YOUR TOP 15: As expected, Frozen returns to the #1 spot and may even be up slightly. We've anticipated a few digital bumps from Sunday night's Grammy ceremony ahead of next week's onslaught of winners and performers. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend: 1. Frozen (Walt Disney) 85-90k 2. Beyoncé (Columbia) 45-50k 3. A Great Big World (Black Magnetic/Epic) 45-50k 4. 2014 Grammy Nominees (Atlantic) 40-45k 5. Kidz Bop Kids (Razor & Tie) 30-35k 6. Young The Giant (Fueled By Ramen) 30-35k 7. Lorde (Lava/Republic) 30-35k 8. Bruce Springsteen (Columbia) 22-25k 9. Eminem (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) 21-24k 10. Katy Perry (Capitol) 21-24k 11. Jennifer Nettles (Mercury Nashville) 19-21k 12. Imagine Dragons (KidinaKorner/Interscope) 18-20k 13. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (Macklemore) 16-18k 14. Bastille (Virgin) 15-17k 15. One Direction (Syco/Columbia) 15-17k 16. Miley Cyrus (RCA) 15-17k In a related story, Richard Sherman yelled at an interviewer not to mention Olaf's name, adding, "I'M the most adorable snowman in the kingdom." (1/23p)

So Bey is in the 40-50k range as well, then. Even putting aside the time of year, she's been holding well for an album well into its second month of sales.

No mention of The Beatles box set... It's $169.99.

Next week looks like a very low week in album sales unless there's a huge bump in sales during the Grammys on Sunday.

^There will be a bump as people watch a performance and go to a digital retailer to buy a single or album.

I had figured A Great Big World wouldn't possibly get over 40k, so I'm very happy to see they're already predicted to do so! Good album, though its commercial viability (at least on pop radio) beyond "Say Something" is fairly low.

Good album, though its commercial viability (at least on pop radio) beyond "Say Something" is fairly low. It's a lot different than what I expected them to release. Lots of "musical theater"-ish lyrics and melodies. I like it a lot.

Would not expect much here. Best Buy carries it. Target and Walmart do not. (at least the ones I went to). The Best Buy that I was at had two copies. Most of the albums are being sold individually, there should be more activity there than there would be with the big set.
(walmart.com carries this. Target.com does not)
This isn't being favorably reviewed on amazon either, these are supposed to be "authentic" replications of the actual US albums released in the 60s, targeting the collectors who would want such a thing. Mixes from 1987 and 2009 show up in spots throughout the collection. For what sales there would be among collectors, the word of mouth on the mis-marketing will likely reduce sales further.
Good news is, four of the five albums that have not been released before are available separately.

^Yes, the individual albums are $13.99 at Best Buy this week.
Next week's BB200 will be exciting.

Disappointing thing though, the never before released(or never to CD anyway) "Beatles Story" is not. You have to buy the whole set to get it.

How many times can the Beatles re-release their music? No shade to them but fans of 60s and 70s music sometimes criticize the methods today's artists release their music but this is probably the 3rd or 4th significant event surrounding the Beatles' re-releases in recent years.

There's been a bunch of Beatles releases due to the copyright laws in Europe. If they don't get released then they'd be free for public use with no money. Those are the 50 year copyright for sound recordings. I think you add these type of releases to all these other compilations and you begin to feel inundated with Beatles albums.

A Great Big World Aiming for Top 10 Debut on Billboard 200 Chart
By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | January 22, 2014 8:53 PM EST
Powered by their smash ballad "Say Something," Pop duo a Great Big World is on track to score the highest debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart next week.
The act's "Is There Anybody Out There?" may sell between 45,000 and 50,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Jan. 26. The album's single, "Say Something," with Christina Aguilera, is currently bulleted at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- its peak position.
As for next week's No. 1 album, it's likely that the "Frozen" soundtrack will stage a return to the top. However, it's too early to forecast how much the Disney album will sell this week. In the week ending Jan. 19, it sold 87,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan, while in the week previous, it moved 86,000.
The new Billboard 200's top 10 will be revealed on Jan. 29.
If "Frozen" returns to No. 1, it will mark the third non-consecutive week atop the list for the album. The last soundtrack to spend more than two weeks at No. 1 was "High School Musical 2," which ruled for four weeks in 2007.
A wild card in the mix this week is the Grammy Awards, which air on Sunday night (Jan. 26), the final day of the tracking week. Though, most of the large gains won't be seen until after a full week of impact has been felt from the show. (Still, don't rule out a Sunday night surge for any number of albums from the performers and winners on the show. Say, for example, nominee and performer Beyonce's self-titled album.)
The awards should benefit the new "2014 Grammy Nominees" compilation, which arrived to market on Jan. 21. The 18-song album features such Grammy nominees as Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Lorde, Imagine Dragons and Daft Punk. At the present, the album may sell approximately 45,000 copies.

I'm just really impressed at how Frozen is doing... not cause its #1 but it keeps outdoing expectations. I wonder how long it'll keep this momentum.

Is this just any weeks in the top 10? It's not consecutive? I was curious because I thought Eminem's album has been top 10 since release making it 12 weeks after this. Gotta be one of the biggest for modern consecutive albums.

This is most weeks in the top 10 since 1963, which was what I thought your original question was. Consecutive weeks after debut since 20xx is a different question.
What is a modern album?

Adele's album is now on the catalog chart so that might be considered old too? Yes, I worded the question wrong. It was great info though. I would consider Adele modern. I meant like since 2000 or so. I was just curious how many current music stars have albums that have spent 10+ weeks in the top 10 from debut on

Wow at Frozen's longevity. Disney recently announced they'll be releasing a sing-along version of the movie to 1,000 theaters starting 1/31. That could also help further the soundtrack's longevity by bringing even more focus to the music.
