After this "Rock-A-Bye Heart" would fall to #34 then to #35 for three weeks before falling out for good, and a pretty fast flame out. * At first country radio played the second version with Allison Moorer due to Sheyl's label not giving permission to Kid Rock's to release the song as a single. But as you can see, many ignored and the original version would take off. Great picks! I really love both Steve and Amy's songs and really wish both would've been much bigger. I like Kellie's a lot too but I think it was a mistake as a single. I do love the video though if only because it's filmed here in Montreal and I've been to most of the places in the video.

Artist: Tracy Lawrence Single: "If I Don't Make It Back" Writers: Brett Jones, Bobby Pinson Album: Then & Now: The Hits Collection Label: Mercury Nashville Producer: James Stroud Year Released: November, 2005 Radio and Records Peak: #40 Billboard Peak: #42
Just for anybody who doesn't know; Cross Canadian Ragweed is not a country band from Canada, but rather one from Yukon, Oklahoma. The name comes from three of the members names (Cody Canada, Grady Cross, Randy Ragsdale). Jeremy Plato is the fourth member. Shannon's song was her first in 4 years and would only release one more off Warner ("Pearls" #57 on R&R) before being dropped. This song was produced and helped written by John Rich with help from Muzik Mafia writer Vicky McGehee. Shannon is actually married to Shaun Silva who directed the video for "Corn Fed". Tracy's song speaks for itself. Easily one of the best to hit country radio over the past decade. Bobby Pinson who sang "Don't Ask Me How I Know" and has co-written countless others helped pen this fabulous tune.

BTW: My dog (wired hair jack russell) who unfortunately has passed away since, used to howl like crazy to "Good Ole Days" by Phil Vassar. It was pretty clear he was attempting to sing along and it was easily one of the greatest things about my childhood. In fact I would avoid playing the song in my house cause I knew if he heard the beginning of it, he wouldn't stop til it was over. :) I don't know what it was about that song but he absolutely loved it.

Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Tebey Single: "We Shook Hands (Man To Man)" Writers: Tebey Album: Non-Album song Label: BNA Year Released: December, 2002 Radio and Records Peak: #44 Billboard Peak: #47
Tebey's full name is Tebey Solomon Ottoh. He's a Canadian country singer/songwriter from Peterborough, Ontario though he grew up in Burlington, Ontario. His father is Nigerian and he signed his first publishing deal at just 15 years old. After signing to Warner Chappel Music he hooked on with BNA at just 19 and released his only U.S. single "We Shook Hands (Man To Man)". After the song's peak in early 2003 he left the label and continued to write for other artists in Canada which included many pop songs along with country. He moved back to Nashville in 2008 and since has written songs for artists such as One Direction and Tearria Mari. He also co-wrote Big & Rich's "Radio" on their Between Raising Hell And Amazing Grace album. In 2011 he signed with Road Angel in Canada and has since released many Canadian country hits such as "Till It's Gone", "Somewhere In The Country" and a remake of Avicii's "Wake Me Up" with Emerson Drive.
"Till It's Gone" is one of my all-time favorite songs by any artist and I wish it could get exposure in America. This song is my second favorite of his though.

Random Album Cuts Of The Day:
Artist: Steve Azar Single: "The Underdog" Writers: Steve Azar, Rafe VanHoy Album: Waitin' On Joe Label: Mercury Nashville Producer: Rafe VanHoy Year Released: April 16th, 2002
Artist: Hot Apple Pie Single: "California King" Writers: Brady Seals, Kizzy Plush Album: Hot Apple Pie Producer: Richard Landis Year Released: June 28th, 2005
Two album cuts. Steve's is one of my favorites of his and one that I thought should have been released. Hot Apple Pie's was the third track on their debut and only studio album. Brady wrote the song about his experience in L.A, and the fact he came back to his home state to pursue country music full time. One of my top 3 or 4 tracks from this album.

Artist: Sarah Johns Single: "The One In The Middle" Writers: Sarah Johns, Jason Sellers, Lynn Hutton Album: Big Love In A Small Town Label: BNA Video Director: Roman White Year Released: May, 2007 Mediabase Peak: #43 Billboard Peak: #39
Another higher Billboard than Mediabase peak here. When I first heard this song, I didn't like it at all but slowly grew to enjoy it and now it's in my iPhone. This is the clean version of the video. There's another version on YouTube that shows multiple middle fingers. ;) This song spent a total of 5 combined weeks at #43 in the summer of 2007.

Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Eric Heatherly Single: "Flowers On The Wall" Writers: Lew DeWitt Album: Swimming In Champagne Label: Mercury Nashville Video Director: Gerry Wenner Year Released: February, 2000 Radio and Records Peak: #6 Billboard Peak: #6
This was the debut single from Eric Heatherly and it happened to be a famous remake of The Statler Brothers song from 1965. Unfortunately due to management changes at the label, Eric would not receive much promotion for his follow up singles with "Swimming In Champagne" (#46) and "Wrong Five O' Clock" (#32). He still was able to release a lead for his second album with "The Last Man Committed" which barely missed the top 30 on R&R. After it peaked he was dropped by the label. He briefly was picked up by DreamWorks and issued two more singles hoping to get his Sometimes It's Just Your Time album released, but neither charted and he soon parted ways again. Since then he has had multiple independent and self-released albums with the latest being The Goats Of Kudzu in 2012.
I decided on this song because of it being played yesterday on Y2Kountry. :)

^This was one of the standout songs and albums from 2000. The title track and second single "Swimming in Champagne" was my favorite from the album and one song I still like to pull out of my music library now and again.

Random Single Of The Day:Artist: Brian McComas Single: "All Comes Floodin' Down" Writers: Brian McComas Album: Back Up AgainLabel: Katapult Producer: Brian McComas Year Released: August 28th, 2006 Mediabase Peak: #61 Billboard Peak: Did Not Chart Please ignore the name on the video itself. This is Brian McComas' song. I spent a long time looking for this song online and I finally found it here, but the video misinterprets the song as another artist. Again this is Brian McComas. Which is why I put up the album's cover art. :)This is one of my favorites for all of 2006 and seriously one of the best songs released to country radio in the past decade. This was the second and only other single from Brian's Back Up Again album off Katapult Records. He got the idea for the song by watching a History Channel special on a ancient town who was washed away by a massive flood. Week Ending: 9/8/2006 MB40. Eric Church - Two Pink Lines 41. Joe Nichols - I'll Wait For You 42. Phil Vassar - The Woman In My Life 43. Sarah Buxton - Innocence 44. Vince Gill - The Reason Why 45. Katrina Elam - Love Is 46. Love the juxtaposition of Tracy, Trace, and the two Andersons. Coincidence?
Was going to congratulate sabre14 for having the first post on this page, but he had the last post on the previous page.

EDITBTW: I did "Last Train Running" in the non singles/news thread last December, but I like Whiskey Falls so much I included it in this thread. ;) Good call! I love it and it deserved so much more. The self titled album is on my regular play list. Too bad they are no more.

Good call! I love it and it deserved so much more. The self titled album is on my regular play list. Too bad they are no more. I'm sure you're talking about Whiskey Falls. :) It's a shame they only made one album. But Seven and Wally make music for many TV shows and commercials while Damon Johnson plays lead guitar for the spin off of the rock band Thin Lizzy; The Black Star Riders. He also played for Brother Cane and Alice Cooper. I think that they knew Whiskey Falls would be a temporary thing though but are still close friends. They have gotten back together a couple times to perform and make a couple new songs like "Rudolf Guide My Way" in 2011 for Christmas and last year for the iTunes single "Fast Talkin' Lover". "Falling Into You" was fantastic as well. It peaked at #39 on Mediabase in early 2008.
