheeran and Miguel songs. Predictably because they're everyone else's least favorites? (Esp. the Sheeran one). Lee I'm convinced you take polarizing opinions on purpose sometimes most times to facilitate some good friendly debate.

I'm convinced you take polarizing opinions on purpose sometimes most times to facilitate some good friendly debate. Likewise. Kinda like you ragging against Timberlake, but seriously, I am a HUGE Ed Sheeran fan. You probably wouldn't know that since I am guessing you are not and therefore, don't hang out in his thread but, there it is. I'm also a huge Miguel fan. I've also said several times that I wasn't the biggest fan of her first album other than a few songs. Overall, I feel my tastes fall in line with the majority of people on Pulse. It is what it is. But, if it happens to foster debate too, then great!

"Champagne Kisses" and "Sweetest Song" are my two favorites. The album is overall decent and more cohesive than her debut (more highlights on it for me though). There isn't any "Running" or "110%" on the album unfortunately even though "Champagne Kisses" is in the running to become my favorite song from her. The middle part of the album does drag a bit, imo. Vocally, she is always great.

But, if it happens to foster debate too, then great! Because Timberlake is SO universally loved sans moi? Anyway, since you made your reply all about YOU and YOUR fandoms that no one even questioned, let me make this about ME for a little. I do like Ed Sheeran! I met him in London when he was on his way up- he was super nice and more importantly his musicianship while performing was truly impressive. But his style is NOT Jessie Ware's style. It's not a great mix, and while some do enjoy their collaboration, many core Jessie fans list at as the least authentic and least genuine sapfest on the album. Anyway, my comment wasn't about your fandoms (you're free to have as many as you please!) but rather how you seem to intentionally go against the grain most of the time: "Pretend" on Tinashe's album! Post-90's being the "better" Mariah! h00d! The list goes on and on. Now excuse me I've got a hipster lifestyle to get back to now...enjoy your music and I'll enjoy mine :)

Ugh. I take it back: you can't be a hipster because a true hipster would never call himself one. I just remember you (with a couple others) railing against 20/20 like it was utter trash when you KNOW that is NOT the case, bro. I'm glad you like Ed though and that you met him in London. That must have been really cool! I've never met a foreign celebrity in their native country, let alone before they were famous. . Anyway, forgive me if I take offense to something that you have brought up twice now: this concept of my deliberately or intentionally going against the grain. As everyone posts their favorites on the album that I happen to disagree with, I exercise my right to do the same. I truly love and stand by everything I say I do. My ITUNES play counts are a testament to that. I am a big ASAP Rocky fan and I think Pretend is a sweet little jam! Excluding Glitter (which I like WAY more than her debut and Emotions put together) and Charmlessbracelet, I DO think post 90's Mariah is better! But that is just my taste! H00d is a real friend to me outside of Pulse, which is why I support him! We should always support our friends! Can you give me more examples of my contrarian ways?? Ugh allow that, never boardicide or stop posting here, please. You are easily in my top 5 of people with whom I converse. #dontchange

I cannot get enough of Kind of...Sometimes...Maybe!
Not listed in the projections for next week. Devotion debuted at #79 with 6k so I'm hoping she can crack top-50 with 10k this time.

I just listened to this. My favorites are You & I (Forever), Sweetest Song, Champagne Kisses, All On You and Midnight Caller. I like it more than her debut.

I take it back: you can't be a hipster Of course I'm not, silly! Do I know that? Do YOU know that? It's a s**tty album that would have went completely unnoticed if it were released by anyone else. Touche! Like I said, your tastes or your tastes and they're yours to enjoy! Even if my taste doesn't align with yours (although, we like many of the same artists, albeit contrasting song choices usually) I still appreciate anyone who appreciates music so much, ya feel me? I'm happy to stand corrected but sometimes you do take the devil's advocate quite far (Tinashe comes to mind presently). Just my little observation! No harm intended! I plan on sticking around. Don't worry bb! Thanks. I'm one of my favorites too!

Well, that review was completely wrong...I was instantly struck by more songs on this album than the first, definitely. Just like that album, I will probably only wind up sticking with a handful but I can think of about 5 standouts on this album off the top of my head which is more than I can say for Devotion. I read some reviews that basically said Jessie Ware is elegant dinner party music which I totally agree with. It's inoffensive but sometimes, that's a bad thing. Her production choices this time around make Tough Love stand out more than Devotion but it's all a bit sleepy, like Sade (who she is also compared to).

I bought the physical copy today. :)
I liked her debut but this one I *LOVE*. The second best album of 2014 for me.

At the moment my top three are "Cruel," "Pieces," and "Champagne Kisses." I only skip "Say you Love Me" and "Kind Of...Sometimes... Maybe" (although the J. Cole remix improves this one tremendously for me).

I am not here for all the apathy towards KOSM! I'm not apathetic to it. I think it's hideous. The worst song on the album.
