She's very laid back. I liked how she spoke about the Burger King mess.

I feel like a lot of people would say that interview was boring but I just love how chill and quick to the point she is.

LOVED that interview. How REFRESHING to have a star that only has nice thing to say about EVERYONE that she's asked about. I love her so much; honestly whether I'm ever feelin' Mary's current single or not, it doesn't even matter. She's someone I will ALWAYS root for. Anyway, some interview specifics that got me all choked up: - Mary discussing SWV! I love that she loves them. It must be kind of eerie to have been relevant for three decades while your original peers have fallen off the face of the Earth and have to fight for even a sliver of interest now. Meanwhile, Mary's like... well I've been here all along.
- "The British pound is killing the dollar right now." Too true! Mary the economist is astute and adorable.
- "As an R&B artist, do you see Drake as competition?" LMFAOOOO I gave that part an LOL irl.
I wonder what is her issue with that title? Even though she is right that everyone should just call her Queen. She hasn't really made "hip hop soul" since the Love & Life era. She makes all sorts of R&B, pop, and soul music so why pigeonhole herself? Especially, as she said, she's trying to expand beyond her comfort zone and experiment in different directions during this era in particular.

She mentioned that there was a period when she felt like making music was becoming like a job, and not a passion, I wonder what albums she specifically meant. I instantly thought she meant the past few but then part of me felt like she might have been talking about some pre-Breakthrough albums.

Loved the interview and especially how the hosts kept it cute. Mary is definitely a legend so she deserves all the respect in the world regardless of album sales. I'm definitely checking out the new album.

My memory is foggy at best, but I vaguely remember Mary saying she felt uninspired in between Share My World and Mary?

Loved that interview!
Pretty cool to see her address the whole Burger King incident, although I do wish she would've elaborated on the politics of the "Think Like a Man Too" album coming out & disappearing w/o much promotion.
She did mention her new label is Capitol Records, so perhaps it was just to end her previous contract?

She was previously signed to Geffen/Interscope now Capitol. I think LA Reid just hired her to do the soundtrack. That's how she made it "seem" when she interviewed on the Steve Harvey morning show the day of the soundtrack release.

'Therapy' is a good song. Not a surefire hit or anything, but it's pretty good.

I've been listening to two of my favorite Mary album tracks a lot the past day or so:
I always felt both of these should have been singles. Hell, release them still TODAY and they still sound fresher than 90% of her catalog in between The Breakthrough and The London Sessions.

No One Else is one of my all-time favorite Mary J. Blige songs. So gritty, soulful, bluesy. It's perfect, really.

I can't get the chorus of "Therapy" out of my head, especially the background humming with the line "When I can go Therapy" over it

The London Sessions album is currently number 5 on the itunes R&B charts based off preorders. I hope this album is successful for her.

This is an interesting concept. I am looking forward to it, which is major for me because I skipped her last 2 releases-My Life 2 & the Think Like A Man Too soundtrack.

I'm really digging Therapy. I find the chorus infectious, particularly the humming. Maybe not particularly radio-friendly, but I think this sound is going to make for a great album.
I love the concept for this album (especially because I'm from London - good on you Mary!)

Her performance for the iTunes festival is up. She performed a bunch of the old hits. And she performed the first five songs off The London Sessions. The new songs sound great. This will definitely be one of her most critically acclaimed projects if nothing else.

I can tell this project is going to very divisive. She'll probably win over some people who don't like her usual material but also alienate the people who want want modern urban Mary. Of the songs we've heard, the only one I love is "Whole Damn Year" but I don't dislike any of them.

I didn't get to hear "Doubt" and "When You're Gone," but I heard "Not Loving You" and OMG soul baring Mary is BACK!!! :'(
By the way, the poster for her appearance on the iTunes festival would've made a decent cover. Much better than what we got anyway.

Whole Damn Year is flawless. WOW. Therapy is good but what the fuck is up with that ghetto chorus? "When I can GO THERAPY" LMFAO. Classic Mary. I love that she is soul baring again.

Her album covers since No More Drama have all been terrible, it's like they just choose any random picture of her. The only exception was the Christmas album, oddly enough.

This past Saturday was "Cassette Store Day" (yes, random, I know) and guess what I managed to find:
